A DIFFERENT Way to Push on your Board

  • Some people have commented on my videos why or how I "push" like this on my board. I've never really thought much of it, but without further ado, this is my coined term "step-jump" aka the "running man." You technically step off your board, and then jump back on it.
Hope this helps those asking how to do it!
    Happy riding 🤙🏼

I saw on TH-cam that some skaters call it a ghost ride. I think I will try it too when the weather becomes a bit warmer.

Awesome to hear! Age is just a number 😉 As long as you ease into and start slow, you should be just fine! Cheers 🤘🏼

Tyler, today I went to practice this method and it was fun, very different from pushing indeed. However I was only able to use it on "no incline". When I tried it with "ramp up", the board rolling on its own slowed down so fast that I couldn't run, I had to walk. I'm just surprised as I was hoping I could run to go faster . Could it be that my wheels are too small? They are 60mm. Would changing to bigger wheels allow me to run? I didn't think the ramp I practiced on was that steep so I was surprised the board slowed so much whenever I step off of it. I like this method more than pushing though, it is less tiring because we use 2 legs instead of one. Thank you.

Just seeing this now - thanks for your comment. It’s likely not the wheels; when going up any incline, the board will always start to slow. What I do that helps is when jumping/stepping off with my back foot first, I then “flick” my board with my front foot forward before stepping off with that foot. By doing this, I am ever to get a little more momentum with the board forward
