    Currently im working in sbi as po ... Im also thinking to uplift my career... Im also thinking to give a shot to cat and gmat ... Ideally how long will it take to score 95+ percentile in them ? And how much would you rate the process of gmat and rbi grade b exam difficulty if we are comparing these two together

    • @vaibhavnagar91
      @vaibhavnagar91  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      From what I've heard, it takes around a year to have a decent attempt at CAT. For GMAT and RBI Grade B, my experience says that around 6 months should be enough for either of the two. However, RBI Grade B involves a lot of mugging up of facts, policies, schemes and general awareness as well as understanding of finance & management. This is not the case with either GMAT or CAT. The focus is on applying the concepts and rules you learn.

    Hello Vaibhav, Just had few questions in my mind about the selection at ISB or IIM A.
    I have a CGPA in Gradution of 7.96, 79 in 10th and 80 in 12th.
    And have a work experience of 2.5 years in IT service based company, and 1.5 years of experience in Government Bank as a Manager.
    I recently gave my GMAT and scored 740 on it.
    What are my chances of selection at ISB or IIM' A

    Hi Vaibhav, first fo all thanks for this knowledgeable video.
    I am having 4.5 years of work ex and have been working in the tech sector. I am planning to do MBA to shift my domain to finance world, so my question is will my work ex in tech sector affect my placements in finance organisation if I do PGPX? Also is there any salary compensation difference between full time 2 year mba vs 1 year pgpx when it comes to placements?

    • @vaibhavnagar91
      @vaibhavnagar91  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      PGPX avg salary > PGP avg salary.
      Yes, work ex plays a critical role in placements. Breaking into typical finance roles is difficult. I would suggest to first get full CFA & then go for an MBA.

    Appreciate your view on this

    • @vaibhavnagar91
      @vaibhavnagar91  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi, so in IIMs, a person who has been rejected or waitlisted can apply in subsequent rounds for the same batch. Because of this reason and in general as well, the level of competition increases as no. Of applicants rise. However, 1 year MBA programmes don't have a fixed intake amount ie the college can decide to increase or decrease the intake depending upon the quality of candidates and/or macroeconomic conditions. However, in general the increase/decrease is usually not huge. So its okay to assume that level of competition increases as rounds progress. Having said that, I cracked PGPX in R2 :)

    Sir,I have 5 years of workex in IT service based company. I have given CAT this year and have converted New IIMs and IIT Delhi. But considering my workex many have suggested to go for exec MBA. Which one should I go for as I think my quality of workex is not that good to be in league of people coming for exec MBA.

    • @vaibhavnagar91
      @vaibhavnagar91  ปีที่แล้ว

      First, exec MBA means part time MBA. I think you are being suggested the alternative of 1 year full time MBA with mandatory minimum work ex requirement. In that case, your options are - ISB, IIM ABCL (KI?) as these offer these programs on campus and have placement services. You can also explore going abroad.
      I would also not suggest going for the 2 year MBA in India as it is for kids really. Plus, many companies have an upper work ex limit of 48 months during placements for shortlisting so you'll suffer.
