Thanks for the comprehensive information on prescribed burning. One item of information that I haven't found yet is how to determine if humidity, etc., are right for burning, so you might consider including that information in a video.
When you are prescribed medication or a different health regimen, it is because of a health related diagnosis from a doctor. (I.e. "You have diabetes. These steps are what you should take to control ypur diabetes. Here is the plan to solve this issue.") Similarly with an issue you are having on your land (I.e. Too overgrown; wildfire hazard; overall land health/regeneration; desirable wildlife species cannot access the land; poor plant diversity; dense forest experiencing disease; needing to increase plant vigor and new plant growth response for livestock grazing; etc.) Land management professionals may PRESCRIBE a burn to begin solving the problem. A prescribed burn is not a "controlled burn". Controlled burns make me think of a "cowboy" who goes out on a "nice" day and lights fire to his pasture, because the current wind feels favorable at the moment. Without any planning, any preparation, any prior weather-monitoring. 😣 That's a good way to burn the world down. A fire prescription entails lots of moving parts - creating a written plan, firebreak preparation, knowing emergency numbers, readying equipment, notifying neighbors, gathering a crew to help you, managing smoke, watching weather, watching weather, watching weather, etc. It sounds complicated, and it is (or it can be, depending on the area you are burning) but it's not rocket science. A prescribed fire requires lots of planning and prep in order to be safe (and respectful).
@@FurryWrecker911 Nah, I can light my hay field on fire on purpose in Feb in a 30mph wind with 15% relative humidity...and then it can blow onto my neighbor, then onto his neighbor, then to our town. You need proper intention, planning and prep for a Rx burn! 👍
