As you see their growth from ISR it’s amazing. My son started at 3.5 years old. It’s tough to see but so worth it. The second day he wouldn’t put his suit on. It was a struggle to get in the car, didn’t want to get out the car when we arrived at the pool. And now he greets his instructor and jumps right in. He knows when to flip over and float to catch his breathe and flips right back when he’s ready to continuing swimming. So worth it!

This is a huge lesson for the kids to learn a drowning child is the worst! I would just keep telling your girls the negatives and positives and keep going no matter how mad or uncomfortable they are eventually it will be a breeze! Goodluck! ❤️

Tara, have you been watching the news? You were freaking out about the virus back in March, but not now? Your state is getting so many cases per day!! How are you still out and about? 😟😟

    • @lori4wyoming759
      @lori4wyoming759 4 ปีที่แล้ว

And the virus has a 99.75 % survival rate. Have you done any research besides listening to the MSM. Why are a mass amount of unopened tests coming back positive? Suddenly the amount of heart attacks, cancer deaths, drownings, strokes causing death, pneumonia and so much more have decreased suddenly in astronomical numbers? For no reason? But a cold virus called covid which has never been isolated and studied is a mystery? So much proof out there. These numbers we have been told have never added up at all. They are so drastically off base and now that hundreds of doctors and nurses came forward and told the truth about being forced to mark all deaths except gun shot wounds must be marked as death. It's all been coming out. The white House today wants the numbers reported to them before the CDC, who have lied so much and been caught, suddenly the state of Florida said they accidentally marked all 110,000 covid cases in just one mo th, marked them as covid and they were 100% not covid in fact all those illnesses were fabricated as covid now instead of 110000 in one month is really 11,000 covid cases. . Once again they have been caught lying. Dr Fauci and Bill Gates said I'm 2017 and 2004 said their will be a virus released during Trumps presidency.( faauci said that in 2017)

ISR has been a cause for controversy. The American Academy of Pediatrics says “there is currently no evidence that infant swim programs for babies under 1 year old lower their drowning risk.” Kreitman still recommends constant supervision, fencing and locks.

amanda marie I know the hesitation but there are 3500 infant/child deaths a year in the US from unintentional drownings in pools. Kids get nervous when they start to learn how to ride a bike! So of course they’re going to be scared learning how to learn to swim! But that’s how we teach them.

You go mama! ISR does save lives! My best friend has a 4 year old who started around a year old and she is an amazing little swimmer. My best friend told me a year or more ago that she had several friends over with their kids to swim in her pool. They were all on the pool deck (several adults) and she turned her back to help another child for a moment and when she turned around she saw her daughter in the pool floating on her back and making her way back to the edge. She was horrified and relieved at the same time. None of the parents saw it happen. My point is drownings can happen in an instant and you are giving your precious babes life saving skills. Hang in there!

As a mom it is hard to watch your child go through hard stuff but this is so good for them to learn to be safe. Very much for children to learn what to do in that situation. You two are good parents.

ISR IS AMAZING!! honestly, it’s hard to watch as a parent/caregiver but it’s a game changer for swimming!! The repetition is an amazing thing for them but yes it is hard for sure! You will be amazed how quickly they pick it up and you will have full on swimmers afterwards!! It’s just a life skill that every kiddo needs for sure!!!

I absolutely love that you have those sweet babies in ISR, even though it's hard to watch! You might not think a downing accident could happen to you or your family but it could truly happen to anyone. I follow country singer Granger Smith and his family on here (The Smiths) and they lost their sweet little boy River to a drowning accident in the swimming pool at their house last year. Granger and his other kids were just a few feet away when it happened. It's just the saddest story ever so I feel like stuff like this is VERY important for our kids to know! Love you guys 💜

We kept going and thank goodness for masks because I would cry watching her. Lol We are now 9 classes in and she floats on her back by herself and can get the pool ring off the bottom. She loves it now and all the tears from both if us was so worth it. Keep it up momma!! Your doing what's best for your babies. 💜

My Mom was deathly afraid of deep water, and I think she passed some of that fear onto us as children. I was planning a trip to Florida with friends when I was in college, and didn't want to be embarrassed by not being able to swim, so at nineteen years old I went to the local YWCA and took lessons a couple times a week. I thought it would be embarrassing, but my swim instructor was awesome!

I just love listening to the girls having a conversation!! I am Red Cross certified and tried to teach my kids how to swim I learned very quickly that someone else besides mom or dad need to teach them. My daughter refused to put her head under water and the first time she went to drink lessons with someone else she put her head under like a champ!!

  • @kc3074

The ISR lessons are invaluable, and you're right, it will get easier as time goes on. Hang in there with the home construction. My sister and brother in-law were really put to the test during their build and now are finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. They should be able to move in early August. Turns out the land they purchased to build on had a ravine that was covered over, so they had to spend around 35k correcting that issue...my sister was so disappointed that money for decorating was taken away, but she has made it work and her home is stunning! Another thing she said is you'll feel like nothing is getting done and then all of sudden your home will start to take shape, she also said to be prepared for days when your builders don't show up because they may have other projects going on at the same time.

I’m a swim instructor so I know how hard it is to watch them be upset! Your doing the right thing! It seems like you got a good ISR teacher! Some ISR can be traumatizing to children! I’ve had some children come from it and their fear was so bad! It all depends on the teacher! She seems nice and knows how to praise so I think your children will do great!

  • @casinthewoods

To those bashing ISR... it is an infant swim RESCUE. Babies and toddlers learn to save their lives if they fall into a pool. Yes, they dont like it at first. My son hated it and it made me feel awful. Now, after completing his 2nd round of ISR, my 3 year old jumps into our pool, swims and flips over to "save" himself. It's amazing. He used to hate the water and now he begs me to go swimming. ISR is super important if you have a pool imo. ISR is not the same as regular swim lessons. Good for you for getting your kiddos ISR lessons, Tara. You'll be amazed when they're done with their sessions.

That would be the people who through research and common sense understand that this method traumatizes kids (they store that trauma inside, so even though they might seem fine, they are not). Parents are responsible for making sure that their kids don’t fall into pools. And kids can learn how to swim without being scared.

Why not regular swim lessons for Bailey? Isn't she too old for ISR?

J T that’s what I was thinking too! Same with Shay. They can do regular swim lessons and learn how to swim without being traumatized with water. My girls started regular swim lessons at 5, 6, and 7 and they absolutely LOVE it.

I’ve had both of my kids in year round swimming since they were 2. My 4 year old finally swims completely on his own this year. And my six year old is working on butterfly and breaststroke lol I didn’t even do those when I was a kid. Seems like the teaching is way better than it used to be. Try and see if you can find an indoor year round place it’s soo worth it!!

I grew up having a large pool and when I was a babysitter I made sure that I put the kids in swimming lessons for their safety (One of girls ended up on the high school swim team!). Now as a mom, a drowning is my biggest fear for my children. This is definitely something I will research, hopefully it’s offered in my area.

Hey Tara, just some friendly advice. The girls straps in their car seats should be coming from above their shoulders, the head rest needs to come up a click or two.

My youngest who will be 6 at end of this month didnt like swimming at all. She doesnt like water in her ears(had mild hearing loss and 2 sets of tubes and adenoids took out, but hearing is back to normal) so we got her ear plugs, and a youth snorkel kit and she is now learning to swim with the goggles(so she can see underwater) and ear plugs. If bailey and Shay dont like water in their ears or it sounds weird maybe ear plugs will work. It did with our youngest. Just a suggestion

Legit question: Would you want your child to take some swimming lessons first before ISR, that way they don’t become fearful of the water etc? I think teaching them how to get to safety in the water is very important.

ISR is infant swim rescue. It teaches babies and toddlers to save their lives if they fall into a pool.

lessons all the way. baby and mum swimming lessons are a brilliant way to help love the water and learn to swim without any kind of upset and trauma. I'm a swim teacher and my children are swimming independently from age 4

I think all of them did great with their swim lessons! Honestly watching their lessons was easier than others I’ve seen. We have someone local where I live who teachers survival swim and she requires the kids to get in fully clothed during some of the lessons and will push them under to help teach them to roll to their backs and float. That is very difficult to watch!
