Drop B is one of the best tunings period. It’s such a full bodied sound. I played in a band a few years back that was almost exclusively in that tuning and we definitely had the best tone out of our whole local scene as a result

I like transposing ballads for this same reason. Fade to Black, Sanitarium, and One all sound like the embodiment of depression and sadness in B Standard (Baritone Tuning, 2 and a half steps down from E standard).
This is a fantastic variant of the song. it doesnt feel like a cover it feels like an alternate version that was never released or something. i dont really know but it is amazing!

Yeah but you had to re-tune your instruments between every song and the audience didn't like that, they said it stalled momentum.

Deftones is too heavy for this imo. It has that grunge/dreamy feel though. Maybe a band more like Chevelle or maybe even MBV.
