gRPC is a high performance, language-neutral, general RPC framework developed and open sourced by Google. Built on the HTTP/2 standard, gRPC brings many benefits such as bidirectional streaming, flow control, header compression, multiplexing and more. In this session, you will learn about gRPC and how you can use it in your Java applications through a series of code samples and demos.

I'm a Developer Advocate at Google, currently focused on helping developers with Google Cloud Platform. As a long-time Java and a recent C# developer, I like to compare the two ecosystems. Prior to Google, I worked at Microsoft, Skype, Adobe, EMC, and Nokia building apps and services on various web, mobile and cloud platforms. The core talks starts at 20:30
The intro story is worthwhile a hear
People are complaining about this presentation in the comment section. This points might help you:
* People are expected to know a little bit of java in a java conference.
* History is necessary to know why some decisions were made, what were the shortcomings of previous technologies.
* You can seek the video if you want to.
* Finally, It's a pretty good talk
thank you very much taking about the evolution of RPC, design aspects, this gives better understanding as to what flexibility is provided in gRPC.
the best introduction of RPC ! Thank you !!
I really impress by watching this video.
Great stuff mate, you're a legend good stuff
Good intro to gRPC, liked it
Such a great talk! Thank you.
Great talk. Thanks 👍
Thank you
The intro was a bit too long for me.
2 things worth noting here: 1) The talk is called Introduction... to gRPC 2) You can skip ahead.
He knows his stuff but he explained it very poorly
This is a talk to people who don't know gRPC and want to get a quick overview
The code samples he picked are bad too. There are too much unrelated stuff in the Java code, so much distraction
It's way easier to just check the gRPC official site.
5 minutes reading explained all the concepts and basic usages
too much intro..... bad talk!!!!
