- This is part of a road train documentary I made I suppose 15 years ago and it features Eddie and Julie Holland and daughter Kimberley. It also features the EddyLiner when it won the Truckin' Life Rig of the Year in 1996. Eddie Holland passed away on July 27, 2011.We have lost one of the highway's unique and most colourful characters.

Meet Eddie many times on road,my job was on float for Macmahon construction from 76 to 83, Eddie always was happy go lucky bloke, even when stuck in floods in middle of no ware. Like Marla in early days. RIP.
I never got to meet Eddie, but I did chat to him on the UHF one night and he was a real character. Eddie should have a place in the Road Transport Hall of Fame. Thanks for posting this video, Bruce. I still have the original video of this on Roadtrain II.
RIP Eddie.
Very sad news. Was only talking to him a few weeks ago.
lest we forget "Mr Ed" and his very heavy loads of railway line
Some people don't realize that livin' a life on the road isn't very conducive to long life........long hours sitting down, usually poor diet, and a lot of stress from both traffic and deadlines to meet.......definitely not for everybody, but someone has to do it!!! Eddie.......RIP.
don't forget coppers and rules they own.
Eddy will be sadly missed. He was a real character. I still can't really believe he's gone. I know he was only in his 50s but he was what you would call "Old School"...big time.
R.I.P. mate.
gm16v149 just a question what happened to him health or
@@kenworth4049 Google "Eddie Holland Eddyliner" and the tribute page his kid made will pop up right below the link to this video. His death even made it on the news, believe it or not. I'm assuming heart problems, respiratory issues or cancer. That seems most likely to me
Great video for a top truckie RIP Eddie.
What A cool guy! RIP mate.
thats was a great insight to a true hero of the aussie roads, all us young fellas look up to blokes like him to become true professionals like him..r.i.p fellow truckie
Dead set nice bloke. You can tell how genuine and nice he was, I'm sure it's been a big loss to the roads.
I met the guy once at Little Topar near Broken Hill. Lets just say there was a lot of rail way line on his trailers. He was often with another character called jason Barrett,
also well known for 'big loads'.
rest in piece man
