This is why I’m here. I also did not see Paul Williams in the credits. Wonderful song from the past. So glad the show used it. Blessings from Sue in Delaware
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel also brought me back to this wonderful music. Very timely for these challenging days of the 2020 pandemic. These songs offer shelter in the midst of this storm.
This man is a GIANT when it comes to music, feelings and words. The best ever. I have loved this song since it came out, so I’m no spring chicken! Lol! My favorite song! Paul Williams is wonderful.
It's so true that song writers performing their "original works" is "pure musical beauty"....thank you again, Mr Williams.....I pray God bless you and yours abundantly
Agree totally Ian White. *Hello* is another example of his brilliance - words so many feel and never know how to say it. I lost everything I owned in one of life's cruellest event. I had the clothes I was standing on - my photos of my children and family and my music are what I grieve for still to this day, 23 years on. His show in Canberra 40 odd yrs ago was the first and only concert I'd been to - it soothed my burning heart. Another of my favourites is Gary Puckett and the Union Gap, 42 yrs after I first heard him and guess what I'm getting for xmas/birthday tickets to see them?! Im so excited that my granddaughter who bought the tickets is coming with me - she's 24 and knows a lot of his music too. I'm 75% dependent on a wheelchair now and was a bit concerned that I'd be right up the back of the theatre. My granddaughter mentioned my concerns when she purchased the tickets and the gentleman asked her to hold on the line for a minute, then told her they were happy to seat us in *1st class seating*, at no extra charge. What a gracious gesture. Whilst there are those in our city who feel entitled to take from others what they want and damage beyond repair anything else, there are far more kind, caring, empathetic and genuine people living alongside us in our communities. I won't ever replace the photos but with today's technology I can listen to my music. I still long for the days of 33s, 78s and 45s playing on a quadraphonic stereo. The good old days.......... 🎤🎶🎼🎵
I knew it was Paul Williams singing and thought he wrote song also. The Carpenters also recorded it which I had an 8-track tape of but now all on CDs. I was watching Mrs. Maisel also. I'm 61 so know more about his encyclopedia of songs. He's starred in some interesting movies and shows. He and Pat McCormick were so funny together.
Same here. I am late to the party with Mrs Maisel. Have always loved Karen Carpenter singing this but Paul Williams also brings something special to the song he wrote.
Excellent upload, equally excellent quality. Paul Williams wrote many fine songs, covered by other artists, too. Sensitive and sincere, profound yet simple, Williams was just as good as Cat Stevens and David Gates of Bread.
Glad to see you're still around. A beautiful songwriter and singer and simply a really genuinely nice guy. Long time no see but never forgotten. 'Who Said You're Short'. Australia misses you......... Joy Williamson.
Paul Williams music gave me solace and comfort through the most painfully lonely and saddest years of my life and hanging onto hope by my fingernails until meeting the of my life and my reason to live.
Hot damn! Who writes like this anymore??? And the composition is awesome! And by the way, some of the most beautiful photos to accompany one of the most beautiful songs...ever. Well done. Thanks
3: 15 BEST PIANO PART !! i try to play that part LOUDER on the PIANO when i play it .... best song version ever - since PW himself composed it. Only his inner emotions flow through this beautiful song. .. thanx for posting ..
+George Martin Sorry, but IMHO you are wrong. The Carpenters were amazing, but Paul is just as good or better, too, he's fantastic with a unique and heartfelt style. And a very talented song writer!
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel brought me here
Me too! What a lovely song.
Me too! I didn't see Paul Williams name in the credits, but I knew the voice. Took a little while searching...
Me too.
This is why I’m here. I also did not see Paul Williams in the credits. Wonderful song from the past. So glad the show used it. Blessings from Sue in Delaware

It’s so beautiful. Obviously best rendition. I miss my wife so much
Heard this on Mrs Maisel. Just had to know who sang this song. Wow. I love it.
I've been binge-watching the series. Great production not least because of the treasure trove of songs.
Me too and I listen to the Paul Williams and the Carpenters version and it's just a beautiful song!!!!

Beautiful rendition. Mrs Maisel season 3 brought me here
"What I've got they used to call the blues."
Ok, you got me, Paul.
Paul’s version is the best.
Makes you think of the divine, the Blessed Trinity.
His songs make me so meloncholy. Bittersweet and brings me back to a sweet and innocent time in my life.
Reminds me of being a little girl, driving around in the car with my dad.
I'm feeling that.

Great talent. I hear a bit of Harry Nilsson.

what genre is this?
KARAOKE PLEASEEEEE....
The meaning of this song hurts.... you can take all the shit the word throws at you but only a woman can bring you down.
+Aldrin Baliton Not only a woman. Only a lover. It's applicable for both genders... it was a big hit when KAREN CARPENTER recorded it!...
