Great tips. I want to add my own: I carry a thermos water bottle of coffee or tea when I go out. A filter water pitcher is a great substitute for water bottles. I also cook a lot of food from scratch at home; & it is much healthier & tastes better & WAY less expensive than already prepared food. For example, homemade Mexican food- I make a crock pot of refried beans from a bag of dried beans, using online recipes. They are a gazillion times more flavorful than canned refried beans or frozen Mexican food, as just one example. Or I make a lot of homemade veggie stir fry dishes, especially for breakfast (with eggs or tofu or homemade Impossible burger) as a way to have great nutrition, at very low cost. I only buy food when it is on sale; & freeze/ package items for 'off season.' I don't live in a big city, but I still use a bicycle as my primary transportation, even year round, despite living north (Michigan). It is a lot easier than I realized it would be. (My daughter inspired me as well. She hiked most of the Applachaian trail, which spans from the state of Georgia to Maine, 2000 miles. It makes a 3 mile bike ride to grocery stories seem like a piece of cake). I realized I can bike to the grocery store that had seemed 'so far' in about only 17 minutes, & it gives a nice bout of exercise for that day. I use antenna TV & free movies through the public library. I don't use subscription services, such as Amazon prime; I can wait a few extra days if I ever order anything. I also comparison shop; know your prices. I'm definitely a library fan. I have found endless art books available, & currently have 22 checked out. I exercise at home, using WII dance games & Zumba dance videos, & doing calisthenics (instead of the gym); I learned, for example, to do a 'Spiderman' crawl across the room- it's a great youtube video. Check it out. I live a simple life, & I'm happier than ever, especially due to having seen miracles- proof God is real, & walking with Him. He showed me He is a God of JOY; He actually wants us to enjoy our art work, & to live in contentment, peace, trust in Him & no worry. Blessings. Peace. Love wins.
Thank you for the StarBucks tip and the eating in restaurant tips. I can prepare/cook most things better and more cost effective than any restaurant. I am also a germ phone, so ‘eating out’ is not a treat for me
