I know as an adult using a sinus rinse device should be self explanatory but I had questions and this video effectively answered all of them without me sounding like a nimwit or paying my physician to see me in private to answer my questions. Thank you for being an awesome human and thank you for sharing without charging me $90 just to click on the video!! Liked

My Doctor suggested I use saline rinse, but never instructed me on the proper use. This is a great video. Instead of just spraying it I now use it as a rinse. Big improvement in rinsing loose mucus and irritants.

I have been suffering from sinusitis for a few days after getting over a cold, which I've just learned is not uncommon. The facial and tooth pain has been nasty at times, so in desperation, I made a solution of 1 tsp chemical-free salt and 1/3 of a tsp of baking soda in a cup of water then just used a regular measuring cup as a neti pot, tilting my head and letting it run into my nose. It worked and the effect has been impressive. My sinuses are clearer than they've been in ages, and the pain has been gone for a few hours now. I'm getting a neti pot and will be a regular user of one. I've always had troublesome sinuses, and I think this is what I've been missing.

Thanks, Dr. Atkins, for your advice.
I daily use the NeilMed Sinus Rinse with a prescription solution added to distilled water and the NM salt.
My gripe is that the tube in every NeilMed bottle does not go deep enough into the vessel. After fully using the NeilMed's accessible contents, there remains a decent amount of water -- and prescription liquid -- below the tube's end.
Every NeilMed tube has the same deficiency. In 20 days, I completely filled a NeilMed container with inaccessible liquid I daily poured from another NeilMed bottle.
I contacted NeilMed and recommended that the company slightly lengthen the tube so that more of the liquid can be withdrawn. NeilMed's response? I received another NeilMed bottle from the company. Its tube, too, had the same literal shortcoming.

I have on going sinus through out the year, got a sinus spray on prescription ,but not really working,
Ive tried the Nasal sinus bent angle using low pressure,
This left me with savoir eye pressure pain, headache on right side of head and constant pressure in the face, every time I lay down it made it worse,
It should be noted to be used with caution,
Many people state they clear and unblock sinus passages, but if you have a blocked nose it is not meant to be used,
I believe water gets through the blocked passages and some becomes trapped causing more pressure to theses areas,Several days it left me in a worse condition than before,
I think the one you demonstrated with the bent nozzle tilting the head should only be used as a flush if a irritation from pollen when suffering from a runny nose but not when blocked ,
From what I gather most blocked nostrils is due to the swelling of nasal passage, and the sprays reduce the inflammation
and the flush is to help kill and flush unwanted bacteria that caused the infection and being trapped,on the lining,
So all have there purpose but should be used appropriate to the condition a person has,
And seek medical advice before usage,

I used too much salt when I did irrigation and choked giving me the scare of my life. So if you are going to do nasal irrigation please make sure you don't put too much salt in. Unfortunately that put me off so I got a nasal spray sinusoothe and that keeps my sinuses clear. I used to have terrible congestion due to allergies that also caused sinus infections but this not only keeps my passages clear but also has cured my infection and my allergies don't seem to be as bad. I also haven't caught a cold, flu or even COVID since I started using this over two years ago. But I still take COVID precautions. maybe I've just been lucky.

My doctor said that my breathing problem is caused by some sort of allergic reaction, do you think this will help?

Not regular salt...use ¼.5 tsp pink Himalayan salt or nettipot salt and warm distilled water, shake well. I use a netti bottle. Warm your water in separate cup don't put bottle in microwave. Test temp on back hand.

  • @KennethHuckstep-js5kd

Use distilled water, tap water is reported to have brain eating critters unless you boil it for 5 mins and let cool then fill bottle and heat in the microwave for 30 seconds. If you press on the side of your nose on the opposite side you have the nozzle in then squeeze softly to fill that cavity you will feel the pressure on your ears then release and blow the snot out. Repeat until the bottle is empty then refill and do the other side. I like to use two saline packets if I am super stuffed up . pour a cap full of peroxide in the ear canal with your head tilted side ways hear is sizzle for a minute then let it drain and towel this can help kill inflammation inside the ear canal as well. Gargle with warm salt water to clear the back of the tthroat. Sniffle and swallow the rest.. .....there are not many instruction when you get this and I did it all wrong with a high priced manage matching that gave me the worst nose bleed of my life. Be very gentle but reputation is the key to success.

It's probably really difficult to get that technique right. Noses are supposed to let air into the back of the throat not out the other side, so the sinuses are probably aligned that way. Don't worry if you can't get it right, just do one at a time and let the water either drain back out or let it go down your throat.
