Tarihi ve kültürel açıdan zengin bir Avrupa şehri olan ve de Balkanların İncisi olarak bilinen Saraybosna, turistleri cezbeden bir destinasyon. Saraybosna'da gezilecek yerler arasında, şehrin simgesi haline gelmiş Başçarşı'nın arnavut kaldırımlı daracık sokakları, Osmanlı döneminden kalma çarşılar ve tarihi camiler yer alır. Ayrıca, tarih meraklıları için Latin Köprüsü ve Gazi Husrev Bey Camii gibi önemli yapılar da ziyaret edilmelidir.
Miljacka Nehri'nin kıyısında yer alan bu güzel şehir, Osmanlı ve Avusturya-Macaristan İmparatorluğu'ndan kalma etkileyici mimariye ev sahipliği yapmakta.
Şehir merkezine 30 dakika uzaklıkta bulunan Trebević Dağı, muhteşem manzaralar sunan bir doğa harikasıdır. Kayak ve snowboard gibi kış sporları için de ideal bir yerdir.
Saraybosna'nın sadece tarihi değil, aynı zamanda da dramatik bir geçmişi vardır. 1990'larda yaşanan Bosna Savaşı ve Saraybosna'nın 1992-1995 yılları arasındaki kuşatılması, şehrin tarihinde derin izler bırakmıştır. Kuşatma sırasında şehirde yaşanan zorlu günler, bugün bile Saraybosna'nın dokusunda hissedilir.
Ancak, Saraybosna'nın savaşın izlerinden doğduğu gibi yeniden doğduğu da bir gerçektir. Bugün şehir, o dönemde yaşanan acıları hatırlatan birçok müze ve anıtla birlikte, barış ve uyumun simgesi haline gelmiştir. Saraybosna, insanların bir arada yaşama isteğinin güçlü bir örneğidir.
Saraybosna'ya yapılan bir gezi, sadece tarihi ve kültürel zenginliklerle sınırlı kalmaz, aynı zamanda doğal güzellikleriyle de büyüler. Şehir etrafındaki dağlar, yemyeşil vadiler ve temiz havasıyla ziyaretçilerine unutulmaz bir doğa deneyimi sunar. Vrelo Bosne Milli Parkı, doğa severler için mükemmel bir kaçış noktasıdır.
Saraybosna hakkında pek bilinmeyen bazı gerçekler de mevcuttur. Şehrin en uzun caddesi olan Maršala Tita Caddesi'nde, dünyanın en uzun kesintisiz tramvay hattı bulunmaktadır. Ayrıca Saraybosna, 1984 yılında Kış Olimpiyat Oyunları'na ev sahipliği yapmıştır.
