Perfect figure. It's probably the best Joytoy figure. As someone who has built and painted several of the actual Collectors Edition minis, Vanius is not a dynamic character; he is a walking pile of skulls. The shoulder armor is EXACTLY as it is on the mini, with absolutely no gap for shoulder movement. Perfect representation from mini to 1:18 figure. This is an insane nit.
I just got mine in, and have been wondering about the shoulder pads for weeks now It turns out that the horizontal fasteners are a biiiit more flexible than I thought. I heated them up with a hair dryer first, then articulated the shoulders out as far as they could go, to put a bit of pressure on the shoulder fasteners The plastic stretched just a bit, but it was enough to let him aim forward, and get a bit more angle sideways. Hope that helps- still not the greatest, but better than I was hoping.
Hey AC, you are located in Hong Kong, right? Where do you go to buy your JoyToy figures? I visit Hong Kong about once a year and the only place I know for JoyToy is YM Studio. They are good, but I would love to know some more places!
@@ac-studio Oh, gotcha. I saw your post on Carousell HK on how to build the land raider and assumed you were over there. Guess you’re just spreading the knowledge far and wide!
I've read about the terminators and in lore these guys are wearing heavy armour and don't have alot of mobility. Most of them can't sprint for long expect for a few. In a middle of the battle they can teleport using a beacon and all of them are the elite of the chapter if I got that correctly So when I see a figure of one I always expect them to have poor mobility
Hello there, I completely agree with your observation regarding the character's mobility. While limited mobility can be seen as one concern, there is also the matter of design inconsistencies in action figures. The main point of contention lies in the fact that previous Terminator figures, like the Grey Knights Terminators produced by Joytoy, did not have any problems with the hand and allowed shoulder rotation. So, it is perplexing why the latest Terminator figure suddenly lacks these features.
i really love the figure, but I also wasn't expecting him to be very mobile. It looks like the upcoming terminators have a totally different shoulder design and pauldron design. I also suspect that this chaplain was the FIRST to be designed despite being released later.
Interesting point you raised.. I reckon there was a design fault on the shoulders so they eventually decided to fix them permanently on the body, just to meet their production schedule and didnt want to redesign it.
I have it as well, I get all Ultramarine and Black Legion figures. And yes, this is disappointing, mostly because of the incredibly limted shoulder movement, the sculpt is otherwise fine. My hands do not seem to be as stiff as yours, though. Still quite disapponted.
Indeed, the sculpt of the figure is undoubtedly impressive. Note also it is crucial for fundamental design elements such as shoulder articulation to be functional at the very least. Regrettably, this particular figure fails to achieve that, which raises doubts about the justification for its high price.
my grandma told me that there are 2 type of chinese merchants people that make the best products to be famous and people sell just to sell sadly joytoy is the 2nd one
I share your sentiment on this matter. The ATV Invader serves as a prime example, where the essential design feature of suspended wheels is lacking. I have a video showcasing ny scratch-built ATV invader th-cam.com/video/X_rTgObuE04/w-d-xo.html, despite the challenges I faced, I recognized the importance of incorporating suspended wheels, as it is a crucial aspect of the design.

he might fail as an action figure but at least he's a pretty looking paperweight
Haha, paperweight 🤣 Well, I reckon it is a bit better than the Mcfarlane Toys's Statue!..

It’s cool, but damn expensive I can get three action figures for that price.🤖
Glad to hear you narrate the video! I like this format better
Glad to hear it!
"Profits over quality".
Joytoy.
Agree, similar was mentioned in Awesome Action Toy channel before.
you can never have enough skulls as chaplain.....never!!!
Thanks for the comprehensive review - I appreciate it.
Thanks for your comment!
Yes they did, they super glued them to the armor. On mine one of them actually came unglued and you can clearly see it :(
This figure looks awesome. The skull collector.
Haha.. I know Skelly will love it!

Which manufacturer does better for such money?
We only have a single choice - that is Joytoy...
