Great video! Love watching you guys! I am 25 and have glaucoma. Was diagnosed at 23 and have had several surgeries to get it under control. Legally blind now, but still have a little vision. Watching you guys had been a huge encouragement to me and given me better perspective on life as it is now. I basically became a recluse the first year or so, but am getting social again and trying new things and it makes a huge difference! It is easy to feel isolated when you are blind and making the effort to get out again and participate once more helps so much. We still have so much life to live! 😊

Separately you two guys are a hoot, but together? INCORRIGIBLE! LOL Actually I do have a question for either or both of you, prompted from a memory of many decades ago that has always bothered me -- a middle school aquaintance was blind or very low vision - the only in our tiny town/school. Too much for me to type here, but wish for your feedback as youngsters at the pre-teen/early teen years, navigating those angst years, and other related questions; peer friends, etc. Is there a way to leave an audio question?

Tim Everett 😀 I was out with my boyfriend, who is also blind, and because we’re both right handed cane users, I hold onto his right arm with my left hand. Well...I messed up once and grabbed a hold of a strange man who felt just like him. I wanted the ground to open up so badly! ☺️😊

You two are so funny! I would totally do what sam said about announcing my visual impairment to a room. I am all about efficiency! why beat around teh bush and make things harder? lol. I have sadly been having alot of medical issues, and leaving the house is difficult or impossible alot of the time-so i havent been able to go do anything that was intimidating lately. I have done things that were from time to time though. I am fairly outgoing, and I have done enough since my sight loss began that things are not really that intmidating anymore i suppose. Being alone though can sometimes get to me. I actually have a funny story about trying to find my husband in the store, I should prob do a video of that!

I’ve been blind since I’ve been six months old. And going to family gatherings and stuff like that it’s no big deal. I don’t understand why people who is legally blind make a big fuss out of going somewhere or if they married and your wives or husbands go out make it such a big deal it’s not that big of a deal and I’m not like you and Sam I don’t have any site like you and Sam I’ve been blind blind since six months old. And I’ve been doing things since I’ve been knee-high to a grasshopper I left home eight years old to 16 to go to camp every summer I left home like my other sisters and brothers at the age of 16. He was a tomboy. Jumped out of trees, jump off the roof of a house, climb fences, rode a bicycle down to the upstairs, slid down banisters, cousin had me in the car driving, and I don’t have any site like you and Sam. So I don’t know why or understand why you’re making a big deal of things I don’t understand just my opinion

Hey there! Thanks for your comment! My channel is geared towards folks who have gone through sight loss at some point in their lives. That's why Sam and I (who have both gone through sight loss) are discussing it from this point of view. However, that's not to say that folks like you who have been blind since birth cannot watch my videos. In fact, I welcome different perspectives such as your own. It shows that we all have different experiences with blindness. Some things that are big deals for some folks may not be for others. Blindness is a spectrum and we can all learn from one another. Thanks for sharing!

@@LifeAfterSightLoss you’re welcome anytime. Yes I can tell or understand that you and Sam lost vision later in life. But still have some vision. Where me and myself went blind at six months old. And I don’t know what color it is or any of the things that y’all see I don’t understand. Because I never had vision and lost it later. So I want to say thank you to you for doing these TH-cam videos for those who lose their vision later in life. Two parents who have children who is blind or visually impaired. Thank you so much

Yeah, there are times where theaters do the assigned seating. Me and my fiancé went to the AMC in Disney Springs to see Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and they had assigned seating because of how packed the theater was going to be due to it being opening night and we had it near the speakers on the floor. I had the audio description and it was low at times due to how loud the sound got and how loud everyone was laughing including my fiancé. The only time it got ahead was...sorry if anyone has not seen it...was when Groot brings the toe and it described it seconds before my fiancé saw it and I busted out laughing and then he did with everyone else. I think I put Stan Lee's cameo from that as the Best Stan Lee Cameo since it matches his real life personality at conventions. With movies I rarely go alone since I can see most of them on Netflix if I missed any.
