It's good to see a channel actually making things with a knife rather than just batoning and beating it through in a cross cut, or whacking limbs like a hatchet. Making things with a knife is the true test of a knife and its usefulness as a woods tool. Really good video.
I really like mine. Good fit in a big hand sharp blade sharp spine. My sheath was imperfect and the knife cut through it like butter I found a partially complete kydex sheath on Amazon. I do not belt carry my knives in the glade anyway
i was contemplating the leather sheath, until you cut through it lol... It looks SO good..... many subtle details currently 125 euro in the Netherlands, with the leather
It is a fantastic knife. But as I said I'm not a fan of these style sheets for this exact reason. It's just too easy to mess up that's why I prefer Kydex I think you get a better fit with Kydex and it's more secure. Another good knife to look at is any of the BPS knives. Every BPS knife I have picked up I've been extremely pleased with. So good luck with your decision brother have a great night.
I have the Nessmuk by Joker... It is as well made as your knife. They are extraordinary knives and for my purposes, it has been a real trooper. Like you, I use it for my 2-3 day trips here in the Cascades and It will last me the rest of my life. These knives are GREAT! The steel is an excellent alloy and I'll say now that this Swedish stainless has no equals. Thank you for your in-depth vid.
If other Joker knives are anything like my lynx totally agree. I know I will have this blade till the day I pass on. Been looking at the nomad but I'm so happy with my lynx I just can't bring myself to spend the money. Swedish steels are great have had a few knives with them. This bohler N695 is no slouch either. Very pleased with it. Thanks for the comment and the views.
Love mine but the sheath was too tight and the knife cut into both sides so I ordered a kydex sheath blank I pack carry any way. The nomad is it bigger brother
Its because they use that crap bonded leather for their sheaths... any quality leather would take a whole lot more force than just running the blade by it to cut clean through.. Sadly most reviews tend to praise the sheath because of the thickness, but fail to mention its basically the particle board of the leather world.. it's a real shame too, as the design and stitching is very well done, just bad choice of material.
I have the lynx, and i do agree with you : it is very very good. The sheath I have is not so bad... Joker is really one must society, doing high quality product at nice price in Europe. To be known all over the world ! Thanks
It is a sweet blade for sure. Let me know what you think of the Nomad when you get it. I have been debating on getting it but I have so many blades now its silly. Thanks for the comment Hope you subscribe and stick around.
@@charlesartificer2158 Just received my blades. Haven't test them yet but the lynx was absolutely perfect. The nomad was probably worked on by a new employee because the blade had a chip, a rolled edge and the tip was not completely finished. The tip kind of reminds me of the can opener tool on a swiss army knife, to a lesser degree. I'm going to ask for a replacement since I'm not skilled enough to reprofile a convex blade with stones.
@@pugilist102 sorry to hear about your experience with the nomad so far, lets hope the replacement goes off without a hitch. You are going to love the lynx. Did everything I asked of it and was begging for more. That combined with it's timeless style and great fit and finish just had me falling in love with it. Did you get the lynx with the kydex sheath or leather?
@@pugilist102 normally I agree but between the weather here and the style of that sheath I have become a huge fan of kydex. But if your happy with it, that's what matters. Sheaths like knives are not a one type fits all users thing. Please keep us updated on how your exchange goes with the nomad.
Nice. When I was younger I liked big blades as well. I Used to have this giant bowie knife. Ended up giving it away because other than a chopper or fighting knife I found it of limited use for the weight. Now I just carry a fixed blade 4 to 5 inches in length and a swiss army knife. Gives me alot more functionality with less weight. Its funny I don't need anymore knifes but I keep buying more. I guess that's how I became a collector lol.
contemplating one myself, to have that one good knife. What i find so bizar is that i Never heard from them, until some reviews from real bushcrafters, and apparently Everyone is happy with them. Found myself a hidden gem i recon ;)
When you button through logs, the edge never touches the wood. It's the sides of the blade that do all the job. That's why the edge, didn't roll or dull at all. Check ou the Joker Nomad, more cutting power, sharper edge and better blade geometry with convex grind. PS Stop using your thumb on the spine, especially when you try to make feathersticks etc. You have to learn how to use these kind of knives, it's a matter for safety too, but it's more because you will enjoy more the hobby. Hope you won't get offended with the last one I said. Take care
There are a lot of factors in play when you baton. The thickness and grind of the blade, the type of wood and its moisture content. The high grind on this knife and the fact that the wood is not totally dry had me a bit worried. I for one am glad the blade is everything its cracked up to be and more. Thanks for the comment.
Shizz NO I don't think you jokin! Skeeters are legendary in Louisiana, Michigan, Canada...anywhere on the NAC with a bunch of standing water and the bastages will carry you off. Worse than the damn starlings and crows in "The Dark Half" by Stephen King😂
Oh ya. One time I was up north here and the skeeters were so thick I was wearing a light jacket, gloves and a skeeter hood and a mask so I would not accidently beath any in. Also was in late July and 90 some degrees out. ahh fun times.
I really like that you took time to use and test it before your overall review.
It's how I roll. Thanks for the comment.

@PileofBrass thanks. I am of the same mind set and try to show any blade I review doing common tasks.
Good that you are happy with it. I also look at the Ursus but there are little reviews about this one.
Yes very happy with it. Not familiar with the Ursus, will do a little digging on it. Thanks for the comment.
I'm going to go buy me one. You persuaded me!!
You won't be disappointed. the only other knives I feel this strongly about is BPS.
I purchased this knife for hunting because my tracker x is a little to robust for hunting and processing game
Its a great knife. Thanks for the comment.
How is it as a skinning and processing knife??

Good review! Looking forward to the sheath video!!
Still filming it, kinda long so will be in multiple parts. But coming soon.

I have the Joker Lynx, Mountaineer in full flat grind (which is lighter and a little thinner than the Lynx), NO79, and Cocker. They're all excellent.
Everyone I have talked to says similar things. Seems like a good company that makes very nice knives. Thanks for the comment.
Great review brother! Have a great weekend! God bless 🙏🏻🇺🇸✝️🤟🏻
Thanks, The lynx will be showing up in a few more videos.
I agree with you. I cut myself twice with my new Joker Nomad. Never seen a knife so sharp.
Joker Knives are something else that's for sure. Do you like the Nomad? It seemed a bit to big to me from what I have seen of it.
