I am the biggest chicken on the planet. My Instapot sat on my counter for 10 months before I worked up the nerve to try and boil eggs. I was afraid of "pressure" cooking. I finally got beyond that but when I tried to fit my new air cooker lid on the air pot it didn't seem to fit. Your video took away enough of my fear to allow me to use the new lid and now I can't wait to try a bunch of other recipes. Thank you for the courage, your explanation was so clear I knew the lid did not have to lock down and that opened the door. Thank you so very much for making your instruction idiot proof.

I downsized from the 8qt instant pot to the 6 so I could also have the air fryer lid. Space is key on a boat. My favorite things to throw in, Baked potatoes with oil rubbed on and heavy salted skin for super crisp potatoes, Second is I buy leg quarters and freeze them two to a bag. I pull out a bag from the freezer. drop them in the air fryer basket. spray a little cooking oil on and season with what every I have. 30 to 35 minutes later they are crisp and cooked through. no muss no fuss. Thawed pork chops come out tender and tasty as well.

Did you get this or something else? I'm at the stage where you were when you posted. What's holding me up now is I am debating if I want an air firer that is also a rotisserie and an oven. I know some reviewers complaint is it is small and don't cook much at one time. I live alone so that is not an issue. Yes it would be if you were talking about my son with 4 kids. I look forward to your reply.

@@francisdhomer5910 I did not. I have a convection oven and this is just a countertop convection oven. No need for us to buy what we already have. I have started using racks on top of my cookie sheets to get better air flow. Works out great.

@@mlcarver1739 Thanks for your quick response. Yes I have heard it is basically a convection oven. If I had one I wouldn't be thinking of an air Frier but I have a small space for a stove I don't see one in my future. I live alone so it may be right for me, but I am starting to lean towards a combination aire firier, rotisserie, toaster oven. stumbled across them in my research so it is taking me longer. But I have always been that way with any large purchase. Take my time and look at all my options. Don't look at the price at first, but later I will look at the best bang for my buck. Thanks for your input it has helped

Thanks for this tutorial. Received the air fryer lid a few days and was dismayed that there were absolutely no real instructions on how to use it. Primarily just a thin manual that described the various parts included with the item and warranty info. You did a great job but still not sure how you prepare the food, Do you use no oil or how much? IP should pay you to provide the instructions they omit.

    • @AldiMamma

Thanks for such a kind comment! I bought a spray can of canola oil, and typically spray with that. My husband forgot oil once, it still worked, but is better with oil. I’ve also tried tossing in peanut oil, that works as well. The one thing I don’t love after using it for a while is the broil plate-with the weight of food on it it tends to fall, so the “double layer cooking” is still kind of a bust for me

    • @AldiMamma
      @AldiMamma  4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

Now that I’ve been using it for a month I can answer confidently-it just sits in place. It does make the chiming noise to indicate it is sitting in place properly-it aligns just like the pressure lid, but it does not lock. I believe that it doesn’t lock because it beeps halfway through indicating you need to flip your food and it lifts right off. Although I’ve also discovered you don’t really have to flip the food and it generally comes out fine. Hope that’s helpful!

I have been using my the same air fryer.. no it does not work, when seating onto the Instant Pot it occasionally
chimes when seated.. does not work consistently any more.. suggestions?

For mine, it does the chime once it’s in the correct place, much like the regular lid does. I think this makes sure it’s lined up properly. If it’s not lined up, it won’t come on, I believe that’s a safety feature

This might be a stupid question, but can we do small size pizza with this? :)

I don’t know, but I might just try that tomorrow! I’ll bet you could as long as the diameter was small enough!

Is the lid supposed to be loose on there?

Yes, it just sits on the top, it doesn’t tighten like the regular lid does!

Hope someone can answer me on this question. I had to replace my 6-quart instant pot. For for whatever reason it stopped working properly. It would take twice as long to cook something. When I reordered a new one I accidentally got an eight quart.

Please pay attention to your instant pot…you are trying to sell not just your appliance…pay attention to your hands 🙌 make sure your hands are very clean and especially your appliance…go over what your you tube shows your pot is dirty…I worked in a professional kitchen…not impressed…you had to know what your audience sees

Friendly suggestion (and it is friendly, I'm trying to not be snarky), but you'd get more viewers if you washed and scrubbed down the appliance before doing the demo. Just saying, it was a little off putting.
