It's a shame. Some men do genuinely hold these convictions because they believe in equality. If everybody behaves that way, we can make real progress. My friend literally just had an experience like this. Guy went out of his way to ask her to hook up and when she said “no” he called her names and was so rude.
It definitely goes both ways on that one; I've gotten treated with disdain or had my sexuality questioned plenty of times by women when I don't reciprocate to their advances. People just need to learn how to deal with rejection if playing the game. Now, if someone is overly rude in the process is ok to put them in their place.
