Kallen defeated Hellmaru but was tricked and stabbed by possessed Sakura. Possessed Sakura was about to finish her off when Sakura took back control and stabbed herself. The 12th herrscher then left Sakura's body and flowed fully into Hellmaru, leading to one final fight between Kallen and it. Kallen was able to seal both Sakura and the 12th herrscher back into the black box, but was badly hurt while doing so. This now leads us to 500 years later. The 12th herrscher keeps trying to take over, but Sakura’s dreams that a silver-haired maiden would protect her allowed her to never lose hope. We see Sakura again after the 3rd honkai eruption that caused Mei to briefly turn into the 3rd herrscher walking among the destruction. This fact I am not so clear about, but it is believed that Clone Kiana (who will be called Kiana for the rest of this) is then the one to free both of them due to her being one of Kallen’s kin. They next show up right after Theresa Apocalypse had fought and was poisoned by the thorny sudo-herrscher. Sakura, due to her love of Kallen and how Theresa was made using Kallen’s dna, believed that she was Kallen’s kin and decided to give her their herrscher core in order to save her life. This caused Theresa to obtain the Stigmata on her back. This stigmata then activates during her rematch with the thorny sudo-herrscher, causing Theresa to change into a form with fox ears and fangs. After the fight, Theresa becomes extremely confused due to the presence of the other minds trying to occupy her and passes out. She begins a mental battle with the data present within the stigma, the 12th herrscher, and falls into a coma. Mei is then introduced into the stigma space as well using Bronya’s Homu-homu virtual reality comm link (the same one that let Kiana see the history of Kallen). This brings us into the events of the Sakura Samsaras. In this, we see how the 12th herrscher is trying to mentally break Sakura and cause her to fully lose hope such that it could take over her mind and Theresa’s body. Mei encounters Kallen in one of the first Samasaras where we find Hellmaru defeated and Kallen heavily injured. Kallen provides Mei a golden crucifix to give to Sakura. Switching back to Theresa and Sakura in a later samasara, we find Sakura reliving the events of Rin’s death. This Samasara was created and is controlled by the 12th herrscher who is trying to deprive Sakura of any hope she has left by having Rin die at end of the day no matter what Sakura does to try to save her. This process was then interrupted by Theresa who is forced into the stigmata space as a helpless girl. Theresa’s inclusion breaks the flow of the samasara such that Theresa replaces Rin. Sakura treats her kindly, but is forced by the 12th herrscher to sacrifice Theresa in the same way that she had to sacrifice Rin. Due to Theresa’s similarities with Kallen, this event destroys the hope Sakura had left and lets the 12th herrscher take over her body in real life. We then cut back to Sakura who is having to relive the cycle of Rin’s death yet again. We see her losing herself to despair, but she still refuses to give up. At her lowest point, a cat shows up and starts to break the cycle of despair. Small sad events such as Sakura admitting that she is powerless or that Rin isn’t going to get better are then replaced with the cat showing up and warming Sakura and Rin’s hearts. The 12th herrscher shows up in the form of Sakura’s father and tries to take Rin away for the sacrifice. The cat’s presence plus Sakura’s hope allowed Sakura to fight back once more and allowed the cat to return to its previous form of Theresa. Switching back yet again to real life, we see possessed Theresa try to attack Kiana and Bronya, but due to Sakura and Theresa’s actions in the stigmata space she is unable to fight and is quickly subdued. At this point, we see Sakura and Theresa fighting against Hellmaru who is about to defeat them when Mei joins the battle. She is unable to beat Hellmaru, but succeeds in delivering the golden crucifix to Sakura. It gives her hope as it was a symbol of Kallen. The golden crucifix combined with Sakura’s hope allow Theresa to obtain new powers in the form of the Celestial Hymn and the Oath of Judah. Theresa is able to bind Hellmaru using the Oath of Judah but is then put into a separate dream by the 12th herrscher. In this space, Theresa gets to relive the death of Cecilia, her best friend, caused by her grandfather Otto Apocalypse. The 12th herrscher takes the form of Otto and tries to get Theresa to kill him, which would allow him to take over her body and mind. However, Theresa hugs and forgives Otto for all the horrible things he has done. This one small act of kindness greatly impacts the 12th herrscher, who had up to this point only known hatred and pain, and causes it to allow itself to lose and go back to sleeping in the black box (which at this point is likely inside the stigma space). This allows Sakura to finally live in peace in the stigma space in a world where she and Rin were finally able to go see the Sakura trees bloom. In-game, this is then continued by Sakura’s discovery of Higokumaru, who turns out to be the remainder of what good was left in the 12th herrscher. Through Sakura and Higokumaru actions, they discover a memory figment of Kallen and finally defeat the evil figment that had manifested in the possessed suit of armor called Jizo Mitama. This allowed the black box to finally fulfill its purpose and create the herrscher core weapon called Jizo Mitama. Sakura had the ability to keep this with her in the stigma space, but she “threw it out into the real world”. It is not known how that happened, but that is how it can show up in-game. I believe that is the entire story of Sakura and the 12th Herrscher. I may have gotten some small details wrong, but I believe it is mostly correct. This was all accumulated from the various manga, in-game events, and the wiki. I hope this helped clear some things up.
The part where Yae Sakura reappeared in the modern world was told in Guns Girl Z/Honkai Gakuen 2, she was a boss then and was defeated by Kiana, Mei and Bronya. Because of her defeat she had just enough freewill to save Theresa.
You are right but also wrong, the HI3 timeline still have the event of Kallen and Sakura 500 years ago BUT the part where she wandering after the third honkai impact was scraped a long time ago (with the theresa part as well, it appeared that Mihoyo didnt have any direction for the story around that time), the samsara story had shown us the dimension inside the core where Sakura help Higo defeat her hatred-self, even though it was just a fake reality but Sakura can finally rest in peace with her love one, it the end of Sakura's journey
The gratitude arc (Sakura and Theresa's story) isnt connected to Samsara story which is in game. In other words, the last chapter of Samsara story (where Yae finds Higokomaru and new god Key appears) isnt the continuation of gratitude arc where everything went fine. It is a different/separate story.

Maybe these ones came from GGZ but I'm not sure).The only way you could probably possibly learn the origin story is by playing the Open-World Sakura Samsara of Honkai Impact. If you want to look through the comics, Elan Palatinus is a precursor to all of this, and Gratitude Arc is a follow-up to all of them. As for the onigiri, Sakura actually made a large onigiri especially for Kallen (that, or it's a habit - the extra large onigiri is also present in Gratitude Arc).

You are right but also wrong, the HI3 timeline still have the event of Kallen and Sakura 500 years ago BUT the part where she wandering after the third honkai impact was scraped a long time ago (with the theresa part as well, it appeared that Mihoyo didnt have any direction for the story around that time), the samsara story had shown us the dimension inside the core where Sakura help Higo defeat her hatred-self, even though it was just a fake reality but Sakura can finally rest in peace with her love one, it the end of Sakura's journey
The gratitude arc (Sakura and Theresa's story) isnt connected to Samsara story which is in game. In other words, the last chapter of Samsara story (where Yae finds Higokomaru and new god Key appears) isnt the continuation of gratitude arc where everything went fine. It is a different/separate story.
Sakura. The most poular character in honkai/ggz, but is the least connected to the main story.
To the main timeline? No. In Kallen’s timeline? Yes. But Bronya is best girl. She gives no fucks.

@@abyssofsaltytuna7795 I'm not sure there's an official manga (I, too, am also looking through the Honkai comics site because I did not see any of this illustrated in the manga. Maybe these ones came from GGZ but I'm not sure).The only way you could probably possibly learn the origin story is by playing the Open-World Sakura Samsara of Honkai Impact. If you want to look through the comics, Elan Palatinus is a precursor to all of this, and Gratitude Arc is a follow-up to all of them.
As for the onigiri, Sakura actually made a large onigiri especially for Kallen (that, or it's a habit - the extra large onigiri is also present in Gratitude Arc).

簡単にいうと日本に昔桜とその妹がいてでも年々雨が降らず村の者は神がおこってるといい病気で体の弱い桜の妹を生贄にしようとしたけ桜は巫女であったため自分の手で自分の妹を殺して贄にするしかないけど彼女はできなかっただから妹を救おうとして縄を切り連れ去ろうとしたけどその妹の足の筋を2人の父親である人に切られ移動不可んでその父桜の手を掴まれ自分の妹を殺めてしまった。4年後カレン(十字架を持ってる女)が大怪我をして川の側で倒れてたのをみて介護した。暮らして行く時間に連れてカレンのことを自分の家族と思い始めた。カレンは守護騎士で自分の国が行ってる崩壊に対する対抗策として人体実験をすることに嫌悪しておりその実験に必要な黒い箱を持ち出して重症。んで拾われた桜に。けどあるひ村の人々がまた贄を神に捧げようとして村にいるその贄の姉妹にお願いされ助けてといわれ贄の祭壇へ。まあ桜は巫女だから当然阻止しないといけない。でもカレンはこういった(これ自分で翻訳したやつだから間違ってるかもしれん)贄を必要とする神なんて邪神に決まってる、桜そこをどいて！そんで祭壇にあがったもののすでに時は遅し狐の神にその少女はとっくにくわれてしまった。怒り狂ったカレンは狐の神を殺そうとするが。崩壊の意思とも言われる黒い箱の中の悪魔に止められる。黒の箱の悪魔は憎しみや悲しみなどの負の感情を持った人を依り代にできるだから桜を依り代にカレンとっただかってた。カレンは崩壊の意思から桜を救いと思ったとそれは悪魔の罠でカレンは不意打ちをくらい瀕死。トドメを刺そうとする悪魔は最後桜の意思によって自決するものの悪魔は狐の神に乗り移り今度は桜を自身の一部として取り込もうとするがカレンはそれを阻止しようとしていた(ここから空白多分失敗したと思う)500年後カレンの子孫であるキアナは偶然彼女を見つけると同時にこういった崩壊から生まれし少女よ君はてきか？桜はカレンと瓜二つのキアナをみて涙を流していた(終わり)
