I guess the part that he abandoned two families is left out of his bio. He walked out on his wife and two children over 30 years ago while they were out of the house and never looked back. You would think all is of this is penance, but it's just narcissism.
Abandoned not one, but two families and three kids. Couldn't make it in academia without playing the politics and working towards his goals. His ego wouldn't let him not be a big shot so he took the easy path out and went to where he was the big kahuna without having to work for it. I feel bad for the people he fooled with his so called spirituality and greatness. Does he ever acknowledge or mention the families he crippled with his selfishness? Of course not. My mother suffered tremendously because of her undying love for a man she saved from suicide who abandoned her without a care. Thankfully, she has passed on to a better place and is now at peace. He will pass soon as well but without any of the blessings of his children.

Looks like he married at a young age and as it happens with people they grow up in their 20s and a lot of things don't make sense to them later. Unfortunately, for some it's their arranged marriage. But yes leaving a child behind is very sad. He was in his second marriage for quite sometime. He provided for them. People with family joining a guru is always a disgruntling experience for the family left behind. But getting fascinated with Osho is understandable. It could happen to people with a philosophical bent of mind. I don't know who told you about his political moves in academia and how he ruined families? Can you elaborate? About ego! Well ambitious people come across as egoistic at times.
