      I imagine most people who are angered about race, are angry at the double standard that exists and is perpetuated in the current liberal world. It’s “cultural appropriation”, “whitewashing” and wrong for Europeans to embrace or partake in any other cultures. This is not seen in the reverse.
      It is ok and even praised to have other ethnicities assimilate into, partake in, and even mock European cultures. I guess when some Nordic peoples look to their history and embrace that culture, they don’t think it fair that others should as well.

      @bobmalibaliyahmarley1551 3 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      @@Kvacantirovic ''Conquer lands'' the way other nations have conquered to rule was not what the Vikings did, maybe some I can't speak for them all, but the general idea of their raids was to find wealth and riches, BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY was to find land where they could farm and harvest to survive. The reason why Vikings raided in the first place was because they wanted to survive, major parts of Scandinavia is mountain terrain and infertile land, and due to the cold weather the Vikings had a hard time growing crops. The general idea was for them to find new lands where they could farm and live a good life, the raiding part was only a ''bonus'' which was the culture back in those days, it was a more ruthless time to live in. Vikings never conducted ''ethnically cleansing'', stop pulling ideas out of your ass. Vikings sailed to the middle east and all over the world because they were curious and wanted to see what was out there, and learn of other cultures. Read up on history before you try to make lies comes off as facts. I am confident enough to argue that if there was anyone who suffered ''cleansing'' from the Vikings, it was themselves. Vikings wasn't a unified people for hundreds of years, and during those days I am willing to argue there was as much, if not more bloodshed due to norse on norse combat than done in their times raiding, if you really want to get technical on the ''ethnic'' part, I am willing to argue that more vikings have died by viking hands than any other culture. Scandinavia, before, during and after the ''golden age'' of the vikings was always plagued by war and skirmishes, since the people of Scandinavia was for hundreds of years ruled by small kings, controlling small territories and always trying to one up each other. My point is, Vikings/Norsemen never hated someone because they looked physically different, ''ethnicity'' wasn't even a word or an idea that existed for the norsemen, and most of their victims from the English islands pretty much looked very similar to the vikings in many ways. But if you want to believe otherwise, be my guest, but you are wrong.

      Vikings were notoriously egalitarian. Russian, Arabic, English, Indian, Italian, and Spanish trade goods have been found in Viking excavations. They adopted other gods and religions way more often than they spread their own. Vikings loved to interact with other cultures, more often peacefully than not. In Newfoundland and Vinland, they set up peaceful colonies that coexisted with native Americans for the time they survived there.
      Vikings weren’t bloodthirsty warmongers or savage raiders. They preferred not to fight. They were just damn scary and good at it when they did, and that’s where the reputation comes from.

      The issue with fear is that it's often irrational. Fear is something you can create in others through propaganda. Allowing fear based on lies to dictate policy is an awesome way to run society straight into totalitarianism, which we see happen in places like Hungary and Poland, for instance. It's easier to drum up fear and assign blame (in this case to immigrants) than it is to deal with the underlying systematic issues that would actually make society better. If you want to live in fear, and in a society ruled by it, that's your choice. I for sure don't.

They take temporary labourers from Bangladesh and Pakistan and pay them a pittance, hold their passports and house them in substandard accommodation and have them work in unsafe environments. And these are Muslims like themselves. I believe it is quite obvious that there is a widespread and organised attempt to change the demographics of Europe with never ending mass migration. And I think the evidence for this is overwhelming. The motives for it, and who exactly is behind it, can be debated, but the fact that it is happening cannot be denied.

They weren't that interested in forcing their religion upon people they conquered, unlike other Christian kingdoms such as the Frankish Kingdom under Charlemagne, or the Byzantines. In fact, you see the Vikings slowly adopting Christianity over time. So in that regard, compared to their historical counterparts, you could argue that they were rather tolerant.

I'm in atheist from a Muslim-majority country. If I immigrate, it's because I am at complete odds with the far-right, socially and economically repressive, Islamic culture. I do not owe my parent's culture my commitment. I have more in common with non-Muslims, of all ethnicities abroad in hobbies, music tastes and perhaps even politics, than with my neighbors or family. @@gustafsvensson5840 they settled Iceland, Greenland, Discovered the Americas first, traded all over Europe and the middle east, they fought for them selves and others. Such as the Byzantines.
      They settled Normandie which would give birth to Richard Lionheart who would conquer england.
      They Settled in lands that is now Russia. Which gives alot of Slavic people swedish/Finnish/Norwegian heritage and customs.
      They influenced English the most widely spoken language in the world.
      Barbarian is not the proper term for these people's.
      Also you can't point at the vikings and say they are barbaric, when people all over Europe, Africa, Middle East etc did things just as bad as them. During wars and raids OR worst.. Good example the Aztec, for worst... With human sacrifice.

    Ridiculous....Nordic people have ancestors who are vikings so therefore if they are visionary people and want to save their race let them. That doesn't have to be baise don hate but on visionary preservation. If it seems like hate so be it. Sorry I disagree with the old way of thinking. I believe in peaceful race preservation. Vikings traveled becauase that is what they did waging war and trade but they always returned to their Nordic country and had nordic culture and ways. This is part of being Viking.

      There's no such thing as peaceful race preservation. Its always leads to genocide eventually. Preserve culture and history and bring people into it, but race is a made up idea.

    Vikings were interested in their own welfare first. They had a pretty poor start economically, and once they had accumulated enough wealth, they dominated trade in Europe and Russia. They did not integrate for any cultural reasons-they created culturally isolationist trading posts. Hell, they even served Constantinople for money, not for a love of Islam...and they did not integrate with Constantinople. Ps....they were never invaded

    A group of people who historically raped, pillaged, and murdered through multiple homelands Vs. a group of people who want their homeland to remain not raped, pillaged, and/or slaughtered. At least it's historically accurate.
