Einar's contribution to the Vikings soundtrack was amazing and this performance is just so beautiful. As you have not seen the series, Einar made a short cameo in S4E6, as a Skald (singer/poet of the Viking era), singing as the fleet left port. At 5:30 I lost it. Look at him completely encapsulate the emotion and sound of a warrior letting out his last breath on a battlefield and seeing their brothers who lay dead awaiting the Valkyrie to hasten them to Valhalla. Einar is something this world needs more of, I have never seen in my lifetime someone that is so connected to the emotions that he seems to come out of a trance that actually connected him to dying ancestor. I feel changed forever just by hearing it.
I'm a big fan of Wardruna, Einar’s voice is so incredible. I think he’s one of my favourite male singers ever. So much emotion in every single tone. Their music was so amazing in vikings, it really made everything even a million times better (also one of my favourite shows ever haha) I really would love to see Aurora and Wardruna actually record a single together. I’m general, I’d love to hear more folk-ish style from her. (But I love everything she does it doesn’t really matter😅) oh and I almost forgot, I also love Assassins Creed and I cannot wait for Valhalla! There’s nothing that I love more than Viking themed games or movies/music. Makes me feel home and connected 🥰

Well was Valhalla what you thought it would be? Unfortunately I think the soundtrack was the best thing about it. I ran out and got it day 1 and by day 3 or 4 I was wishing I had just waited and rented it. But you are correct, when the warriors were sailing off to Paris,it was a real treat to see Einar singing them off, although he looks like he could swing a sword with the best of 'em!
@@jeffknowswhatsupoldsoul1978 same thing here. I got it the first day but was kinda let down. Sure it’s playable and has some moments but it wasn’t really all that amazing as I thought it would be. Music was great though ^^
@@lithia4069 of course it was,it had Einar lol. I like watching people react to him or Wardruna. They are at loss of words. No matter what's happening in the world,his voice alone or not just makes it go away. It just really calms me nerves lol

I still think you would love the Färöese singer Eivor Pålsdottir. Salt is a song with strong use of the old norse reference of sea to male, and earth/nature to female. You should listen to more of Einar Selvik. He has alot collaborations with Ivar Bjørnson which there are alot of live videos here on youtube. Im sure you would like some of that.

Great reaction. Just listened to this yesterday :) Einar Selvik is from Bergen, just like Aurora. If you want more Norwegian gold, check out Susanne Sundfør, I recommend "the silicone veil - Live from Parkteatret", "White foxes" or "Delirious". Any one will do, really 😄

I love Wardrunas “Lyfjaberg”! 🥰 sometimes I don’t understand what Einsr sings, some words are Understandable, others are old norse. But in Lyfjaberg it is Understandable Norwegian. Einar Selvik commented, "The song expresses that climbing a tough mountain, both in reality and metaphorically, is a mental as well as a physical effort. I have tried to write this journey up the mountain as one for the mind and spirit as much as the feet and body. Anything of true value, comes at a true cost”. I haven’t heard The Vikings music before, so this was new to me. Einars voice is raw! I like that in a Norwegian Viking! 😄 Adam, don’t forget to react to Angelina Jordan too! 🥰

You should check out the song VOLUSPÁ by WARDRUNA. It was the first song in this medley. I saw you got goosebumps hearing it. You need to react to the full song. The (There's a wolf in the Thumbnail)
Another great song is called ODIN by FAUN ft EINER SELVIK. (live) Also an amazing song/performance.
The last song I will recommend is by a woman named EIVØR and the song FALLING FREE (live) she has some of the Aurora/Nordic sounds you really like.

I found your channel tonight and saw this on your list and was sold - this video has been a favorite of mine for a couple of years...Einar Selvik is incredible. The look on his face when he finishes singing shows him coming back to earth after losing himself in this song..a beautiful thing to see. You should also check out Tina Guo, the cellist in this - she is amazingly talented as well.
The beginning is a song called Voluspa, do check out his full version of it! Also, my favourite song of his is Kvervandi, which he made with Ivor Bjornson, the acoustic version especially! He's just... Othertimey, rather than just otherworldly.
We dont understand diddly scuat ( dont know how to spell that😁)of that either😂 its ooold norwegian,could have been in Greek for all I know. WOW for You here ! This is such a fantastic compilation of several epiodes from Vikings, but the carrying music is Einars interpretation of Voluspa (Volu = from the Völvas, the seeresses weaving the destiny of mankind, Urd, Skuld and Verdandi, and spa = spå =predict future). Voluspa is part of the poetic edda = the literary poetry for nordic mythology. The language is old Norse which is the common language for allt the vikings which then branched out to the present languages. No-one has old Norse as their main language anymore (or?) but Icelandic and Färö-ese are very close. It is like the role of latin for the roman languages. Now... ? Glad you liked that one, Adam. I actually just completed AC: Odyssey and I too am looking forward to valhalla. Speaking of, try pronouncing the "Wa" in Wardruna like the "Va" in Valhalla. It's a flatter a. Also, Einar made a great collab with the german band Faun. The song is named Odin. Try that. Faun is a whole other rabbit hole, to warn you. If you go down that, try Egil Saga or Walpurgisnacht.

Seeing that you like norwegian music, there is a young norwegian singer and songwriter called AURORA that you might like. Might not be your type of music, but give her a try. She might surprise you. She does covers also. Great voice.

I know I'm a little late but had to tell ya that Einar's sings like Odin himself is channeling through him. I don't have to understand anything he says,I can feel it. I had never pre-ordered an album before but I did Kvitravn and had zero regrets! I also got their Ravens t-shirt and couldn't be happier. I have not heard anything from him or Wardruna that I haven't loved. Even the stuff he does with Ivar Bjornson is epic. Being a practicing pagan the one that really moves me is Odin with Faun ft: Einar. He has a concert on TH-cam done fairly recently,it is something to hear if you haven't. He can almost bring tears to my eyes just from the emotions he sends out with his words. He has a place in Valhalla that's for sure. He almost says that we need to go back to the"old ways" on the concert but came just short of saying it lol. Everyone knew what he meant.

The lady playing the cello is Tina Guo. A person worth a visit on her own Not necessarily a cello fan but love her. She is just as comfortable dressed in leather with a Metal band as she is in a ball gown playing Bach! She is amazing!!
