      its not easy to campaign for votes and become a mayor , it is a tough job but yeah clearing upsc is also hard but the ground work done by politicians is also hard and is very underrated . Just bcuz a person clears upsc doesnt mean he is more educated( in terms of literary sense he is ) in terms of common mans problem or even doing ground work

      🤦, Entrance exams should never be used as a tool to judge ones worth, Its the Training after Clearing these entrance exams which makes you what you are now.
      Entrance exams are just a cause of Huge population, One does not become a genius just by clearing them, In fact the worthy often find it hard to clear such exams, which are based on Controlling no. of Aspirants.

      We also know what kind of gundaas come and be IAS, i think it's time we realised that too, just look at the guy from last year, slapped a guy and slammed his phone and for what? And why did he do that? Was he an law enforcement officer? Definately not, he's a servant of the country, his job is to give orders and let police execute, so why the over reach?
      I know what you'll say, it's just one guy and every other IAS is different and condemn that act blah blah blah, let me tell the problem, it's not the act that I'm talking about, it's the audacity, what made that IAS officer do so? What was going on in his mind, when he thought he'll just go to the field and do some bashing? It certainly couldn't come from his character alone, that ego boost come from the fact that indians think IAS officer is a demigod that's the root cause

      @@heystobit8824 Yeah, but the amount of respect you get from the people in the highest positions of a foreign land and meeting some of the most powerful people on earth is worth it. Moreover, friendly countries are not a problem and in a few countries though you may have enemies but then too high security will be provided. Dealing with educated diplomats of other countries is far better than facing illiterate politicians.

      @@reta5891 Yes, you are all right, you have told good things, when the situation between two countries becomes bad, then that IFS officer has to suffer a lot, will not know when you will be killed,No matter how tight the security is, I had read an article that when you do IFS duty for 30 years, then you are made ambassador, more pressure is on IFS than IAS.
      You cannot call IFS a better option than IAS just because some stupid illiterate politician. Yes both are good at their own level
      It is also true that some people prefer IFS just because, living in other countries, good lifestyle, good status, and this is true.

      See in IFS job, u have very litte control over situations and u will somehow have to find a way to get things done ex. Afganistan. IAS IPS have nearly everything under them. Politicians come and go for like 5 year , these r who run govt. as politicians cannot run govt and handle party simultaneously also the expertise required they dont possess. Also nearly every department is headed by these IAS be it financial, defence anything. The amount of power, prestige at ur home u get is incomparable.
      IFS live in company of gentle and sane minds in peaceful environment most of the time but their job most of the time is handling someone else's mess.

    Same happened with Tukaram Munde sir in Maharashtra. 1st in nashik, he faced differences with local leaders and mayor. Then he transferred to Nagpur, again same happened. They even tried to slander his character and name.
    But the saddest thing is we as citizens still support such leaders.
    So many argues that civil officers are corrupted but nobody points out that these corruption chains leads to political leaders.

      He doesn't work under the mayor dude. Mayor just has the clout and position with no executive authority. The real authority is with the Commissioner.
      Also, Mayor's generally stay away from messing with IAS/IPS officers. He/she will be the Mayor today and just a petty corporator tomorrow. Meanwhile, the IAS will climb the ranks of Secretary.
      The Entire CM's and PM's Government machinery is handled by Secretaries.
      Politicians have the knowledge of public speaking amd winning elections thats it. If you want to get the work done, form policies, implement law & order etc you need these Civil servants.

Patah nahi ias and ips loga itna hard exam deke kyun select hote hai. Balki utna hard exam tum jese mp and mla ke
    liye hona chahiye. Always these ias and ips officer get pressurized because of you.
