Hi Kevin, many thanks for the review! As you mentioned in reply to a comment below, indeed the C525P (Plus) model does NOT support the camera unit operating unplugged (unlike the previous C525 model). I only learned this after having ordered the C525P (the only one being sold by Kodak where I live). Could you please check, whether connecting the camera unit through a USB C to a power bank could maybe bypass the issue and make it usable without AC power source available? Many thanks in advance.
I’m truly disappointed that the baby unit only works on DC. Spent so much money. And here in Zambia we have terrible load shedding.
Hi. Do you find that sometimes the monitor sound isn’t on or when baby is awake making noises it doesn’t come through the monitor? I have the c225 and thats what im noticing if im a but away from the room where baby and camera are located?
I had no idea Kodak makes baby monitors now! I like the option to be able to use the app and monitor. If my current one dies I'll look into getting this.
That’s one of my favorite features as well! I wasn’t really in the market for another monitor until my son started napping upstairs on his Nugget. So a second monitor helps us keep track of him while we do other things like meal prep.
Can you help me. I have purchased this and want to use connection via WiFi. Not use the app but it does not give me any option for. Any network information when selecting through it only goes up the the vox.. It always say warning camera out of range. Do we understand why x
Curious what monitors you had thought about before purchasing this one. Did you look/see Cubo AI Plus monitor and compare the two?
It depends on your needs. We cosleep so my kids are in our room eliminating the need for many of the mount above crib bird’s eye view style monitors. I previously owned a Nanit and never used it and ended up selling it. I do like all the extras like face detection but it wasn’t practical for us due to how we sleep.

Hi thanks for the review. We always struggle as our little ons doesn’t sleep well with the red infrared light on the camera. It bothers her and keeps her awake. Could you maybe let us know if it is bright and if there is a possibility of turning off the infrared light when the units video is off? Thanks
The camera has a led light that can turn off but I’m doing see an option for the infrared. I don’t even notice an infrared light on the camera but I assume it has one as that’s usually used for night vision.

The clip mount came with the Eufy Spaceview, but didn’t work with this camera. I haven’t found a good clip but I use this mount to place at the corner of my room. amzn.to/3IrWqtJ

It is pretty nice using the app. I can only imagine in a couple years how crazy baby monitors will get.
You mentioned that using the phone app without wifi is possible. Does this means that my husband is able to live stream on the app while he is at work?
He would be able to view the stream with his phone using the app as long as he has data connection with either LTE/5G or wifi at work. Just make sure the camera is set to the setting that connects to the internet.

I wonder if they updated it. Oddly enough when I unplug it the camera won't turn on. I saw someone ask them on their Amazon listing and someone from Kodak customer care responded that it doesn't have an integrated battery in it. 🤷 Their naming scheme is confusing as I've seen older models as C525 and C525IR.

I think it's only the C525 (not the C525P). The review I saw was of a C525. Mine also does not work without the plug, my bad. It is confusing though.

Hi, just saw your video and I am just using the direct mode. I don’t wanna use the app. But I’m struggling how to turn on the volume of it? I can’t hear the baby crying 😅 thanks in advance 😀
On the baby monitor there should be volume buttons on the right side. If the volume is already up you might have to look at the VOX setting and lower it. Is basically a static noise cancellation but if it’s too high might not pick up all the sounds.

Two things that come to mind is what is the volume of the monitor set to? Is it high enough? The other thing would be to lower the VOX feature. It could be that for some reason the VOX feature is cancelling out the sounds.

Sometimes volume controls is hard to find. It’s on the side on the monitor. Right above the on/off switch.

These are no longer supported by Kodak and the mobile software no longer works. The app is no longer on the storefronts and it now no longer works on the device I had it installed on. Shame, great device but now obsolete.
