In 1991-92 I worked at a 7-11 near Santa Clara University and we had a Funhouse machine. There was a teaser that would sometimes play Rudy's voice at random moments of inactivity, which could be disconcerting during graveyard shifts. Rudy and I eventually became pals, and I would love to have one of these!
Shooting the trap door during midnight multiball is such a tough shot, you have to time the upper left flipper perfectly but with 1 or 2 other balls bouncing around and not wanting them to drain you usually have to mash the left flipper to keep the rest of the balls in play and so you can't get a real "clean" upper left flipper shot off. This is a super tough machine and it's easy to have a really short game lasting only a few minutes, that left drain area is so small and can be so cheap.
Everyone says Rudy is a jerk, but you gotta admit, he's pretty level-headed about getting hit in the face with stainless steel pinballs. I'd be going berserk
This is the only pin ball game I ever liked and was able to beat, back in 1991 .. I wouldn't play it after I got good because for that 1 quarter lasted forever! Me and my sis still say , have a hot dog in Rudy's voice. whenever we see hot dogs or eating them.
@Doug, you've got that plunger skillshot into Rudy's hideout down to a science lol. I feel like a lot of people who play this table aren't even aware that such a skillshot exists. I think on the game's default setting (normal 3 ball mode with extra balls activated) it starts off at 250k, then 500k, then 750k, then 1 million and 1 million each time from there on, it can really add up during a long game.
I am an old timer, and I will never be able to retire because I spent all my money and youth dumping quarters into Funhouse.

I used to play one of these at my local bowling alley as a teenager. Very fun pinball game :)
This game is one of the 26 pinball games in my Pinside wishlist.

This is one of my favorite pinball machines alongside black hole
My husband and I often quote Rudy "I'm not happy with you now!"
