I was playing the beginning with my friend and just got to the music box. My Grandmother came by and asked what that beautiful music was. She was slightly taken aback when I said a game im playing. That day she finally understood why I play jrpgs.
This game has THE most beautiful story ever written for a video game accompanied by the most beautiful soundtrack. A real diamond in the rough that just needed a little more time and money to truly shine for everyone, but I love it just the way it is. In a way, the second disk being them looking back to what happened works for the story, and the two similar stories of Fei and Elly recounting how they have loved each other through the generations is both heartbreaking and comforting at the same time.
My favorite game of all time, for the story, but also my favorite soundtrack of any games. I really appreciate the time you spent recently on Xenogears. I would really love to hear a medley of the game from you one day. It would be for sure my most watch video of all time 😅.
When I first got to this part in game, I sat there in stunned disbelief for maybe 10 minutes. I could swear I'd heard this before somewhere. That feeling, Citan's words, and the song itself just awakened some primal feeling within me. All because of a game I got on a total whim one day at Blockbuster.
I can listen to this for an eternity… Hits me in the feels. Renders me docile in such a way I crave the end… Beautiful touch to an epic sound from a very epic game
