- I climbed Dykh Tau on Sep of 2018.
Dykh Tau is the mountain near from Bezengi Valley of North Caucasus, Russia.
It is steep mountain stood in beautiful nature.
I enjoyed the climbing in fine weather! - กีฬา
My grandfather died climbing Dykh Tau on 2 august 1959 (avalanche), he was 30 years old back then. Now i can imagine what he saw, thank you for the view.
That's sad but also very impressive. Back in the 50th there was by far not so good gear than today. Unbelivable!

After long years of winter climbing in High Tatras and exact 100 classical (ground up) first ascents in czech sandstones and other czech rock areas I got crippled just walking outdoors :-( And only these videos keep me still alive ... (although I was feeling a mountain ilness already in 1800-1850 metres - it was always crazy to see swallows flying in february and not only flying, but also stopping when they came to !!traffic lights with RED)

Ok. So scary. It looks as though the lead climber didn't place any pro. I didn't see anything so that's amazing given the severe exposure and steepness. Even following while being belayed from above is still mind boggling. Awesome job. I love your videos.

After watching this video, you could tell me you ran out on a cornice on an eight-thousander ridge, broke it off under your weight, and comfortably surfed it back down to base camp from the death zone and I would believe you.
It's sooo beautiful. And when I am honest it looks like the Himalayas.

On the scale from 1 to 10 how difficult and dangerous was this route?
Definitely the highest technically difficult mountain in Europe to climb (Elbrus looks like a piece of cake compared to this)
but elbrus is still one of the most difficult mount to reach. need so much time to reach peak and 5643 m is no joke + -30 c makes still so hard.but i still agree dykh -tau is extremly difficult

I have a few questions out of curiosity :)
1. How do you get to places like this - does a helicopter drop you off near the base and then pick you up after a few days?
2. Is it harder to climb to the summit or to climb back down to the base?
3. Is it hard to identify which mountain is the one you're looking to climb?
1 you need to get to any village/town next to your mountain, then you hike and make camps on your way
2 descent is harder cause you are already tired after the climb, for me it's also more scary to look down all the time
3 it's difficult sometimes to keep the very track you want to pass, but mountain? XD Never heared abour anybody climbing different mountain than planned
