The humility of this woman is out of this world. She doesn't know why we would want to watch her videos! I love everything about this channel: the house is so warm and inviting, the landscape of the area is relaxing, the green fields are beautiful, the way she speaks, her ideas and methods, etc, etc, etc. There are soooo many channels on TH-cam of crafters that just paint and glue things they have bought pre-made at the typical places we all know, and they AAALLLL come up with the same projects over and over, 🤦🤦😒that when you see someone really working on something new it's exciting!!! Keep it up Mary! 👏👏👏👏👏

In a world of chaos you bring serenity to us through your videos. You exude a calmness that relaxes us whether you are cooking or creating. Your home is beautiful and inviting. If we are outdoors with you we can almost feel the nature that surrounds you. Along with many others I cannot wait at the end of a hectic day and get comfy in my own home and relax while watching you share your God-given talents with all of us! Bless you for blessing us, Mary! You’ve earned each and every one of your 300,000 subscribers!

I giggled when you said you don’t know why anyone would want to watch your TH-cam channel because I look forward to every Wednesday when I know your latest edition will be available! I love watching your happy, very inspiring videos! They are a great comfort to me. Thank you for working so hard to make them!

Want to know why we watch you? You are real, completely unpretentious, creative, a good teacher, have a beautiful spirit, refreshing, reminder of the beauty of simplicity, and the kind of person I’d love to sit on the front porch swing with and have a cup of tea! Blessings, Mary, as you are a blessing to us!

I remember my great Aunt and Grandmother having a few of these hassocks they made from coffee cans and the larger juice cans, using heavy upholstery fabric leftovers to cover them. They always filled the cans with sand so they were sturdy enough that adults could use them as a step stool and a foot rest, although I'm not sure the sand filling was neccessary. The sand filled hassocks were definitely not as easy to move around; but one or two handles were sewn into the top or a side seam to help drag them around.
I spent a lot of time sitting on those can hassocks as a little girl. Thank You for bringing back some warm fuzzy memories, and sharing some great instructions so I can make one or two of these, and let my Grandkids try and figure out what they're made of while they have something their size to sit on. 💕

My mother-in-law made one of these and I received it after her death. It is ingenious! She made hers by double stacking the cans, which made it taller, of course. Please do more of these crafts. Too much of our heritage of “making do” has been lost.

Donna, your comment made me smile..... I have followed Mary since the beginning, and one of the cutest things she has always said in her videos is how something she uses or has "will have to do for now" lol.
She is probably one of the most if not THE most deserving beautiful souls I have ever seen in my life, Mary is a breath of fresh air, if there were more people in this world like Mary we would all be so very blessed for it...she truly is a genuine and golden soul inside and out.....she more than deserves every good thing that touches her life.....
May God continue to bless her heart and soul, her life and her families lives, they have ALL got to be so very proud of Mary! I know I am proud of her and from the comments made most all the rest of us are just as proud....good job Mary!

I remember these!!!! My grandma had one and we did too! My grandma was an amazing seamstress too. She slipcovered everything from scraps and old clothes. Growing up during the depression they didn't waste a single thing. I figured it would be pretty cut and dry to make. Just never put the effort into locking in the steps. Thanks for sharing! Your series idea sounds like a winner!

When visiting my 96 year old Mom she was telling me about how you can make a small hassock from tin cans. Her mother did this many years ago. I may have to give this a try for her as she is wanting something light to grab to put her feet up on. Thanks Mary. Always look forward to your videos here in Buckhorn, Ontario, Canada.

For me your videos bring back a time when things were simpler and wholesome. A time when we reused and recycled and fixed what was broken. A time when we cooked homemade meals and baked delicious breads and pies and treats in our grandmothers kitchen. From the music in your videos to your soft spoken voice….everything reminds of the good ole days when things moved much slower and we appreciated what we had. I feel blessed to have found your channel especially during these uncertain times. I can forget what’s going on around me and remember the days of my youth growing up on the farm.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Mary! My Grandmother, and several ladies in our Church, used to make these hassocks. We received one as a wedding gift and had it for years until it fell apart. It was covered in maroon horse hair fabric (probably from an old sofa) with a leather bottom, rather than wood, and trimmed in gold rickrack. Thank you for the memories. 💝

Dear Mary, I rarely comment but I always watch your weekly videos. Your hassock is adorable. You shouldn't be surprised at how many followers you have. You are so talented and more importantly so down to earth. As a fellow Christian I am thankful for you and I love how God has blessed you and your family.

My Grandma Parker made one of these for me when I was 3 or 4. She made collected juice cans from everyone and made one for all the kids she babysat. Wonderful lady and wonderful memories! Thank you for bringing those memories back!!

Mary you are so humble. Why wouldn't anyone want to watch your videos? You're just so interesting in content & to watch. Never think that you are not interesting, because you are. This little stool is darling. So inventive!! I would love to spend the day with you & learn so much of your Amish ways. Keep doing what you do & you will be ok in the eyes of your viewers. God bless.

Congratulations Mary. I became a subscriber at 13,000. I was painting all my furniture white while watching your earlier painting videos. To God be the Glory. I love the scripture that says, "If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land;" Isa 1:19. Thank you for inspiring all of us.
