I stopped there on a road trip years ago when it wasn’t much more than a warehouse with slots. Such an impressive transformation. Thanks for bringing us along on your journey! I’m still waiting for a Buc-ee’s to come to Wichita or KC. Safe travels home and happy anniversary.
Thanks Carla! Yeah, I still think it’s a huge warehouse with slots, not a big fan of the layout. But it’s a cool place to check out. Yes, Buc-ee’s is always a must stop when road tripping!
I had no idea the biggest casino was in Oklahoma. Hope to visit it one day. Thanks for taking us along! Enjoyed watching and looking forward to watching more videos. Glad we came across your channel. 👍👍👍👍🍀🍀🎰🎰
Happy Anniversary, guys! This was a nice surprise this morning. What a perfect getaway when you don't go to Vegas. Winstar is on my bucket list. I would probably salivate when I walked in. 😂 And I totally agree with the free stay close by. I am that cheap. 😊
Hey there, thanks for the content. I'm always looking for casino vacations other than Vegas. This place is massive. I might have to check this place out. You guys are so fun. No wonder you made 20+ years together 😊❤🎉
Oh belated Happy Anniversary. 21 years that's awesome. You got me beat by 11 yrs. I'm definitely making my way over to Winstar at some point. I'm trying to make my rounds to other casinos besides Vegas. I'm going to Charlestown in WV Friday. Wish me luck. Watching your video now. Cheers guys. 🎉🎉🎉😊
@@DaverrasonTravels most definitely. As much as I love Vegas the prices are not what they were pre-pandemic. So I might find other casinos I like just as much. Thanks again for the Winstar video. I'll hit that up soon too. 😊
Oh gosh! I've got a birthday coming up and i've been trying to decide where I wanna go. You're kinda sealing my decision with this video. I haven't been to Winstar in a couple of years. I was crazy overwhelmed my first trip. I spent 30 minutes just in the parking lot videoing the "architecture". haha I played my little heart out too. So much so, that I forgot to eat! lol. I remembered at about 1am when everything was closed. And I made the mistake of only staying for one day. I left like a little kid pouting, kicking and screaming. haha. But i don't miss the drive. I live in south tx too. I remember the traffic in Austin-Round Rock. Saw a 18-wheeler run off the road. Was thinking about flying at double the cost of driving. I'm thinking dodging that headache might be worth it. THanks for the video. Luck guys.
Definitely a fun place for a birthday! But check out our next video and make sure not to eat at Union Mesa (the Mexican restaurant there). It was not good. But we have heard that some of the other places are decent! Hope you have an amazing birthday and thanks so much for watching!!
1st time watching your video. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY. We drove from just north of Houston, up I45, into Okla to WINSTAR for a 3 day weekend and had a blast. We had 2 free nights. the drive was long, of course. We actually stayed in the hotel, which wasnt that great, they were doing contruction. But I got my steps in. We walked from one end of the other just to look at the different themed areas. people are so friendly there and very helpful. The one think I didnt like was the hotel was on one end of the complex. I compared it to walking the strip in Las Vegas. Felt like 4-5 blocks of walking, just one way. We may try the Fairfield Inn next trip. Thanks
Great comparison to the strip! You will definitely get those steps in! For the price, the Fairfield was nice and still really close. That being said, if they comp you a night or two you can’t turn that down! We also found a B&B that we stayed at for the second night of the trip. We’ll put that vlog out soon. Now that was definitely worth the price and still close to Winstar!
Good morning from Long Beach CA, when we go to Vegas we drive about 4 hours...so loving your road trip to gamble 🎰 we have our fav stops Barstow Del Taco & of course quick stop at Stateline...then off to Vegas
Hey Christine! Yes road trips to casinos are always fun! And only 4 hours from Vegas is awesome! Definitely have to stop at a Buc-ee’s when road tripping in Texas!
Hi D&S - Happy 21st Anniversary!!! We do not have any Buces here in So Cal - it is defintely sensory overload. That really is a big casino. Our Yaamava Casino here in Highland California (it is owned by the San Manuel Tribe that also owns The Palms in Vegas) is quite large as well (over 300,000 sq ft) so we know what it's like to have so many machines from which to choose. Thanks for the vlog. Cheers!!!! 😎🎰🍻
We absolutely LOVE your videos. You all do a great job. We too go to Winstar. The rooms are nice. I would say pretty nice and clean. Once you go there a few times or maybe even once, they will start throwing free rooms at you. We love going there. But next time, DEFINITELY go to Choctaw. It has more of the VEGAS feel. It's about 40 minutes farther. And if you don't want to go down I35 you should take the back roads - like going through Blanco, Marble Falls, Lampassas, I'm not sure but I call it the back roads. All small town and very scenic. Oh, don't listen to me - my husband just told me I35 is your best route, but we still go through the small towns. In any case we love your videos. Again, once you go there, they (both of them) will throw free rooms at you. And free food and free play. And they have great concerts. The pool at Choctaw is wonderful. At Winstar the pool is ok, but they just built a new one. If you can't get to Vegas, either one are fun. AGAIN.. we love your videos!!!!
Really appreciate it! Yes, we have heard great things about Choctaw, definitely will give it try! Especially if it has more of a Vegas feel because Winstar definitely did not for us. It’s grand, but bigger isn’t always better, we didn’t love the layout. And I do prefer the idea of going through the small Texas towns! We stayed at the most amazing B&B in Gainesville that we will do a separate video on. That was definitely the highlight of our trip to Winstar!
What an awesome video!!! Glad you enjoyed playing at WinStar!!! Happy Anniversary To You Both!!! Try playing at the High Roller Area Near Pandas Very Lucky There! Play 5cent denom At $4.40 Minimum on The Firecracker Machines!!! Those pay off!!:) Love, Ben From Garland, TX!!! Good Luck!!!:) 🍀
Hello fellow Texan! ❤️ Thanks so much for watching our trip to WinStar! We had a blast and are hoping to be back one day. We’ll definitely give those Firecracker machines a go on the next adventure too!
I live in Dallas, so Winstar is an easy trip if we aren’t going to Vegas. The hotel is super nice. The casino is nice, I just wish they had more tables.
Definitely close to you! A quick trip is always nice! Yeah, it’s a little too massive for us and Dave does like to play Let it Ride…didn’t see any tables there. But we might have missed them 🤷♀️
I love the Winstar. I live just outside of Oklahoma City. it is a 2 hour drive. I usually receive comp rooms during the week. If I cannot get a comp room, I have used points at the Marriott instead of paying 400.00. now that school has started, the pool is peaceful and quiet. I am not a cowboys fan, but the sports bar has some good food, they offer half price appitizers and 2.00 draft beer from 3pm to 6pm daily.
looks like a great casino. our texas family goes there often will have to visit on our next trip down there. my favorite home casino is about 45 minutes from us in riverside ia will have to go celebrate our anniversary there in august. thanks for video
Yes, sounds like Choctaw is definitely more up our alley, will have to give it a try! We stayed at the most amazing B&B in Gainesville that we plan on doing a separate video for, so a cute Airbnb sounds good!
Lol! Thanks! The closest airports are probably either DFW or Love (2 different airports in Dallas/Ft Worth, Texas) they are both just over an hour away from the casino. So you would probably need a rental car or I know they have casino shuttles from that area. So not super close to an airport. We also stayed one night at the Marriott about 10 miles from the casino and 1 night at a B & B that was amazing!! We are doing a separate video on that :)
@@DaverrasonTravels Thanks, I still think that your Vegas vlogs are amongst the “BEST” on TH-cam. Looking forward to more content. I have abandoned Caesars Entertainment properties. They’re in a financial mess, they’re paying $6 million/day to just service their debt load, their rooms are substandard for the price range, including Caesar’s Palace. In my opinion, MGM rewards till Gold status should guarantee a 3 day comp plus some free slot and food/beverage credit. Will be interesting when FountaineBleau opens. Resorts world just has never taken off, poor comps and poor overall quality/price. By the way, ask yourself, “When have I seen a “Hand Pay” at ANY Caesars property?” I haven’t seen or experienced one in over 5 years and I’ve been Diamond Plus!

Brings me back good memories ❤❤ have been there ten times love their high rise hotel rooms but p paid so much but didn’t enjoy it busy gambling all day and night lol paid $200 per night in advance 😊
I have been going to Winstar from its beginning. It feels like home to me and I like it better than Las Vegas. It is nice to see it from the view of fresh eyes.
Yes, I have. It started out with a roof that looked like several circus tents put together. I have played there when whole sections were covered and being constructed. That includes several of the last renovations of the bar at the hotel entrance, the spa tower, the spa area, and the new pool section that you did not show in your video. Love this place! It treats me well with lots of perks including rooms, food, and free play! The entire staff is wonderful!!!
That’s great to hear! Yeah, we got all kinds of offers after we came home since we had signed up for the players card. Lol Staying at the hotel might have made it a different experience for us ;)
Another Great video and Happy Anniversary to y’all guys! You mentioned that Bucee’s wasn’t your favorite brisket and understandably, it is just alright for Texas standards. Just curious what is a favorite of y’all’s? We recently tried Burnt Bean BBQ in Seguin and it was really outstanding! Anywho, looking forward to Day 2 and Go NiNers!!
Thanks so much Pearl! Appreciate it! I think we may have heard about that place in Seguin….will have to check it out! We really like 2M smokehouse and two bros barbecue in San Antonio. There are also a few others that are good but definitely much prefer a smoked brisket! GO NINERS! 😁
I live in north Fort Worth about an hour away and have been many times some times i win but I’ve lost thousands here. It’s all about luck no matter what you think 🍀😉
It won’t be fair to Compare Win Star with las Vegas it’s a different experience . Sometimes l love Vegas and sometimes l need something different. You drove from San Antonio Texas l drove from laredo Texas so don’t complain had to pass you lol. Another nice casino is in Choctaw Durant Oklahoma been there too. What l think is they need to have casinos all the way to Las Vegas so you can hop all the way 😂❤❤
You are right, they are different experiences! Because there aren’t casinos close to us, we just think it’s easier to hop on a plane to Vegas! Lol But we do what to try Choctaw! Heard it’s very nice. We also what to try the casinos at Lake Charles one of these days ☺️
There is a casino in Texas. Well 2. but one that is north-east-ish of Houston. Naskila Casino in Livingston, TX. Or you could go to Shreveport/Bossier City, La. 5 casinos in one spot. I avoid Oklahoma casinos when I'm playing blackjack. OK casinos charge a per hand ante on table games. It's robbery. Just some info for possible future outings.
My friend told me that if you put the volume up all the way on a slot machine, it pays out better cause it will be loud to attract more people to play. Can you guys test this theory?
We do always turn up the volume when we play because it’s exciting. But I think it’s still based on the RNG (random number generator). But we will make note of it next trip!
I think the "largest in the world" is only referring to square footage (or square kilometers, depending on the local customs) dedicated to gaming. So it's like "technically the biggest casino in the world"
My husband’s. Lol Dave will use simple ingredients and smoke it all day. Soooo good :) I much prefer a smoked brisket over an over roasted brisket. Other places in Texas that have a really good smoked brisket are: 2M smokehouse and two bros barbecue in San Antonio and Franklins in Austin. But there are more places, these are just a few of my faves.
This is the best comment EVER! 😂😂 We are 43 and got married when we were 22 (we were babies). But we just love doing life and traveling together (that’s what keeps us young 😜) Thanks so much for the sweet comment!

Lol
But we do what to try Choctaw! Heard it’s very nice. We also what to try the casinos at Lake Charles one of these days ☺️
My wife and I are from NE San Antonio. Do y'all ever do cruises?
Hello fellow San Antonians! We just got off a Disney cruise! Will be posting soon! And we also have a carnival cruise booked for July!
@DaverrasonTravels Awesome. We're avid cruisers. Our next cruise is on the Allure of the seas in August out of Miami then the Icon in October
We plan on trying more cruises as they have definitely hooked us 😆
@@DaverrasonTravels we're checking out Wnstar in February... your video gave us the idea
That’s awesome! It’s huge but I think a cool place to see!
Love this place but Choctaw is #1 in Oklahoma haha
We need to check it out! Heard good things about it.
We liked Winstar, didn’t love it. Cool place tho.
We actually had booked Lake Charles a few weeks ago and had to cancel but definitely want to try out the Louisiana casinos! Thanks for the info!
There’s a few underground Casinos in Houston.
They must be clandestine casino
Hell no on the spam sandwich… oh I mean “brisket” lol
@@80Pally 😂😂
U allowed 2 film?
Yea, we kept it discrete and only captured some things. Never had any issues.
You should see it at night from 35 it is so bright it is blinding while you drive
I can imagine!
It doesn't even matter if you decide to go 35W or 35E, either way you'll see a bucees on the left if you're northbound 😂
I think the "largest in the world" is only referring to square footage (or square kilometers, depending on the local customs) dedicated to gaming. So it's like "technically the biggest casino in the world"
For sure! 😂
Yes, that’s how they state it on their website…”the biggest”
Americans are obsessed with pickles! lol Here in the UK, we pick them off our McDonalds every time (well everybody I know does) hahaha
Lol, You are right Tracy! We love our pickles with just about everything 😆
John Ott book 1973 book Health & Light; sunshine is supposed to be in your eyes. Ask Doctor Jack Kruse.
Will do!
Go 49ers 😆🤟
It's cheaper than the Winstar, but you get so so much more bang for your buck there.
We have gotten lots of deals now since our first visit so we will try the hotel next time!
@@DaverrasonTravels We have so many great casinos in Oklahoma. You have to try the Hard Rock and Riverwind in Tulsa.
@j.d.willeford8231 great suggestion! We’ll add them to the list!
On my bucketlist is to go to a Bucee's
Such a cool place!!
Bucee's! You didn't show us the bathroom. 😋
Lol! We did have footage but it was so crazy busy and I couldn’t get any good video without people everywhere 😆
@@DaverrasonTravels I knew it! Private bathroom video. 😙
So what is your favorite Brisket, if not Bucee's?
My husband’s. Lol
Dave will use simple ingredients and smoke it all day. Soooo good :)
I much prefer a smoked brisket over an over roasted brisket.
Other places in Texas that have a really good smoked brisket are:
2M smokehouse and two bros barbecue in San Antonio and Franklins in Austin. But there are more places, these are just a few of my faves.
@@DaverrasonTravels Do a Texas BBQ episode next. 🤠
400 plus taxes.wow!!!! im CN$ that would 520 plus taxes.way too rich for me.
Wow!
21 years of marriage? I thought you guys were only 30 years old.
This is the best comment EVER! 😂😂
We are 43 and got married when we were 22 (we were babies). But we just love doing life and traveling together (that’s what keeps us young 😜)
Thanks so much for the sweet comment!
When y'all gone realize it pronounced 'bussies'
😂😂
Absolutely the worst customer service of any casino I’ve dealt with… and I’ve been to a lot!!
I can totally see that.
That casino smell so bad
Oh man..I guess we were there on a good day. We don’t recall the smell!
Please don’t encourage DA’s to tap rub swipe the screen’s. So annoying slappers
We don’t slap the machines (don’t want to damage them) but we do like to rub or gently tap. lol
It’s just all in fun 😉
