Re the counting of the coat-hangers good news there Colin, my therapist who is helping me with the C word Tim used in a previous reply gave me an offer of buy two sessions get one free, and she is happy to give you the free session Colin to help with your dare i say your coat hanger Fetish/challenge in life 🤣🤣🤣 Also Colin there was no need to cover up in the shower, your neighbour in the room opposite with a good view opened up a special vlog called ' Colin the man the myth' so we have lots of details 😜😜 Chris
That looked a decent enough room for a stay in Benidorm, its a very expensive stay now and for good reason. Ill bring my own coffee though. Thanks for showing us around. Oh my, I miss that rooftop view.

So the Queens Hotel was owned by a lady called Julia Grant , who was one of Manchesters iconic Pride activist. She owned the huge Hollywood Showbar in Manchesters gay village which is sadly no more 😢 Julia was also one of the first openly transgendered woman , The Queens Benidorm is also on a very early series of Four in a Bed on channel 4 with Julia !
Evening boys , not for me this one , balcony too small and hate being that close to the neighbours, when I go away , I always take my Yorkshire tea bags and sugar with me, , went to Gran Canaria and the hotel didn’t have kettles , so I had to go out and buy one , need my tea when I wake up ❤

If I remember correctly the Queens Hotel was originally owned by the Drag Artist Levi & the late Derek D, I stayed there a few times and enjoyed it then, my friend preferred the Babylon round the corner and stayed there, I believe it is now closed. Great days 20 yrs ago.
Hi Neil. We don't know whether Levi ever owned Queens 👑. It was once owned by Julia Grant, however. Babylon is long closed, we're afraid. The owner wrote a book about the hotel 🏨 called Benidorm Seriously, which we found interesting 🤔 xx
Levi and Derek D sold it to Julie after they split up, Derek moved to Glasgow and sang in the pubs and had a heart attack one night and died while performing, sad.
Hello chaps! I keep missing the Tuesday live chat because it's in my head it's the weekend. I used to always stay at the Queens. Bedrooms & bathroom haven't changed. Only trouble back then was no air conditioning plus if every room had an hairdryer going (if you can find a socket) at the same time the electrics used to blow - but it was the norm for those who stayed to sort out & deal with the trip switch. I remember good coffee - (not in the bedroom) & good food portions - if you liked food from home. It's a bit like a Blackpool (not a bad one) guest house that was OK for 1 or 2 nights. I'm talking 20 years ago & I note not much has changed. I eventually changed the hotel to, I can't remember the street - Hotel Avenida, pass Kafe Klee to the junction walking away from the Old Town & it's more or less on the corner. Brilliant, rooms amazing, food amazing plus! It is full of Spanish people who are holidaying for the weekend. Mega clean, mega coffee! & the breakfast super. I was a snob about Benidorm - until I went! If you want a mad happy night with sing songs & a bit rowdy - you've got the new town. In the Old Town you have got Tapas Alley & you have an amazing gay men's night & the same for our Lesbian sisters. Big, big thank you to you both for vlogging. Think it's been over 12 years since I've been in a gay pub. Looking back over my 57 years - had many a good night's & days & weekends & more. Feel like playing 'Una Paloma Blanca' Pouring a Sherry & taking up vegetarian Bull Fighting! ¡Olé! Thank you again - Colin & Tim x

We covered that in the video although the prices may change depending upon the time of year and days of the week that you stay, so we recommend checking directly with the hotel 🏨
Stayed there before it’s perfectly OK. Location is awesome for the old town and the gay area. Expected a new more “howevers”as you have stayed it better places that had loads of “howevers” 😎
Sorry to disappoint you, Terry. As you say, Queens is perfectly OK, and at the price we paid we don't expect any more than the basics. Although coffee would have been nice 😟 xx
Very nice. I just wouldn't be able function without coffee in the morning and I would make sure staff were made aware about the h&s risk having carry boiling water across the room.
@lordmartin2933 - yes it was. I remember watching her transition on the BBC many years ago. I was a young lad & for the 1st time I connected that I was different. Not trans, but gay. I always wanted to thank her for joining the dots for me & making things connect & relatable to my story. I used to live in Manchester, I went out one night with my ex & he took me to Hollywood Showbar (I think that was the name) - she owned it. One night after a drink or 3, I went to the bar & explained how I thought she was brave etc. & thanked her for making me realise I wasn't on my own. She was so welcoming, friendly & was just beautiful to talk to we often chatted on Facebook. There was talk from some she could be difficult to get on with. Not with me. Everytime I was in Showbar she said hello, had a brief chat, 'how are you?' - that kind of thing. She passed at a young age, 64 I think. I don't have a bad thought or word about her in my vocabulary. RIP Ms Julia Grant.
OMG! I stayed in that room last year. the rooftop bar has great views also, tried to book for pride but no availability, will be back for the fancy dress in november. thanks for another great vid guys.
Thanks Kevin. It was pretty dark in the stairwell but everywhere else was fine. You don't get much of a view anywhere in The Old Town, apart from on the roof. 🏨

We would say "snug". We doubt there are any massive hotel rooms in the Old Town ✈️❤️👍
