YES! he is half Russian, its a blessing that you speak Russian. of course he should learn! you gotta keep trying and just speak to him in Russian, thats the best way to learn! i wish my grandmother taught me Portuguese 🥺
Bless you for good advice Deja!
That’s right dnt give up it’s good to be bilingual. They will benefit in the future plus it will keep them grounded and humble to know their history so they can build there future
Children are like a sponge, they will learn Russian easily, just be consistent. I am Jamaican and my children are bilingual, they speak French, because we live in Quebec, Canada, it is an asset. 🌺❤️🇨🇦
Swaggy big up your nice clean self
But they can’t chat patwah nor have anything really connected to Jamaica evcept there parents which makes the Jamaicans culture die out yk
@@javonwatkins6924 the kids and young adults now born and living abroad of JA parents speak more patois, culturally they know we Yawd.
@@javonwatkins6924They will be alright because they're exposed to the culture daily by living here.
Hi Swaggy! I think the more languages they learn the better they will be. What a great opportunity for them to learn so many languages.
Absolutely, I wish growing up I was taught another language besides English.
For sure!!
Being bi-lingual is impressive and can do wonders when you get older. You can also land your dream job as well. A lot of positives
Swaggy its important to teach you children your language, i have seen so many people here in the US that regret not teaching their children their native language when they were younger. Once your children are fluent in the language then you start with the alphabet and they will get it really fast because they are still young.
Swaggy, why don't you speak only Russian at home and at school only English, Errol will be learning Russian too. That's home I learnt French.🌺❤️🇨🇦
Agreed.
Her husband needs to learm the language too.
Swaggy use to speak more Russian… please continue. It makes your children more marketable in the future. Teach your husband too.
Yes it's worth while she speaks russian with her kids at home here in the Dutch caribbean I have a child and we both parents speaks English with her at school she learned to speak Dutch
Jacqueline you are absolutely correct. Speaking only Russian at home will not hold them back in school. To improve on their reading is to read move to them at home and they will gain the love of books and reading will definitely pick up. Being bilingual is quite a bonus. And Speaking many languages is not unheard of. Please continue with them knowing Russian.
Exactly
Thank you too all Jamaican people in the comments encouraging her to teach Russian ❤
That's right Swaggy. Russia is a part of their culture and heritage so teach them as much of it as possible to round them out. I'm Jamaican but I have lived in America since 1969. My children were born in America but I infuse my Jamaican culture in them. Their Dad is Nigerian but he passed away but his family in Nigeria stays in contact with us so they do know some of their Nigerian culture.
do they speak a Nigerian language?
Yes you must teach them your language. It's part of their heritage, you owe it to them and will regret it if you don't do it.
Continue to speak to them in Russian. Research has shown that children with a good grounding in a mother tongue, find it easier to learn additional languages. If this is lacking, learning an additional language becomes more challenging for them. Don't worry about the possibility of confusion, kids are amazing at getting over these differences. Childhood is the best time for language acquisition. All the best, don't give up.👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾
Learning a foreign language is indeed one of the most IMPRESSIVE skills that a human being can acquire. Languages help other languages and I got better in all the ones I speak fluently because I kept interacting with native speakers. Children, being able to visualize and see how you use words and gestures in context, will learn QUICKLY. "Когда вы находитесь на кухне, вы можете сказать: "Это шкаф, это ложка, это фрукты, это зеленый горошек". Чем чаще вы будете говорить "это", тем лучше они будут понимать и запоминать. 😄😉
Swaggy, don't forget that English is a second language to your kids because they were not born in Jamaica. They were going to kindergarten in Vietnam and also hearing you speak Russian and them learning your language. That's why. Leo and Danny are doing great. Teach them your culture too. You have Orthodox church in Ochi too. You are great parents ❤.
English is their 1st language, which is spoken at home...
English is there first language 😭😭 when they were born the first words they ever said in there life was English and English sentences from there parents then the picked up Asian language and Russian
Swaggy a good idea is, always try to speak as much Russian in the house and in your everyday activities, the children will catch on quickly. they are young and you would be surprise how much well children can cope and soak up information quickly. you are doing a awesome job just keep it it up. Love you. Canada fan.
YES, Please speak the RUSSIAN LANGUAGE with your children and husband. They can study in Motherland Russia in the future and can converse with their relatives and grandparents.
Please teach them your mother tongue. Bilingual is the way to go. Speak to them in Russian… kids learn quickly… any language.
I just wanted to add by saying that children's minds are like a sponges. They absorb & retain everything at this time in their lives. Don't give up & stick to it 👍🏾😊
Yes Swaggy you keep speaking to them in Russian it's good for them 👏 👍 MY father came from. Cuba and my mother Jamaican and because he worked on a ship we did not learn Spanish because my mom could not speak Spanish ..We learnt a little at school but until this day I wished my father was around to teach us.... Never give up they'll get it ...💓
Don't give up at all!!! Dem wiii catch on with the reading also...just continue!!
Absolutely!! You teach your sons the Russian language. I have Polish and Chinese friends and all their children are bilingual. Now is the time. Their brains are like sponge at this age. They absorb everything. Perfect time and don't miss the opportunity.
Yes, you should. They will appreciate it when they get older and travelling the world and also in their future careers! You are a strong motivated person. Children brain is like a sponge 🧽 when they are young. This is the time to motivate them!🇯🇲💕
Boys are growing beautifully!
Leo resembles errol & Danny resembles you...he's so sweet. It's good for them to be multilingual, can come in handy later on in their lives. Parents are best teacher's for their children' whilst giving them foundations of life!
Stay Blessed & Safe! 1😘
Continue teaching your kids your language, they will get it over time. Its good to know more than one language.
Swaggy, bilingualism and biculturalism (or tri-) from birth or even childhood are real gifts that we as parents should pass on to our children! You should speak only Russian to them, naturally (not just the alphabet or grammar)...it is your mother tongue! Errol should speak Jamaican, his mother/father tongue, to them and they will learn English at school. Children brought up in this way often do start reading a bit later than others, but then they catch up and usually surpass their peers in the end. Whatever you do, please do not confuse or mix up your languages...keep them as clearly separated as you can. That includes Jamaican and English. The children will easily know how to distinguish between their languages and will easily recognise native speakers in the future. Please just speak to both of them in Russian so that they can speak it naturally too. But also, don't be frustrated if they don't always answer you in Russian. Just keep at it and they will learn! Good luck and enjoy the process!
Very good advice!
Yes you should it's his heritage and you have a very diverse family that would be extremely awesome teach them
Please teach him he will be grateful x
An hundred percent agree with you. Swaggy just do your best and teach them everything you know about your language and culture; I believe when their older they’ll decide if they want to continue or not.
Yes, Swaggy teach them as much as you can you will see great results in the future.
Yes Swaggy, it is very important to teach them their roots on both sides. Great job!!!
Yes Swaggy, please do not give up with this. This is probably my first comment even tho I've been watching a lot of your videos since almost 2 yrs. I was a French major in college and languages are my passion. I also studied Spanish in college too and after a trip to Puerto Rico 10 yrs ago, I started listening to a Spanish language station La Mega here in NY. I can tell you that after a while, the brain resets and without any effort it starts to understand more without any notebooks or alphabet or anything. If you can get some Russian cartoons etc. on the internet, you can add that too, Leo will enjoy and Danny will learn more without even knowing it's happening. Keep it up Ms. Swaggy, you are doing a great job at the most important job in the world - being a mom! 👍
Do not give up! Keep going! Your sons are bright and they will be a blessing not only for you but for Jamaica....As they grow and when they look back in time, they will remember their mother who taught them Russian and shared her culture, and in that blessing it will serve the greater community of Jamaica and open the eyes for many others to see why we are OUT OF MANY ONE PEOPLE!!
Yes this is very important make sure your teach both of them 100%
Luv ya Swaggy,...Eroll as well!!!! Keep doing what you are doing as far as teaching!!! Bless up!!! Gaza Gaza lol!!!
Blessed love to you swaggy, teach him he needs to know
Yes please teach them about your culture and language 🙏
Your skin look great Swaggy. Like you head band.
Yes, teach them. Knowledge/Education is key. Remember our motto, "Out of many, one people"
Swaggy, you might think it's difficult but, speak to both of them in Russian, they will acquire the language. It's easier for them as young children, they will naturally adapt when they are with English speakers. Keep at it.
Teach the kids your culture…important, well rounded children 😍
Swaggy from the outside looking in I think you are doing a fantastic job. Don't give up they will thank you later
Continue with the learning of the language it's a great things for kids
Your language is part of who you are and who he is.Keep on pushing for your Sons.
Swaggy you look absolutely gorgeous wearing your kecuco boho headband. BEAUTIFUL
Good job Swaggy. It is crucial that kids be multi-lingual. Keep at it, u r doing a good job
I agree with you teach your children your language and culture
Kuliegirl. Swaggy, it’s so admirable of you to remain determined to teach Danny & Lio Russian language and traditions. Having the ability to speak more than one language is so rewarding. I know it’s not easy and yes, being a parent is really a tough job however you are doing an amazing job. Keep the faith and keep on pushing. You are a great Mommy 🙏🏽❤️❤️
Hi Swaggy..it's a good idea to teach them. It is also on TH-cam learn Russian language for kids. They learn colors, alphabet and alot more but in a fun way. But is is necessary to teach them♥️
Stay encourage Swaggy time will reveal your efforts. Don't overwhelm them make teaching fun. If you find it difficult there are so many examples on TH-cam get ideas and find what works for you, them. They may appear to you to be slow but all kids learn at different pace the worse you can do is compare them to others. Love seeing Leo eat mango it thrilled my heart. See u soon
Hey Swaggy 👋 Bless up to you and family ❤. I'm 100% agreed with you...don't give up on your roots, grow your culture and ensure your children know that culture as well. One ❤ Canadian 🇨🇦 Jamaican 🇯🇲
Excellent Swaggy! Children are good learners. You’re doing great in teaching them both Russian. Maybe while giving them the lesson you can speak to them in Russian also so that they pick up on conversational Russian as well. Like saying “Good job Leo” etc in Russian. Great job all around you’re doing! Keep it up.
Love your head band
Hey Swaggy, its hard but i Ihink teaching both your boys will be an amazing skill in the future! Keep at it! You are amazing!
You're right not every child has the same every kid learn different just keep on teaching them
You are doing the right thing don’t give up it will benefit them in the Long run… you are a great mother Swaggy‼️
Hi Swaggy and Family, Yes, your sons should learn their mother language and culture because they are half & half. Love you guys!❤️
Keep doing your best Swaggy! They’ll be fluent before you know it. You’re doing the right thing and though it’s hard, the rewards are well worth it! You’ve got this mom! 💐
Hi Swaggy, I saw the same document, and I do see their point...my daughter was born here in Canada, Jamaican heritage and I just think it's important for her to also learn about her Jamaican heritage...many Jamaicans among other immigrants have abandon their heritage...people can embrace both
Swaggy I admired your view on carrying on your Russian roots and culture to your children. You're on the right path 👏...don't give up on your culture. It's apart of you and your children deserve to know both of their ancestors culture. You and Errol are great parents and you're such an inspiration to your kids. So proud of you in how you show so much respect and love to your culture and the Jamaican culture ❤ 💜 👏.
Swaggy I Agree With one of Viewers Speak only Russian at home and English at School, might be Easier for him .🤞🏽👍🏽
It's good for them to know another language. Even if they can only understand Russian. It's hard to tell from now if they'll embrace it in the future. My parents are from Europe and they never really forced me to speak Hungarian but I understand it fluently but don't really speak it grammatically correct.
That great keep doing it. Time will tell you are a great mother.
You are right Swaggy you have to continue teaching them it will help in the long run you are so so mature for your age big up nuff love ❤🙏
Swaggy you should teach both boys together, Danny is young and will pick up information quickly, don't wait until he is Leo's age to begin teaching him, they will
Teach them all the languages you are aquainted with. Its gonna be an asset someday. Even Errol i would enjoy hearing him speak Russian
Good morning happy Easter. Glad you stayed in. For me you should teach him your language.
Well done Mom,
Thanks much for sharing My Dear.
Good job👍
Always happy to see the interest you take in your children,
Keep up the good work Mama.👍🙏
Great family,
Blessings🙏🙏🙏🙏
That was interesting, l see what you mean about why the kids read slowly as their processing in their brain differently, bless them 😊 well done to you for analysing that and finding a process to manage it.
Try "sight words" using index cards.
Kids love this method of learning.
Yes. Teach him. He will regret not learning when gets older. I love your Jamaican accent. Im Jamaican and taught myself russian some years ago.
jus keep reinforcing it and leo will be ok.it’s important that they learn russian,it’s a part of them, don’t be discouraged swaggy your boys will be fine.you are a great mom and I’m sure your perseverance will pay off.👍👍💯💯
You can do it. I'm rooting for you guys. I wish I knew another language.
Just keep going on persevere with it, everything takes time but they will learn, kids are like sponges once the information settle, it will stay, keep up the good work
Brilliant idea is always good to let your children's know about where their Parents Coulter yes because a lot of us Jamaican or I should say Islanders don't have no idea about where our four parents comes from too much things were not told to us but what I can say is that that Jamaican is really a mixed nation and that is why we speak like that it's a mixed Language but because we were learned to speak English no matter where you came from. Thanks for sharing this wonderful story good job Swaggy😊😊👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🙏🙏🙏
so cool!! I'm going to have my kids learn Hebrew! so English and Hebrew
Keep at it..And he will be successful
Yes for sure, teach dem. It will really help dem in the future to speak another language.
I love that your teaching them your mother language. Be easy on them and they will get it one day....just remember practice becomes perfect
Be proud o your culture. Your children have been blessed because they have two rich cultures.
Well said my friend God, bless you all.
Yes, you should teach your children your language. It's good for them to have the different language. It will benefit them in the future.
Swaggy try getting some Russian Cartoon/Kid Videos & play it for them. You are such good Mom being so strong & motivated to do & learn many things.
Go Prince Danny and Prince Leo. It is good respect.
Please don't give up ...keep teaching them
Be who you are Swaggy! You need to teach your children your culture too, language, food, music & traditions
keep up the good work swaggy he will get it soon
Swaggy its good when you can teach them Russian because my kids born in Switzerland they are half Swiss half Jamaican, snd i always speak patwa with them so in the long run it paid off,so keep on trying.
Saw your husbon yesterday and the masters league football and the treat
I think it’s so important that the kids know both sides. You make the right decision.
Yes that will make them very employable in the future
It's going to be hard but if you are consistent it will eventually work all the best.
Teach him.. They need to understand their cultural ancestry. Having another language is an asset... Equip your kids for the future in all things... Stay blessed 🙏🏿👍🏿
Good evening Swaggy and family! I watched that video also about Germantown in Jamaica 🇯🇲! I say don't give up on teaching your children your native language!
They are still young so it's the best thing for you to do they will learn..
I was born in England and now living in the United States and I took Russian as an elective in college truly it is a hard language...btw just found my textbook this past weekend 😀
It’s good to learn more than one language and now is the right time to teach your kids because they learn faster when they are young ! I see you focus more on teaching Leo and not Daniel but you need to also focus on Daniel ! The German town is call Seaford Town and it’s in the Parish of Westmoreland !
I agree with you Swaggy, I watched that video as well and I put myself in their shoes. I’m so glad we still have some of our African culture and that can go back to Africa if we want to but sad we’ve lost our name and, language, where in Africa we’re from and a lot more.
I feel your pain, it's very frustrating not knowing your true roots. Have you tried the ancestry dna tests? I think they are irreplaceable, most of the time the only hope in this century many of us have for answers. I did it and to anyone who says it's not real, I beg to differ because it matched me up with cousins that I know personally and it would be impossible for the company to know we know one another since we don't have the same last name and we live in a different state and a different country. Matter of fact, there are at least 2 matches that I've never met in person but I know their parent and aunt 🤷♀
Children are very resillient......They were created to LEARN and ADAPT....Keep teaching them....This is a good time to start teaching both of them......The older the get they more challenging it will be.....Keep doing what you are doing Swaggy❤
Swaggy take your time😃😃❤
Hi my swag family Blessed Easter to you all yes try and teach the boys let them know their Russian history it will benefit later love from 🇻🇨💯🙏💞✝️💞🙏📚
Yes..make them learn your language
So real Swaggy. I'm not Russian or Jamaican. I'm British with Bajan roots. I'm grateful for my Barbadian roots and British roots. I feel that I'm well rounded and I cooked meals from both countries to uphold my cultures. Teach your children as much Russian as possible. They will appreciate the language and culture later on in his life. You are a great mum.
I wish I had the chance to learn a second language etc when I was a child. Any knowledge is never wasted. As a child sometimes we hate having to do/learn something...it isn't until we get older do we appreciate the value of it. I think both children learning Russian would be Great! 😁❤
@@eileenwatt8283 Yes I know...it's much easier these days with technology everywhere.
I just don't have as much drive now compared to my youthful days 😔
I do try hear and there and have picked up some more words in diff languages but I just don't do it on a serious level. 😊
Yes Swaggy teach them , it will benefit them in the future. I'm Jamaican and Puerto Rican ,My mother taught us to speak Spanish and I am very glad I can speak it well
Happy Easter to the Family, and yes teach your kids your native language.
Your boys are soooo handsome and soooo cute 💞🥰😍 good to teach more than one language, your doing a good job
Yes you must to know the future you have to know the past bless up👍
German Town is in Seaford town in westmoreland and there are small communities on other parts of Jamaica
