he made this entire album only using a nintendo 3ds with software from korg, if that isn’t a massive flex then i don’t know what else is

I think he did most of it on the Nintendo but some mixing on computer fur sure.
Because there is some serious sounddesign going on. Dont know how you would do that on a Nintendo

This entire album felt like materialising inside an old 3ds’ sd card and reviving the lifespan of our childhood best video games. I ever listened to these menu, settings, internet settings etc. themes fascinated, thinking about the composer creating just a background music but knowing it would be more in our memories. You were capable of making us feel these sensations; it was a journey in a world closed, unreachable for the first time today. You gotta live the experience in your childhood to live Music for Menus.

the knowledge that this was produced on a 3ds makes it more powerful as an album i think

idk if this is true but the KORG DSN-12 is actually mad powerful as both a sequencer and a synth. its basically a mini daw
this sounds closer to the KORG M01D tho, which is almost like a daw mixed with a casio keyboard (also a 3ds app)

@@birchwwolf The Korg x Nintendo stuff is by far the most interesting use of the system next to the petit computer series. The original DS releases and the two 3ds ones are really well designed. There's also one for the Switch but i haven't used that one as of yet. TL;DR they are very well worth the price of admission as a tool to build music. I use them in production as well and then clean up the rest within Reason.

For real though, I'm happy to see you embracing in this ambient/prog electronic direction. all the sounds you've honed over the years have a lot of character so giving them their own space to establish an atmosphere free of beats is definitely the best move. Looking forward to the next album

Why do I fucking love your concepts so much?
Listening to this thinking about how I first found out about Blank Banshee in 2016 (one of my favourite years of my life) while I was in highschool still. The week after I found out about him he dropped M E G A and to this day I still listen to Frozen Flame because it's one of my all time favourite songs, the album was also the first album I ever bought for myself with the little money I had at the time and was also how I found out about Bandcamp. Blank Banshee just reminds me of happy times, I feel relaxed, like I'm somewhere comfortable and can let my guard down. I will support his music until the day I die. Thank you Banshee, thank you for the years upon years of unique music that I can keep coming back to and enjoy.

It really is hard to explain in words, the deep, complex emotions he conveys through his work. All of it super healing.
It's definitely inspired by Music For Airports (as if the title isn't an obvious enough reference). I love it.
