    Hua means head ,and in Thai is pronounced "Hua" not "Waa".
    A Thai person will confirm this🙂

    It is very challenging to get any attention as an older youtuber. You look like financially well off and most people would like to see an average retired person living on a budget in Thailand or in other surrounding countries. Perhaps include in detail all the cost in US dollar and Euro and include that in the title. Like "I spent 200 dollar on this trip to Hua Hin"...

    • @livingthethailife
      @livingthethailife  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes you got that right and I understand that most people would assume I am what you thought I was, as is the case with most retiered people living here but, in my case it's far from the truth. I came here temporarily and in the process got offered a job that resulted in my staying here. If you’re interested you can watch a couple of my videos; How did I end up here and What am I doing here, which will give you a good overview of how it all came about and why I stayed and as you’ll see (if you watch them) I’m not your typical retired ex-pat.
      Thank you for saying, “You look like you’re financially well off” which sadly is not the case.
      In my videos I do put the cost of many things… Hotels, food etc.
      Thanks so much for your suggestions; I'll bear them in mind in the future.
      All the best
      K

      Just because one stays at a Marriot Hotel for a couple of nights and eat crabs, mussels and lobster does not mean you are rich. To celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary my wife and I stayed at the Marina Bay Sands hotel in Singapore for 2 nights. That, together with the return flights from London, cost me an arm and a leg. We are NOT "well off" by any means.

    • @livingthethailife
      @livingthethailife  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey Steve. I diddn't mean to imply you had to be rich to stay in a posh hotel. I myself am not "well off" by any means. My wife and I live a frugal lifestyle and we save up to have a good holiday when we can afford it. Thanks for the comment.

    I liked your video. Informative, entertaining, good picture quality, no horrific background noises, and nicely produced. I think I recognised the first few chords played by solo steel string guitar.

    Hi there I commented on a couple of your other videos which I really liked.
    Referring to this one I didn't really see much of Hua Hin, except the hotel and the drive there. Obviously this was just a casual vlog and you know that the viewer wants to see the streets the nightlife, nearby attractions, and of course the focus on the beach and place, rather than mostly, oneself.
    I think it's just a case of it taking a long time to get the interest before things really get good.
    Just keep on making videos. Work more on the Content, etc.
    I must admit I did notice you being quite animated in some of your Utube Shorts, and that might not appeal to some viewers.Etc.
    And I'm glad that I saw on your profile that you worked as a DJ, and professional musician, so that helped me understand your Character a bit more.
    Cheers.👍

      Hi ST. Pretty much right on all counts. It was my first time making a You Tube video and I guess I was just testing the waters. I'd seen a lot of videos of Hua Hin and they were mostley about Bars, Beaches, Booze, Hookers and local attractions so I was trying to approach Hua Hun from another point of view, and having been closly involved with all the above (through my work) I didn't want to get into all that, while I was taking a break. It's funny, that though I don't think this video is anywhere near my best work it got a lot of hits and even on this re-posting (2 years later) it's still getting a lot of hits. As for the shorts; I do enjoy being stupid at times, they're easy to make and they get way more hits than my long form videos but I'v decided to discontinue making them; I don't realy want to present myself like that to people who don't know me and in the end my chanell is not about chasing hit's it's about doing something I enjoy doing very much. Thank you for your comments I like and respect your honesty and I hope that my videos have (and continue) to improve since that first attempt. Cheers ST

    Answering your question you asked in the first minute: Nothing wrong with your videos. It's the TH-cam Algorithm that decides how many people see your videos. Different animal, different study, really.

    Whilst I understand you're play on words in the name of your channel there are so many people now doing the Thailand vlogs that unless you bring something different to the table people just wont see them . Maybe a new name to start with would help to widen the field for viewers so that you encompass many peoples interests . Don't try too hard and be yourself and remember why you started making vlogs . Most people start them not to make money but as a personal video diary .

    • @livingthethailife
      @livingthethailife  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the comment John. Can I ask? Are you basing your observations on just this video or have you watched any of my other videos? I have since changed the brand name of my site to Living the Thai life and beyond. I realize that this first video was a bit stiff and I admit that, at first I was thinking my site might make me some much needed income but since then I’ve come to accept that I’d have more chance betting on the lottery. So now (as you mentioned) I see my channel very much as a video diary which I share with anyone who cares to watch and my friends (who would tell you that I am, for the most part, very much myself)
      John, I really appreciate you taking the time to send me more than a one line comment.
      Thanks again
      K

    Great video, thank you. I laughed out loud several times 🤣 some classic English humour sprinkled throughout. I'm not a content creator so I don't have much of value to add to your questions about why your very first video has the most views, or how to reach more people, other than to say if your other videos are like this one then you deserve a lot more subscribers & views. I must also say I enjoyed the authenticity of the video, it felt 'real' like we were just brought along on your daily activities and didn't come across like some content creator videos which feel over-produced and titled in order to hack the TH-cam algorithm to obtain the maximum amount of views. Paradoxically what I've just said I enjoyed about it may be the reason why you have less views than other channels which put out inferior content. All the best (from England)

      Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely comment, it made my day, I hope you can watch some more of my videos and I’d love to hear what you have to say about them. I must admit that I did hope, at first, that I could succeed with my vids’ and maybe make a little money from them but I've since come to realize that's probably never going to happen but I enjoy making and editing my vids’ and I’ll be damned if I’m going to fall into the trap of trying please the algorithm and lose the pleasure of doing what I do and it’s comments like yours that makes it all worthwhile for me.

      I tend to agree with this comment. It seem like every Tom, Dick and Harry in the TH-cam fraternity video the same towns, beaches, menu and bars. The exception to the rule are those TH-camrs who travel off the beaten track and video places rarely seen by the average tourist. My favourite channel is 'Itchy boots' which has in excess of two million subscribers. Every 3 to 4 days a new video is published with hundreds of thousands of views within hours of its release. A 30 year something female travelling solo across the African continent on her motorcycle. This is the type of content which garners a dedicated following and the financial rewards speak for themselves.

      Yea it sounds interesting I just had a quick look. But as for me I have my limitations, for example; no matter how hard I try I can't seem to make myself look like an atractive 30 something female. But I get what you're saying and thanks for the comment.
