Hi Michael, with indoor mode is the 3” levelling still active? I'm assuming it is and it's just the collimation and distance checks that are omitted, along with a lower point density and distance. Please can you confirm? Are there any differences with indoor mode for the x9, I think it supports precision point as well. Thanks

Hi! Yes, you are right. There is no difference between X7 and X9 in auto level compensation accuracy. In indoor mode (up to 30m) both scanner works faster thanks to auto-calibration elimination (only on 1 station). Precision points also supported both. X9 with latest software get the new area scan feature.

Is the scanner able to registrer an upside down scan with a regular scan ?
    Thanks !

Yes, the Trimble X7 can scan upside down. Self-Leveling should be enabled and upside down scans will be leveled if tilt is within the range of ±10°. The scan will be flipped automatically after it is captured so it can be registered.
The Trimble X7 can be tilted up to 45° and successfully scan. Self-Leveling should be enabled even though the acquired scan will be flagged as "Not leveled". Perspective software will be able to automatically register the scan if there is sufficient overlap with the scan you’re trying to register to. If the instrument is tilted > 45° from either side of its vertical axis, Perspective software displays an error message and prevents scan acquisition, unless the scanner is upside down and tilt is within a range of ±10°. In this case the scan will be leveled.

You can do this with the latest perspective version.
