      I remember a big bang theory episode where Sheldon decides to stay in bed and drive a robot around because he's scared of the outside world. I'm thinking it would be cool to have a screen on the face of the robot that is hooked up to ta camera pointed at the operator. So you could sit in bed while driving around a humanoid robot with proper speech, movement and facial expressions. Sheldon's dream

    hey James! I follow your channel since a while.. great job! keep on building!
    i have a suggestion for the actuators of the mounting head. instead of printing a lever in abs and ninja flex, why don't use a threaded bar with two uniball jonts at the end? I guess you will have a better control on the moviment. You can use the same joint type at the end of the linear actuators. I am pretty sure you will have less wobbling in the torso.
    good luck with the project!

  • @ubergarchomp1388
    @ubergarchomp1388 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    For your next project, you could make Kaneki's Kagune from Tokyo Ghoul using motion capture to record your movements and make it move with gestures. That would be awesome if you could pull it off! :D

What if you made it so ultron could copy your moves. you could wear the suit underneath your iron man suit and move around. I have to say I'm really surprise how fast and natural those movements are...with just a little bit of tweaking this will be very smooth and just the right amount of life-like. I like it:)
    Though I think that it would be also great if the robot would be also sometimes controlled by hidden actor which could really convince public that it is alive:) This real-time motion capture solution offers many possibilities.

    James, i will try to write this in english (let's see if i will be able to pass my thoughts)
    did you see that video with that guy flying over the sea using someking of "drone" under his feet?!?!
    whhhyyyyyyyyyyyy you dont try to do de exactly same things using 4 smallers engines than that one but that in the end will have the same power...
    try to replicate the project of "tony stark" in the iron man 1.... remember the first "flying test" ?!?!exactly this one....
    you could use smallers rotors in whicn hand and feet .... using somekind of Y design, where your hands and feets will be in the middle of the to lines of Y.... you could do this desing using somekind of 3D printers.... and use one battery backpack to hold all the batteries...
    (i hope you see my coment)

    Simply amazing James! I have a question for you. Do you plan on ever getting a 3-d printer that prints metal parts? Also, it would be really cool if you were to make your own acid sketched metal detail parts. It would add a lot to the final design of all your models. And once again thanks for all your hard work!

  • @TheSherminator88
    @TheSherminator88 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    James, what you doing it's increndible. But you should research about biomechanisms, beacuse in humans the elbows have completely autonomy to elevate the arms without lifting the scalpulas (the bones in form of wings on the back).

  • @DLamp
    @DLamp 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wow, James... I wasn't so sure about this project in the beginning but you proved me wrong. This is brilliant! And quite a nice touch to make him move by sensors on a model! Can't wait to see that.

  • @a_literal_brick

    I still don't think that uler angles can come close to the articulation of an actual human shoulder.

  • @JonesMcZac
    @JonesMcZac 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    hi James, I looked a bit closer to the shoulder movement. Don't you think there is missing an axis? It's like, when you look from the side he can't move his arm forwards and backwards, in terms of having a horizontal axis sticking out of the schoulder. But I think this is essential for e.g. shaking hands. and it would make him move a lot more human like.. But nonetheless, absolutely great job! I'm really interested how it's gonna turn out in the end..

  • @mastercylinder82
    @mastercylinder82 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    does anyone else think this is going a little too well? i mean, how smart is this thing going to be? i'm just saying, this could end up going the same way the real ultron story did. good thing james has a hulkbuster suit, just in case. Ultron looks AMAZE BALLS btw.

  • @alexanderbott8057
    @alexanderbott8057 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    I love the organic-based shoulder mechanism. Are you going to give him any pre-programmed movement sequences for when not using the motion capture? I think it would be really cool to see him rolling his shoulders & neck as if stretching.

  • @1894db
    @1894db 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Will the shoulders rotate up and down? The arms can't even go parallel with the shoulder at this point.
    Also in humans the neck muscles form a sort of V shape on the sides, and you've inverted that and put them much closer together on the front of Ultron's neck. Is it because of mechanical limitations?
