you can say that this is overrated but hell SAMANTHA PAULY's performance of this HITS DIFFERENT and you can never change my mind
I C R I E D
FACTS
I got to see it live and when I tell you I was M E S M E R I S E D
i cried the first time i heard it omg
THIS. Sam Pauly's performance hits so hard it gives you goosebumps on you whole body and I legit thought she cried at first. That's something I call art. Personal favorite.
The emotion in Sam's performance is unparalleled, and she's an incredible singer!!! People give the Bway cast way too much hate for their accents, they're all extremely talented singers and actors. I also think Courtney Stapleton's version is great and underrated
i totally agree
Agreed!
People think they need the British Accents, but Honestly No, it’s harder to sing with a Accent you don’t have because it’s not the way you talk lol
AGREED!!!!
Courtney really is! Makes me sad
I think Katherine Howard is the best Katherine Howard.
Sorry, but I personally think it’s Katherine Howard..
its been like 400 years tho. Move on

I'm The Real Barney garnet might be, but I’m not. Watch out for your ass Barney, ballin but at wat cost seagull is coming for you
Akki N bro chill 😓
Her and Aimee
My favorite is Sam, don’t get me wrong, all this ladies are incredibly talented but the way Sam managed to mix anger with fear, sadness and exhaustion is so unique to me
mines aimee ahah
I love both. Don’t make me choose
Aimie did that too and what I don’t like about Broadway is that America doesn’t learn about English history or not a lot but there just trying to take over
@@eviemx13 putting on a musical about British history isn't taking over though,,, and like the history of six wives not the government and politics
@@eviemx13 Translation: I'm a triggered British person who can't appreciate actors for who they are and can't comprehend that America is two whole continents and not a country.
Sam just does such a good job of showing the insane amount of emotion that _should_ be showing in this song while still having extremely clean vocals on the big notes. And I just LOVE her.
I love her! I love all of them! I’d put a lot of emotion into it if I were playing her too!
aimie does as well, she’s really good but obviously hers was just a photo so you can’t see

@@richbritt8578 yes definitely we know!!
Sam put the most emotion and acted the most childish

the girl who said, “bite my lip and pull my hair, as you tell me I’m the fairest of the fair” and then did the high note. yea, she’s my favorite k howard
Who
Emma Miller i think he means sophia?
the joke was that I liked all of them lol 💀
u n d e r r a t e d
my favorite k Howard is the one that says “I thought this time was different” but idk
I personally think that Howard's costume should've come with pieces that fell off during the number, leaving her in minimal costuming by the end (Similarly to how Cleves's costume worked in the american tour) what this would reflect is how a child was sexualized over and over until her entire innocence was stripped from the bubbly young girl that once was.
That would be cool tho
Or the opposite, she could slowly put on more, showing how she keeps trying to escape this oversexualisation and how at the end she just wants to disappear and hide from the world and the men in it.
@@artbycallie6816 That could be cool to see but I feel like it's easier to remove things than put them on. because remember, all of the queens are essentially handicapped to having the use of ONE arm because they don't wear headsets. other shows where characters are getting dressed onstage have both hands free because the mic they use is strapped into their clothing.
@@philspence3073 very true, perhaps the other queens could help? I do think your idea is much easier tho.
like she was literally raped all her life since she died at like age 19
I still can’t watch Sams whole performance without crying. It’s perfect.

Sam and Aimie are *chefs kiss*, they're my favourites.

Ok let’s get this cleared, she literally was out of breath because of all the singing and dancing she was doing during and before her solo. Plus, if you hear the version when it was not live, she does SO WELL.

Oh my gods thank you!!!
damn, there so many queens, that's amazing
So many people played Kathryn, but the only one people care about is Sam :(
@@idontwantahandle651 that’s just not true 💀💀
No doubt that Sam gave the most passion in her performances. All of the ladies are amazing no doubt but Sam has got some skill when it comes to expressing the pain and anger of K Howard.
Whoever can sing that end bit of all you wanna do is superior
The only time someone called me superior. Guess I'm a singer though.
I can do it so thanks lol
I can but it’s sounds really weird I don’t think it counts but thanks
XxAesthetic Chris UwUxX same, I can do it but it doesn’t sound great
Thanks
Sam really makes the character her own, she stands out so much and I’m HERE FOR IT
Sam was full on crying by the end, the amount of emotion she put into her performance was amazing and heartbreaking at the same time 🤩😢
When I saw the Broadway cast in Chicago, I remember that at the end of Sam's rendition, no one clapped. She was sobbing on stage and we were all sobbing in the audience-it felt inappropriate to clap for that kind of heartbreak. From what I can tell, she's changed up how hard she goes between Chicago and Broadway but man-while all of the Howards are great, Sam's performance has always hit differently.
Why was she crying and what does rendition mean
because she was so into character
@@marieflocon8053 she was crying bcus she was so in character
Omg actually sobbing 😢 I remember at the end of seeing it I was just like, exhale slowly, after holding my breath at that heart-wrenching build-up 💔
Mad respect for ANY lady who can sing this part. Jodie, Sophie, and Sam will always have my heart, but all of these women have T.A.L.E.N.T.
Those are my exact top three too omg
love how sam goes from this strong emotional performance to
and then i was beheaded!
God they all sound fan-freaking-tASTIC-
And they all did amazing jobs; tons of passion. It would be so hard singing something like this live, like holy crap
I am especially in awe of Aimie, all the Courtney's (especially Stapleton), Hana and Sam.
*I absolutely adored Sam's passion, her "when will enough be enoughsie?" and her finish nearly killed me istg- and her voice is a m a z i n g*
Fanfreakingtastic 😂 I smell a Heathers fan.
It sucks courtney stapleton wasn't Howard more, all three OG West End alts were just so good as Howard!
@@antheiheiant You're correct but the fan-freaking-tastic was an unintentional reference i didn't realise when i posted it LOL
@@xdinaryheroesluv It really does. The West End alts were all absolutely amazing and they all deserved more time
i am kinda confused because lots of people say she says "enoughsie" (which isn't a real word according to online dictionaries?) but if you look for the lyrics online it says "enough, see". i'd be very grateful if anyone wanted to help me out understanding this better.
5:37 how come no one is talking about that wig snatcher?!?!
It kinda made K Howard even more desperate
👀👄👀
Aimee, Samantha, and Grace are my favorites
Same
Same
Grace aimie and samantha have the most emotion
Same
Same
Same
The emotion is soo important, you can hear her slowly becoming unhinged with stress, trama, heartbreak, sadness, anger and last fear throughout the song and the end is had the most impact, not to mention she exhales like its literally her last breath (it was). play times over.
Sam shows more frustration then anger and I’m living for it
Yeah has almost like realization nothing will ever change nothing she can do.
Haven't finished the video yet but I have to mention Sam's alternative riff is LEGENDARY
I'm glad Courtney Stapleton did it too 4:04
My favourites will always be Sam, Aimie and Collette, Colette’s made me bawl when I saw her live, and Sam is such an amazing actress she gets me every time
my favorites
amie atkinson - i really like this interpretation since it feels more sarcastic and passive aggressive which i think is a really good take on the character
sophie isaacs - this one is also really great since it feels a lot more childish and highlights her innocence. also the emotion is great too
jodie steele - this one is really good too because of the way it feels like shes having a real mental breakdown on stage
sam pauly - i think this ones the best because it has the best mix of sadness and anger out of all the khowards here
A scary amount of K Howards don't support the Different riff properly.
right?? im not a belter but gosh. my throat aches vicariously from some of these riffs. obviously they’re all incredible for performing this number in conjunction with the choreography AND the subject matter but that. cannot be healthy for your voice in the long run
I mean, for most of these you don't REALLY know because you can't see them, but I get your point.
@@xdinaryheroesluv ? It's a vocal technique thing. You don't need to see them to know if they're doing it right. You can hear it in their sound.
right?!
To be fair, all of the queens are just shaking them at this point in the song so...
Sam gave me legit goosebumps
I got them too!
Sam (Broadway) and Aimee (west end) we’re definitely the best K Howards - I love their performances
They’re all so incredible, I can’t even pick a favorite. Sophie has a perfect voice for Howard, too. She sounds so young and innocent, which K Howard was. Also, the swings are underrated!
I loooove Sophie
I fully believe she got this role because she proved she can sing this kind of emotional ballad while looking young and innocent because of her rendition of Lifeboat in Heathers. It's incredible.
all of them take such different takes on howard, and i love them all! that high riff is v hard to sing so much, so i respect their variations!
Aimee is OG, but Courtney S, Collette, Alicia, & Sam are all unparalleled
Aimee isn't og. Annabel is
Yess defo Alicia she is very underatted
Amelia Awan Aimie was in the original cast doe, so technically she is the og player of the part of k howard 🤔🤔🤔
@@lillig2147 No she wasn't. The original cast of six was the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with Megan, Ashleigh, Holly, Tilda, Annabel, and Shimali. Aimie only joined in the OCR.
Isnt Sam the OG of the US cast?
Aimie and Sams make me cry everytime, their emotion and stupendous movements and tone just give the character so much more.
sam's hit DIFFERENT
Sams one was absolutely amazing, she put SO much emotion into it. the accent doesn't matter it mainly about the way they show and act during they're performances and i honestly think she nailed that
Samantha Pauly all the way
I personally really liked Jodie Steele's and Alicia Corrales's interpretations because I feel they both managed a nice blend between intensity and smooth delivery, and loved the specific notes they incorporated. They both leant into the emotional aspect of the song and sounded great doing it!
I saw Sam live... she has to be my favorite with all that energy. (Although they were all amazing beyond words)
Everyone’s amazing but no beby Howard it’s oki-
I feel so bad for her

Tfw both west end heather chandler and McNamara played Howard and absolutely killed it

I guess Chandler and McNamara are history geeks lol
I think they're all amazing as far as singing but Sam's performance had me sobbing and I do not cry easily 😔
I'm an Aimie fan all the way, she gets its everytime...

Lowkey Courtney Mack’s riff and belting is just *chef kisses*. She is such an underrated Alternate but she has such an amazing voice 😩
I absolutely love Sophie’s rendition. She keeps her vocal quality while still having emotion. And she took some REALLY high notes
She is so underrated!
@Carmen fox no hate but do you mean riffs
And her tone is so young and innocent🥺
I saw no comments about Courtney Monsma so I'm just going to share quickly. I saw her live and her performance brought myself and others to tears, that audio is not the best but maybe the only one. She really is a star and was born to play Howard. All the Howard's though are the best and amazing
I saw swing Chiara Asetta play K Howard and honestly it shook me, I'm going to go again this week!! So who knows who I'll get to see 😍🤩
Sams is my fave mainly because of how she ends it. The others are like a shriek or squeal, hers is more like a sob
Let's be real. All of them are great
But Wolfie is the true K. Howard

I don't like when people react to the tracks of this song. Literally every single one of these is amazing and reflects more emotions than the recorded song :'( When I want to listen to this song, I always put Sam's performance, she is amazing
All of them are amazing but...
SAM FOREVER ❤️
Every single one of them had a moment that literally made my jaw drop. They all have amazing voices, and this really showcases that. And the EMOTION!!!

welcome to Katherine Howard reliving her trauma for 15 minutes
idk why we are picking favorites all these girls are so so amazing at this role! and hearing their different interpretations of this part of this song is really cool!
Can't we have favorites?
Samantha Pauly's the best don't @ me
Same
Don't say the best, say your favorite, best means she's better then everybody who tries to be a great k howard.
alicia really blew me away, both technically and acting wise
I wish Mallory Howard audios were more accessible (if one even exists) I really wanna hear her sing it. Also, her as Boleyn after the first minute and a half.
I bet there'll be more once Six properly opens on Broadway, because we all know that people will take audios anyways despite rules
Sam's actually made me me cry cuz it seemed so darn real :(
All of them are so so good!! I don't know how anyone can pick a favorite, they all have different things about them that make them phenomenal!!!
Sams performance is just so breathtakingly emotional it’s hard to even compare to any other
I feel like what makes or breaks the performance is the distress in the kiss and the sigh at the end.
Yep. That and the emotion put into the last chorus. (at least for me)
@@phoenixblue-koszalka1518 agreed
I think it is interesting how different they all look. Must be such a exciting and interesting casting process because it has to be so much about what they bring to the audition.
I love how young Sophie Isaacs sounds compared to the rest of them. It's kinda what I'd expect K. Howard to sound like, bc no offensive to Aimee but I feel like her voice is too mature for K.H.
sam sounds super frustrated and scared, and sophie brings how young k howard was into it.
jodie’s runs on “different” and “fair” left me speechless
They are all incredible, but Sam tops it off for me! Her emotion and ability to keep her breath under control the whole time is INSANELY impressive!
grace tho-
that slide into the note i-
YES i thought oh she wasn't gonna do the high note but then she *slide* it whoa
Out of all these, the only one who actually brings me to tears is Sam. I can't ever listen to it without feeling that pain reemerging. Good job on portraying this in a way I'm sure many can understand and letting them know they're not alone.
They’re all gorgeous and amazing!! Aimie Grace Vikki and Sams are my favorite and most moving. The emotion the ladies out into it is astronomical
1:Sam Pauly: is just amazing and I just love her delivery
2: Courtney Stapleton: I’ve never heard Courtney Stapleton sing it and omg she’s definitely my second fave
3: Aimie: I like her studio recording better than live she’s just a classic
Everyone was amazing though
I love sophies, its like k howard is screaming for help
THIS!!!! & also she looks and sounds so young so it really emphasised her young howard actually was!
I love Collette's riff at the end. (5:34) No matter who I'm listen to, I always imagine them singing it like this.
Everyone talking about Sams emotion (which is amazing) but can we talk about the emotion Grace puts into in I knew she coved Howard but I never heard her before and she is great!!!
Absolutely love that Sam is getting so much praise. She took the song to insane levels of emotion... like how she did that is BEYOND incredible. These queens all sounded phenomenal, but as has been said a lot, Sam's hit really hit hard. Like damn.
I love Colette's riff at the end though holy shit--

Very Underrated
Yes, she's great
I LOVE HER ACCENT SM HDJDJJDD
I saw Courtney Monsma (Australia) in person and it legit snatched my wig back to the 16th century.
LMAOOO
I love how Katherine sung that last part personally.
Sam definitely does the best, she puts her own twist on it that sets her apart, like the no she does, she’s also a way better actor when it comes to the emotion in her voice while singing and changing it
HOW DID COURTNEY AND SAM DO THAT SO SMOOTHLY?! 4:04 12:07
Oh my GOD Sam Pauly 😍😍
Love how a little change in infliction can totally change what emotion comes across stronger. Some of them sound more angry, some of them more frightened, and some more sad. And all of them are great!
aimee and sam are my favorites
Jodie is my personal favourite, I saw her live and honestly her emotion is amazing. She’s so insanely talented, but all of them are incredible.
I absolutely love Aimee, Jodie, and Sam, their versions are amazing! The others have incredible voices, my only issue with them is that they don’t show the absolute despair that Katherine was going through, her life was too tragic to even put into words.
So i got into this musical with the Broadway cast and because of that i was kinda sad to find out that nobody really put as much emphasis and emotion into K. Howard's part as sam did(except Courtny S, i love her performance too), so everytime i hear it i without the EVer and ENOughsie, i just kinda feel like a piece of my soul is missing.
Also i just dont get why everyone loves millie, maybe its cause she is apart of the og cast, but i love Andrea and the way she presents Anne, with kind of a ditzy personality and everything when she was probably one of the smartest queens.
I kinda agree with u but all the others actually did really good and put emotion but I don’t think it shows with the voice a lot because they’re trying to keep their voice on point
How about instead of saying ones good and the rest are shit we acknowledge that it's not easy to fill a room woth your voice whilst singing and dancing-
there's so many things i could pick out of each performance to put here but i don't really have the time or space so i'll do it another time but i just wanna say these are all so incredible, they each add their own touch to the performance which i love! like sophie isaac's fairest of the fair riff (which, by the way, OH MY GOD), or some screaming some of the words, etc. i love how they each have different emotions like some sound angry some sound devastated etc. i just! love them all so much
As a person who was rapped/molested many times a child by many guys, this hurts sooo much. Sam’s made me have a whole cry / ptsd moment the first time I watched it. It’s so accurate the way she portrays it.
Samantha Pauly gives so much emotion to the song, truly showing the feelings of the real Katherine Howard when this was all happening
Does no one acknowledge Courtney Mack? She was amazing! Her voice sounded rough, like she was tired, towards the end, and it’s amazing! I personally think she’s one of the best!
Collettes is literally stunning but Courtney Stapleton is emotional to another level
Aimie will always be my favorite, but they are all amazing and talented. They do the song justice with the emotion they put into it.
Vicki, Courtney Stapleton, Collette, and Hana are perfect and no one can tell me otherwise
They don't just nail the AYWD climax, THEY ALSO NAIL THE IDNYL CLIMAX
Sam's raw emotion at the end just gets me every time. It fees so real. Ad her gasp at the end- it feels like a cry of despair while don't quite understand the motivation or purpose of the gasp in other performances. That and Sam just crushes the comedy and levity earlier in the song. No hate to anyone else, but she is my personal favorite and I feel she honors the character and how it was written best.
I don’t want to be another one just comparing these incredible women but I have to say Sophie, Sam and Alicia just do it for me in a different way 🧡
Aimie will always be my favorite 🥺❤️
Aimie and sam are sitting on the throne
True
They’re all different and all incredible in their way ❤️🔥
