I knew Simon was going to nitpick the performance, just by watching him. And they didn't show the whole 30 seconds, they cut part of it. It was amazing.
Simon was right' because you people forgot about how Stevie wonder hold notes steady in a song' Johnny himself is an amazing singer' but his pace was a bit too fast in delivering the bars of that song, and his continued holding position' after he held a note are shakey or a bit wobbly sometimes, damn good voice' but remember it was Stevie wonder's song he was doing

No, Simon Was Completely Right I Was Rooting For Johnny From The Jump & Knew He Was Gonna Get The Buzzer Regardless But That Stevie Song Wasnt A Good Choice For Him At All I Was Lost It Didnt Show Off His Voice Abilities All Though He Killed The Notes Im Glad Simon Made Him Sing Whitney Again
I think Simon likes to manipulate and control things, and wanted Johnny to get the Golden Buzzer, which he could get with his audition song, but not this song.

What I think you fail to understand is Johnny, though he has a high range, aspires to be a classic singer. Period. If he had done another song showcasing his high range, people would’ve grown tired of it sooner. He chose the perfect song and added the perfect twist. He clearly told Simon and everyone he wants to be like the great classics. The great classics don’t sing super high throughout an entire song. They mix soul, range and things like trills and runs to create a classic. That’s what Johnny did- while still showcasing his extremely high range so he was perfect. Even Mel B said he was flawless. Everyone except you knows Simon was tripping. His trills were the exact same as Stevie’s and he took them up a notch like he should have. Try and have perspective.
Simon’s comments re: to Stevie Wonder was nasty & self-serving. He didn’t complain about Johnny doing a Whitney song. I think this undeserved remark became a major setback to his career.

The thing i don't understand about Simon's comment is him being against the trills he did, when those were almost the exact one's stevie did 😕
