From reading the patch notes and from my experience trying to max my player in fifa 22, the only way to increase stats currently is the skill tree. You can get above 85 but only by changing which nodes you invest in with your position. By level 25 for example, you have enough skill points to get all the GK attributes, so if you’re set to be a GK, you have a rating of like 87. But that’s the only way I was able to find to get above 85. The perks will make you play like a 99, but your rating will never get there.

From my experience, winning trophies and getting things like golden boot usually increases your overall by three or four. Maybe in Fifa 22 there is a higher focus on winning things to increase your rating?
@@T.L.B. not this fifa, EA has said they’re limiting growth to the skill tree to allow for control over how your player grows. And I played 10 seasons with my created player and never got above 85 as a striker.
@@scrat6737 do your research man, he was sold to betis in 2019, then in 2021 barca bought him back, and then they figured out emerson wasn't in their plans so they sold him to spurs just 1 week later. if you dont believe me check SoFifa and you will see that in the time that he was at Real Betis he wasn't on loan

Actually Bford I have a career mode and I moved my player to Stade Brestois at the beginning of the transfer window in January. Just 4 in game days later, I made my debut. However, before the match, it said I was linked with a move to Leipzig. I got so confused and excited that I played 16 mins of the match, and then got subbed off manually (I actually scored in that time). After the match, I got an offer from Leipzig the same day. So I left Stade Brestois after 4 days and playing only 16 minutes. FIFA is crazy😂
every role has his own stats that increase overall more than others. For example, a CAM increases his overall on dribbling, passing and finishing stats. A striker inreases on finishing, dribbling and physical stats instead.

Not sure if u already found the trick but you can go beyond 90 ratings. I got my player to 90 CAM. Trick is try not simulating everything but play the drills atleast till you achieve an A and also play as many matches as possible. The catch here is try playing at a difficult level to get more skill points per level. I played at pro level... Maybe at ultimate difficulty u can get ur player to 95 and above. In conclusion it's not abt jus completing the levels but how u completed it. Hard work pays off😝 (PS: Took me 3 seasons to reach 90 rating)

In fifa 22, you are forced to use very specific skills to get the high rating you want. in order to get 90+ as an ST, you have to add heading skills, but that affects your FK and pen. 30 levels, 130-140 skill points instead of 110 currently and a clear system of preventing you from using more than 4 archetypes.. Real players have 4 or 5 archetypes, why are we (the player) restricted into only using 3?
So many things done poorly, like there is no use for the player wage, there are also no contracts as well. The manager does not give you tactics and there is no interactions between other players
