Thanks! The root rake is just something I improvised from construction grade steel wire. I'm glad you like it. I try to do my best when working on a tree but I still have a lot to learn both on bonsai and video making. Seing what it means to film yourself working on a tree made me appreciate even more the efforts you put into your channel especially this past week. Seing one new Nigel Saunders video each day was a great treet!
Thank you for the welcome. It means a lot that you like the channel idea since you inspired it. :) Before seing some of your more unusual bonsais I never even thought of trainig anything other than the usual conifers and small-leaved broadleaf trees into a Bonsai. So thanks for inspiring me and I hope that my videos will inspire others to start their bonsai journey.
Great start to your channel, Stefan! Very educational from the start. And what a fantastic find! The nebari looks so old already. I hope there are plans for “next step” video in this trees development. Oh, and WOW have your video producing skills come a long ways! You are quite the student, my friend, always learning and growing.
Thanks Bald Yetti! It's been a year (and a few days) since I posted that video. The yucca has grown a lot and it looks so nice that my wife likes it as a houseplant :). So the "next step", which will involve a chop somewhere lower on the main trunk, will probably be postponed a bit. Looking back, it really looks like I learned a lot this year :) And, as you say, I'm still learning with every new tree and every new video...
Thanks! This Yucca just started to sprout new branches. The next update will probably be when it gains some new growth+vigour so that I can cut back the trunk to a more manageable height.
Thanks. The yucca is alive and doing very well. I haven't done anything else with it since I made the video. I like the ay it looks now so much that I'm not goin to prune it yet. When I decide to prune it I'm going to make a video.
Thank you! Yes, this yucca recovered and is growing very well. I decided not prune it back this summer as I initially said in the video so maybe next year I will do the pruning.
That's a nice root rake you have! Really good work on the tree and a super video. I really like your vision for the tree also!

That's great! These are the best finds. One tip: It doesn't need much water, especially if it has no leaves. Good luck with your new yucca!

Yes, the quality is bad. It was my first video. Still learning...
