Joo is such a great player. The best chopper in the world. Kenta is outskilled and had no chance. You can clearly see the mental beat down toward the end.

Kenta es un gran jugador, pero no sabe jugar a defensivos como ha quedado demostrado en este video...Y Joo...Que decir de el, posiblemente sea el mejor defensivo que haya habido hasta la fecha y sera dificil volver a ver alguien con un juego tan bonito y espectacular...Un en cuanto al golpe imposible...MUCHA CREMA!!!

I like choppers who chops on bh and fh. Most defenders nowadays just lob on the forehand which makes them a sitting duck if they are far from the table and the opponent gives it on their fh.

Two of my favourites playing each other. I am also a chopper and block anything on forehand with angled backhand how kenta does, it comes natirally to me . I literally had no idea before that kenta also does like this, later I came to know and I fell in love with these two players playing style.

@BennDuong Joo's backhand side is long pimle which is defensive rubber. He still very good at smash the ball with his backhand,
@jamesbuitron Testing for any illegal substances such as VOC that comes from the glue that the players put on their rubbers when they stick it to the blade i think. There is a type of glue called speed glue that they aren't alloweed to use anymore and that stuff emits fumes that smell like paint thinner and that is what they're testing for I think.

You are correct about the rule but the ball hits the net and goes over which is legal. For some reason the camera angle makes it very difficult to tell. I am pretty sure that type of thing is obvious to the players and umpires though because the if it bounced on your own side instead of hitting the net you would hear it bounce

You're right! I wonder why the umpire never saw that. Too much speed is very hard to encounter but if it hits the net and goes to the opponents court, it might still be legal.

I've only been playing for a few months but wasn't the hit by Kenta illegal at 2:49? I didn't think you could hit the ball on your side and then your opponents side.

When joo chops...the problem is that the opponent can only focus on accuracy..i mean putting the ball on the table...but joo's mind is active....when he sees a chance..he smashes and it is difficult for the opponent to return the smash

@xhamtarox Well if Kenta would have won that point, he would most likely raise his finger in a show courtesy, but he didn't win it. Joo won with a remarkable get. It hit the table at such angle as to cause it to bounce many times in a short space. Truly a remarkable heads up shot, but not a shot calling for a courtesy finger, as there was no luck involved. If anything, serious fist pumping (and a loud CHO!!, if he was Chinese) by Joo might have been called for lol.

Japanese players usually plays in a stable but not strong enough way. It's hard to defeat ,therefore, a good defence player as Joo..
Nothing Kenta can do. His strength is quick blocking, reflexes and reaction shots, all of which don't matter against Joo. He can't finish points and has to resort to trying out drop shots and spins to beat Joo, and that's never ever going to work. JSH also has a far more deadly loop so he quickly pounced on any chances.

Kanta's serve ineffective ??? Definitely not. It is the same serve as Ovtcharov. it may be ineffective here against Joo who defend but it is really effictive against others.

I do not absolutely like Kenta's footwork. He jumps when hitting the ball, which is apparently a flaw of his game. He cannot thus play the ball with all the energy he can put into the stoke. And he even does not make half a step to the right to play the ball agressively, instead of which he just gives the ball to the opponent's attack 00:51. He even lazes to bend his knees to perform a due backhand stroke 2:09. And generally his game lack energy and good amplitude full swing forhand, which he is certaily capable of. Instead of attacking he sometimes just returns the ball with a passive block, not a counterattcking one, which only makes the opponent's victory in the point nearer. Sometimes he exaggerates with backhand block performing it for the block's sake. Watch his matches vs. Xu Xin, Ma Long.
I hope Kenta will be playing with more agility and flame.

Kenta plays really bad... Far from his best level, Joo uses this weakness. But an easy match with no opposition for him...
even tho jjoo se hyuk is better than kenta matsudaira every player is triggered in front of MA LONG Ma Long is my insipiration
