I heard both the krithis Theliyaleru Rama and Janaki Ramana, after watching your video I was going through my notes. In Carnatic Music each and every RaGa has it's own unique style. One cannot say one is good and the other one is bad. All the Ragams has it's own speciality. Thank u for reminding these two RaGas.🙏❤️very nice.

Great Video on these 2 Ragas! Thanks for such an interesting upload! The stark contrast between the Gandharam of Thodi and Dhenuka has been clearly highlighted (in spite of them belonging to the same Chakra in the Melakartha scheme, the prayogas are so different! suffices to say that Carnatic Ragas have a unique identity - each and every one of them - like us individuals!). CHINTAMANI is another very beautiful Raga which also had only a single composition (nay, a brilliant GEM!) by Syama Sastri - Devi Brova Samayamide - which is such a soulful emotional prayer to Goddess Kamakshi of Kanchi to come to his rescue.... I have often been mesmerised by KVN Sir's rendition of this kriti with perhaps the same amount of emotion that Syama Sastri must have had!

Yet another interesting pair of ragams 😍. When you mentioned the fact that eventhough Dhenuka differs from Hanumatodi by just one note, i. e. Nishadam and one usually cannot give much gamaka to the Gandharam, I remembered what Dr M. Balamuralikrishna told while singing Vakulabharanam. Eventhough the purvangam is same as Mayamalavagowla and Uttarangam as that of Hanumathodi, the raga handling is entirely different and one should not try hybridizing the above two ragams and sing Vakulabharanam. Each raga is a devatha and while watching this video about Dhenuka ragam, I felt the same. Thank you so much ma'm for bringing out the facets of Dhenuka and Shudha seemanthini.

Good morning Jayanthi madam. You have aptly said some ragas are identified by the popular krithis. One should have very good memory power to remember the names of these ragas. The names Dhenuka and Shuddha Seemanthini never stay in my memory though I have heard both the krithis. Excellent rendition of both the ragas madam and apt explanation of the gamakas in comparison to Thodi ragam.
    God bless madam.
