Whoever worked on that arrangement of O Canada should be honoured for services to music.

here, right before your eyes. every day a uniquely canadian television network takes to the air. it's distinct, it's essential, it brings canadians of all ages, of all kinds together. and you, are at its heart"

Living in NH we had French CBC on our cable systems. I wish all TV stations had to sign off at night still. I wonder if MPBN still does?

I love how all the frequencies and call letters are mentioned before O Canada. KUED (PBS) of Salt Lake City used to do this really well.

I remember watching CBC on Satellite 🛰️....in California.....it was always Great to See Canada......CBMT tv 6.... always on....That was in the late 80s and early 90s.
No You Tube or Internet back than....now we can watch every Channel now with our phones!!!...just amazing

This was the sign off used only on Sunday nights. It was not used at any other point in the week.

The part with the CBC Master Control credits wasn't used throughout the
week, Crafter...that list of names was only seen on Sunday nights/early
      Monday mornings. =P

Our 24-hr stations around the country should sign off/in at 5:59pm every Thursday so that everyone can listen to the anthem.

I believe this is for the English-speaking population of Montreal, am I right?

Pretty much, but the Day After Day video can also be found in French, I believe. I remember hearing the French version on the French CBC.

@@ftjm69 they basically have the same video, but it has two versions in French and English.

CBMT was also broadcast throughout Quebec on a series of transmitters in other cities.

How come CBC Montreal can be reached as far as Northern Manitoba? Is there a French Community up there?

    • @essvee86
      @essvee86 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Now that's interesting. When did CBC Manitoba took over?

Keep in mind this station is English-speaking. I'd think the French channel is different.

CBMT does and always has broadcast in English only. CBFT 2 is the French Radio-Canada affiliate in Montreal.
I notice they also fed a station in Armstrong, Ontario, which is quite a ways north of Thunder Bay. I wonder if there was some problem hooking up with CBLT or CBWT, which both historically had repeater stations in the same region of Ontario.

That would be hard to come by. 9 became CBET in 1975, and at that time, high-quality home videotape was VERY expensive.

What the: One thing I never told you is that even the Simpsons animation crew members have taken a poke at: The Canadians, which is wrong. It's not just the "South Park" animation crew members who took a poke at the Canadians. Which reminds me of what else? I never got rid of the jigsaw puzzle that shows forth one of Ted Blaylock's paintings/a mural that shows forth a Canadian steam engine train rolling on a Canadian railway. Especially on a cold, cloudy, snowy winter night.🌙 🌃 🌉 🌌 😴 ⛺️ 🌙 🥶 ☃️ 🧥 🧊 ⛸️ 🍧 🏒 🍨 ❄️ 🧊 🚆 🚉 🚄 🚋 🚈 🚅 🚆👣 🛤 🔀 👣 🌨 🏔 🌨 ⛅️ 🇨🇦
