Mr Yip is explaining the use of "黏手"(Sticky hand) .
黏手 is a way to increase your sensitivity to the "muscle energy", under the "Sticky hand" condition, when your opponent try to hit you , you will feel the slight force he made, and you will be able to react much quicker or even out beat your opponent.
The main principle of chinese art , is about Ying and Yang(Tai Chi) , is about "balance". This is something that you could only be understood by "experiece" or "aquire" .

Yip Chun has improved greatly since his fathers death. Is it possible that some of Yip Man's senior students tutored him and enhanced his techniques? His techniques seem so much more refined than just after his father's death...he seemed to be off track then but has since headed to the proper direction. Great video!

Ying and Yang is just a theory , a concept , you will have to understand it by its meaning. Just like Bruce Lee said "Be water, my friend". Water is Yin in chinese concept, because of it's "flexibility" (Adaption) . If you hit water , water will "accept the force fully and make changes without go against on the force" , if you try to grab water , water will leak out of your hand.
When you attempt a punch , use every energy of you body , gravity , leg, body , wrist , etc...

Ying and Yang is the foundermental law of the nature.
For example, when you are talking about Speed and "Muscle Force" , they are two different extreme of each side, when you gain Force , you are actually losing Speed. Therefore , base on this Ying And Yang theory , you have to relax your whole body when pracising 詠春 in order to be able to use the full energy of your mucles. And , use acceration speed when you about to hit the target, when you be in contact with the target , then you use energy

@klsuperman wing chun and tai chi is just different in style , they are the same in the "inside" . Tai Chi can be practice anywhere if you've learned the "套路(the set of fighting technique)" by hard.

    I see.
What about the principle? Like be sensitive to the movement of your opponent, don't try to use force against force, the use of efficient movement?

In a nutshell, Ying and Yang is about "balance"/"harmony", is not about who is stronger , is about finding your opponent weakness. When someone attack you , you defend/avoid. If you block , you will have to use strength, and "blocking" is an unefficient solution. Western like using Force against Force (Yang against Yang), and Asian will tell you to use Yin to control Yang. That is why chinese don't play Arm Wrestling, because it goes against the law of Yin and Yang.
