Beautiful hill country. No people, no cattle no structures and just 7 oncoming vehicles in 27 minutes... what a place to find one's inner self! Thanks again. I was riding with, just not able to share snacks!
You will see cattle often, sometimes venture out onto the roads. It is open range for much of the drive down 191. A beautiful road that intersects 191 about 10 - 15 miles south of Rock Springs is Firehole Canyon road. Absolutely stunning desert landscape down there leading to the Wyoming side of the Flaming Gorge
Thank you for taking us along. I shared with my truck driver friend, he's been sick, he's 64 yrs old, had to stop driving out west.. I rode with him from Iowa to south of LA to Seattle, maybe we were on this Hwy.. he will love the ride alone. Bet he's in tear at the moment !!! God bless your travels.. WOW ♥️👍😁♥️
nothing like a beautiful open road, scenic views and cloud formations. and the sound of my Harley pipes rumbling. and a nice blues tune. thanks Mike. you picked a winner.
Just happened to see your site. My grandma was born in Wyoming on Horse Creek. Out in no man's land. Family cemetery on a hill see for miles only rocks and steep hills. Thanks really brought back memories.
Enjoyed the drive. I just took 2 weeks and drove to Cali from WA over to Reno thru Donner Pass. I loved the drive from Reno to Ontario, OR thru Winnemucca. The sagebrush was a beautiful green and the wild purple flowers were in full bloom. The weather was challenging to say the least, snow, rain, wind, and hail, I felt like a postal worker!!!
I just retired and moved to 191& Rock Springs. A perfect hub to explore many areas. This is my first winter and I-80 was closed both East and West this past week. Huge amount of truckers were stranded in RS. It was fun listening to their stories as they swamped the restaurants . This road has those huge beautiful Valleys on both sides as you head to the dam. I drive over the dam then back through Green River. Pack the cooler, and take a lap. Already done it 4 times. I love it here!
I like it....a lot. Wow, what spectacular wide open country and a really cool scenic and smooth flowing road. Want to go camping there !!! Thanks for the ride along, Mr. Mike !
When I would travel from Michigan to Oregon and back in the early 70’s I would stop at a “” hole in the wall” restaurant as I called it in Rock Springs. The owner was an ex Navy cook. In those days your ham was on one plate, your double yolk eggs and hash browns on another. None of the plates, cups or silverware matched. Never been on 191 south or north. Looks like a great road for motorcycle or sports car. Been on 287 from Rawlins to 26 to Dubois then Jackson Hole. Thanks for the trip.
My son and family made this trip after visiting Dinosaur National Monument. Hiway 191 going North of Vernal, Utah is an awesome drive whether on motorcycle, or whatever. It's just a great drive with lots of views. Thanks for highlighting it on your trucking route.
Up and over Miller Mountain, Wyoming 82901 and then along HY 191-North at high altitude (7,500' - 8.000'?) with the dramatic sky that seems to go on forever (Rock Springs is at 6,388 feet). Great views in all directions and the late spring season has got everything greened up nicely. Once the heat of the summer sweeps in, I betting it will brown out quickly, like here in SoCal. You were fortunate to not have much wind and the rain storms in the distance were awesome. It ain't Montana but sure seems like Big Sky country for sure. You're right to comment on the beauty of this road. These videos are pure art. Reminds me of Edward Abbey's book, "Desert Solitaire", I read while driving the southwest years ago. I toured the Continental Divide from Glacier Park in Montana, Yellowstone to the Tetons in Wyoming, on down to Estes and Colorado National Park in Colorado. From there in Denver to Vegas, across Arizona to the White mountains and then on down to Guaymas Mexico. Back up to Death Valley and on up and over the Sierra Nevada's from Reno to San Francisco. Three months total in the autumn of '77, living out of a car, camping and hiking the national parks with a friend. We would share driving and obviously had times "riding shotgun." Your videos bring back some good memories and I'm now getting a chance to see more of the country. This is one of your best videos. One of the reasons I subscribed to your channel is getting to see the different parts of the west. Now I know why my father in law lives out in Wyoming. Take care and be safe.
I look forward to your videos. Another amazing ride. You're very lucky to have a job that takes you on some of the most beautiful places in America. I feel blessed every time I get to ride with you. Stay safe. Peace !!!
I think the highway is beautiful although I would not like to drive it in the winter thanks anyway. I was the first woman in British Columbia to drive a logging truck. Weighing in at 98 pounds and 5'1. Those were horrible roads, up and down the sides of mountains, of course no pavement. The guys bet me I couldn't so I had to show them lol. You are great. Love your videos. Thanks so much.
Last summer 2018, I drove from Central Oregon to Western New York .... and part of my beautiful travels was through WYOMING !!!! WHAT A STUNNER !!!!!!!!!! i have been to nearly 40 states .... and to travel through the WIDE OPEN WEST is BREATHTAKING !!!! GOD ALMIGHTY HAS CREATED SO MUCH AWE AND WONDER !!!!!!!!!
Henrik : You don’t know truth if you don’t believe in the Triune God, Father, Son & Holy Spirit. May the Lord change your heart so you may put your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord & Savior from your sins.
Wow, absolutely beautiful. Thank you! Two things that did come to mind. 1, would have been really a surprise to drive that at night and pull off for a rest and wake up to those amazing hills and valleys. The 2nd, wouldn't want to be there in a lightning storm.
That’s a killer road that I would love to take my sports bike on, I would open that baby up! Love your videos of the open road, not to many people get to experience that freedom. 🇺🇸👍
My grandfather was a pioneer in the area (Brown's Park) near where you are driving. Loved the drive when we were there several years ago. Brown's Park is known as Brown's Hole in history books. It is the high desert valley where Ashley traded beads for furs with the Indians. Thanks for posting, from Texas.
@Doug Kirk Butch Cassidy rode quarter horses for my ancestor before he started robbing. My GGF sold mules & horses to the armies of the world as they came to America to purchase them in Nebraska.
Hey Mike sometime you should take Hiway 530 south of Green River to Manila along the west side of Flaming George then back to 191 to Vernal. I used to go that way a lot when I live in Green River back in the late 1980;s . I was always loaded heavy in both directions no problem. I used to haul corn to Manila , Vernal and Roosevelt to some ranchers.
Awesome views, I try to find driver's who take state roads so I can see where I want to drive. I RV FT in a Roadtrek, so this has given me a new road to check out. Thanks!
These are awesome drives especially for me from South Louisiana :) , I remember similar on way to Carlsbad, hwy 375 little shortcut by El Paso to I-62 and then later on 62 before Pine Springs...Now i'm sitting ducks so it's nice to ride with you...edit: ohh this is old video, it was for some reason in my recommended now
lve driven 1 millon miles 40 yrs .love any roadtrip!neverbeen in wy. you renew my roadtrip spirit.thanks.those open areasare so relaxing.here in south texas we have many.
Another wonderful ride along. Thanks. Landscape reminded me a lot of Hwy 285 through South Park without the canyons or the traffic and with more curves. I think they should put the "rumble" notification for leaving your lane in passenger cars and pickups. I'm so tired of driving up the canyons along the Front Range, heading into a corner and realizing the oncoming vehicle is part way in my lane. Had it happen in the Black Hills once, but it was a tour bus completely in my lane. I'm sure you encounter this everywhere you drive.
Yeah you are right. That is the most beautiful road with all the valleys. It is lonelier than highway 50. At least there were more cars. I would like to ride that highway anytime. Truck 'em easy my friend. See you on the flip flop. Peace back at you.
Mike, I agree with you that this has to be the best drive video you have done. Of course i like the snow videos also. Maybe one day I will be able to take that same drive through Wyoming. Beautiful country. Proud to be an American.
We went south on this on our trip in June. On Google it looked like it would be a boring ride. Were we ever wrong, it was breathtaking and one of the more memorable parts of our trip.
I'm planning my next road trip to go on the 191. I'm with you, this is a great highway. I don't have a sports car or motorcycle but this has to be peaceful and good for the soul. I watched this on 12/10/2019, I'll wait for the summer to go on my road trip.
Yes Michael, I agree 100% buddy! Great scenic views and I always looked US 191 when I was able to travel north and south bound with lite loads. Thanks for the memories and sharing with us! Be safe and as always...... Peace, my friend!
Hi Mike, I'm from South Africa and wish I could be there in the cab with you but I do enjoy being your virtual passenger. If I may make a suggestion, would you please share some of your trip statistics with us such as outside temperature, speed you travel at, compass direction, geographical elevation, gear selection etc. I have enjoyed your one video on Douglas pass in snow immensely with the commentary about how you approach the pass eg use of throttle, brakes, Jake brake etc. Keep it up and safe driving. God bless.
Man I am glad I found this channel thru the recommendations on BigRigTravels channel. Too bad my Dad as a truck driver doesn't get to see this kind of scenery, as he mainly drives E of the Muddy Mississippi. Thanks for taking us along for the ride.
Hmmm.... 12 other cars on the road. Getting kind of crowded, need to go further out - 😉⛰. That’s almost the perfect highway. Too many high mountains feels claustrophobic. I am right there with you and all of your comments. And yes, probably a little different in the winter time. Got to be tough to live in Wyoming. Much appreciate the drives you show us.
Traveled that road several times. First time in 1974. I can tell which direction you're going, ( whether north or south), by the terrain and the slope of the road.
This is the most beautiful ride! Thanks for taking us along. My husband is working from home while we are on this quarantine lockdown so we watch one of your videos every day while we eat lunch. It’s like being there. Thanks so much for all you share. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I agree with you on this video. I have only recently subscribed to your channel, but your open country western US videos are beautiful. I enjoy the the commentary and history of the areas rather than music as well.
This topography indicates either this land was very old mountains eroded into rolling foothills or this land was at one time underwater. HWY 191 has been impressive and we're thoroughly enjoying riding shotgun. Thanks!
Doesn't that go to Manilla? Firehole Canyon somewhere on the left of the road. Really cool to travel at night with a full moon. Been there, done that many times. Been years since I've been there. Caught the full moon coming up on top of the mesa. A sight to remember for life. Thanks dude for what you are doing. Your travels bring up many memories of a younger day.
My friend and I drove this beautiful road in May 2017. Rock Springs to the Flaming Gorge. Then from the Flaming Gorge to Rock Springs. Was snowing on the trip north.
Wow! Just came across this adventure - what a ride! Gottta run this baby one day. And Montana thinks they've got the big sky, well... This is indeed a beautiful "Sunday drive highway" without the unbeautiful Sunday traffic, and a perfect time of year to boot. Thanks, Mike! This is just outta sight! Stay safe and keep filmin' and chattin' to all us adventure-hungry shotgunners.
Wow MMM, you're so right! This was a great one! I was you'd take us all the way to Rockport! Boo Hiss!! Thanks anyway tho!! I've always wanted to go to Wyoming and Montana from what I've seen on Western movies! Example: Lonesome Dove and True Grit! Beautiful!!
I've ridden "all over" the Rocky Mountain West on motorcycles, back in my day, but missed this road. The view with the camera is just like riding without a fairing except it's a little higher up, makes the video very "in the wind" like, without the wind noise. Beautiful country with the freshness of spring and a lack of fences make this a jewel of a road. Thanks for letting me "ride shotgun".
I share your definitions of a great western road, which the 191 is. Traffic is much heavier and touristy in the summer, so you have a lot more roadblocks to endure from snails (folks who carry their homes on their back), rubberneckers, and of course cops. But it is a very fine motorcycle road as it is mostly hi-speed sweepers that you can lock in a tighter lean angle than you need and accelerate through and out of them. Also quite fun in a SRT 392 Chally!
I just road this on my Harley Streetglide, its awesome, whats great is how there is like almost no cars. Its gnarly, dont look down, just awesome. once you get in Utah it keeps geting more and more insane. Your going north i went South off 80
okay I think I remember now. I think I was on 191 north of rock springs coming down from Washington state. Driving 18, oh those were the good old days. Keep on trucking! Jim BCC AZ
Love your videos. I planning to do a road trip in October to the western states like Utah Wyoming and Idaho. Can you recommend some must drive roads. Ty
It's a great stretch of open uncluttered road. Out in the country; wide open spaces. Very relaxing and pleasing to the eye! 10+ I love your videos BTW.
First time watching this one I've seen from vernal to flaming gorge 4 times beautiful country this one absolutely beautiful country anyways thanks for the ride along nice and smooth. Be safe out there in America
The most spectacular thing being a trucker is you get to take a closer look at the nature despite many shortcomings...
these hwys are the saviors.. lol
Beautiful hill country. No people, no cattle no structures and just 7 oncoming vehicles in 27 minutes... what a place to find one's inner self! Thanks again. I was riding with, just not able to share snacks!
your welcome Ken and thanks for watching!

Great video !!! Beautiful scenery, great road, what more can you say? Top five , best footage ever filmed! Take care, safe journeys! Thanks
right on Saul.. Thanks
Man I have drove that Highway 100 times and it never ceases to amaze me how beautiful it is
Just happened to see your site. My grandma was born in Wyoming on Horse Creek. Out in no man's land. Family cemetery on a hill see for miles only rocks and steep hills.
Thanks really brought back memories.
awesome kathy.. Thanks for watching!!
That was a very beautiful ride. Really enjoy the scenery and peaceful trip
Thank you Judy and thanks for watching!
1977 was the last time I was on U.S 191 . Not much has changed in 40 plus years . I enjoy your videos bring back a lot of memories Thanx .
your welcome Charles.. and thanks for watching!

Gorgeous, spectacular drive. Glad you captured that. Like driving though an old landscape painting.

Yes! I'm right there with ya! A beautiful road indeed! And thanks for doing the driving so I can sit back sip some bourbon and just enjoy the scenery.

Why do you have to bring your sky daddy into this? Can't nature be beautiful by itself?
That's so amazing. I've traveled thousands of miles too 💕
@Doug Kirk I'm sorry but faith isn't a reliable method for finding truth. Science however is!

That’s a killer road that I would love to take my sports bike on, I would open that baby up! Love your videos of the open road, not to many people get to experience that freedom. 🇺🇸👍
Thanks Paul.. wouldnt it be great to just let er rip?? lol.. thanks for watching!
I’ve driven this road back when I worked the oil fields out of rock springs. Beautiful relaxing and good for the soul
Love your quality and clarity of the scenery.
My grandfather was a pioneer in the area (Brown's Park) near where you are driving. Loved the drive when we were there several years ago. Brown's Park is known as Brown's Hole in history books. It is the high desert valley where Ashley traded beads for furs with the Indians. Thanks for posting, from Texas.
right on Richard.. thanks for watching!!
@Doug Kirk Butch Cassidy rode quarter horses for my ancestor before he started robbing. My GGF sold mules & horses to the armies of the world as they came to America to purchase them in Nebraska.

I love watching your trips, especially the "back highways". Gives me good ideas of routes to take with my wife on a week long road trip.

Another great ride in this beautiful country. Thanks Mike.

Yes Michael, I agree 100% buddy! Great scenic views and I always looked US 191 when I was able to travel north and south bound with lite loads. Thanks for the memories and sharing with us! Be safe and as always...... Peace, my friend!
right on Les!!
A very cool road. For me my favorites were in Oregon and Washington. I really liked driving some of those wooded mountain roads.

Fossils everywhere down through there
Your not kidding! That is a breathtaking panorama the whole way! Thanks

Beautiful. Thanks for sharing. Third time I’ve watched it ☺️
Man I ready to ride That road... I bet the wind feels good...
Best 3 video views I have seen from any truckers I watch. Views have been fantastic. Thanks.
right on Fred.. Appreciate it.. Thanks for watching!
100% totally cool highway! Would like to drive it myself, but for now thanks for driving and letting me ride along. Be safe.
I live in England and our country is so small compared to yours. Would love a highway like that, hardly any vehicles and stunning views. Brilliant.
im glad i was able to share it with ya Chris.. thanks for watching.
The whole 191 trip was great. Thanks for sharing as i would never be went there
your welcome Glenn.. thanks for watching!
Your going north i went South off 80
Another great video Mike. thanks for the ride. Stay safe out there.
your welcome Sherry.. thanks for watching!
okay I think I remember now. I think I was on 191 north of rock springs coming down from Washington state. Driving 18, oh those were the good old days. Keep on trucking! Jim BCC AZ

Beautiful highway! I grew up in Wyoming but I had never heard of 191, got to travel it when I get back there again.
Absolutely Verna.. love this highway
The clouds look awesome! Good reminder of warm spring and summer months when its currently winter.
Absolutely agree !!! An especially nice piece of highway. Thanks for letting me ride along.
anytime Rashinn.. Thanks for watching!
My first First Viewing. Up to 1 minute so far. Beautiful scenic views. Reminds me of some of the views approaching the Southern Alps in New Zealand.
would love to drive New Zealand .. Thanks for watching Alan!
Love your videos. I planning to do a road trip in October to the western states like Utah Wyoming and Idaho. Can you recommend some must drive roads. Ty
What a spectacular road with beautiful views. Riding the mountain tops!
I do enjoy these videos, a way to visit without driving out from Wisconsin.
A great road, seems to flow with the landscape!
Could not agree more with you Mike, great open, rolling , winding road .
right on Victor.. Loved every minute of it..
I agree with you, that was nice and I would love to drive on that Highway
One of your best videos ever. The road is spell binding...the kind that calls to you, to come drive me.
It's a great stretch of open uncluttered road. Out in the country; wide open spaces. Very relaxing and pleasing to the eye! 10+ I love your videos BTW.
Like you said, that's a driver highway. Thanks for the ride along.
absolutely.. Thanks for watching
Thank you definitely a great road I appreciate the ride

Be safe out there in America
Droving truck for over 40 years now, been down every back road in the west. Love that solitude.
