If anyone wants to know why major sounds "happy" and minor "sad", it's a mix of two things. First is that the major chord exists in the overtone series, making it sound bright and resonant (like a happy dood), but the minor chord doesn't. So it sounds a bit less resonant and like a sad man (very sad time). The other reason is a cultural one, because we were born seeing them this way it helps this feeling. With hardstyle, I find it’s better to use ear vs music theory, as usually the “instruments” your working with, are detuned, so your C on one may be an A on another depending on detuning of synth voices. All that being said: when you use your ears vs conventional music theory, that does not apply or matter.
