Group of 4 skiers riding freeride routes in Davos Parsenn. See the full video and analysis of what happened and what we did. Feel free to comment on what we did wrong or right.
Please call the resort rescue (SOS Parsenn) when you trigger an avalanche. Otherwise a rescue mission could be started when it's not clear if someone still could be under. People were searching the deposit later that day...
Glad you got out ok. Good assessment of some risks. Was this recently when it’s been -10° overnight in Davis? Big temperature gradient through the snowpack (cold air) causes weak layers to form…
First of all, glad you went away unscathed! And secondly, thanks for sharing! A lot to learn and reflect in this short story. One hast to be honest that it is more than once that you run into situations like this and get away with nothing happening when you ride backcountry. You just never know how close you got to a trigger point and avoided desaster. One can always argue afterwards that it was the wrong decision to enter that face. But you made up your mind beforehand and made some good calls. You were well equipped, went one by one and also thought of the guys following you. They somehow were the lucky ones, because one meter of snow cover can be well enough to not walk away unscathed especially if your colleagues don't have beacons, probes and shovels and cannot find you. I had an accident like this years ago and certainly resets your willingness to take risks 😉
Glad you got out of it okay, but we're gonna absolutely need an update about the ski polls in Summer LOL
Will report on it 😜

Nice breakdown of what happened. Glad everyone is good. Thanks for posting.
Great video, really. Davos is close to our heart, we are often biking there and skiing from time to time.

Which avy pack and bindings (cranked to 11) did you have on?
Avi backpack: Black Diamond Jetforce / Bindings: Salomon Guardian
Thanks!
Glad the tourist didnt go before you!
That would have likely ended in death
that is so cool, don't stop posting
at around 1:31 it sounds like a cow's moo
At his point, stop skying there if its its always life or death situation ?
Klaus Schwab’s private jet flew too close overhead and triggered the slide 😢
one massive mistake you made was immediatly after you skiid after him.
again 😂
