    Great video. Well done on all the examples, candid insights, and overall insight to purchasing. I’m sure this will be helpful for others. Keep traveling, the EKKOnesters.

      That registration hoopla was something else. This was a really helpful video. I am in search of an Ekko now. I am a little torn between the two versions so that is my major holdup.

    Thanks so much for taking your time to make this video it was super informative. I had no idea how much work owning an RV was and the knowledge it took to “check all the boxes” so I’m glad you laid it all out. I’m from CO but living in UT and while we are a ways off from retirement I know it’ll be here before we know it. Save travels and I look forward to watching your adventures.

    Super video. I actually found out about La Mesa a couple months ago, and love it there. Imdoor van after van. I want the Ekko the most. My two drawbacks, wish it was 4X4 and I hear you can't swivel the seats unless the doors are open. As soon as I can get one (finances add up) Hopefully by then if the swivel issue is corrected, and possibly 4x4 will be added.

      We hope you find the RV you are looking for. Winnebago now has a version of the EKKO built on the Sprinter in addition to the Transit. We believe the seats can swivel without opening the doors in the Sprinter, but you may want to verify that. You might be able to add 4x4 as an aftermarket product. Fit RV has a video comparing the Sprinter and Transit versions of the EKKO: th-cam.com/video/NAnpHD5CiEk/w-d-xo.html

    A nightmare and informative. Thanks!! We are looking at the EKKO, but we are looking at the Grech Strada. My husband and I grew-up camping and we currently have a small travel trailer. I want something I can handle and I hate poor quality. I know great quality = great price, so I keep going back and forth.

      We're glad you found our video useful. You're right, our purchase process did not go smoothly, but we're not sure we would call it a nightmare. We have our EKKO and we are enjoying it. We hope you get the rig that is right for you and get on the road to enjoy it.

    Random, but how tall are you? 11:07 I’m considering the Ekko, as my full time home in retirement. I’m 5’10” and wondering about ceiling height in the bedroom area.

    • @BackroadBuddies
      @BackroadBuddies  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Kimber, We are both right at 6’. The main floor area outside the bedroom give loads of headroom, but inside the bedroom there are basically 2 usable standing platforms. We can stand on the first/lower step with a couple inches of room to spare over our heads and is fine for getting dressed. The second/upper step is possible to get dressed on but we have to stoop a little bit.

    Regarding the heated spaces like the garage, why are they only heated when you’re parked?

    • @BackroadBuddies
      @BackroadBuddies  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's because they are heated by our furnace, not the Ford Transit engine. The furnace runs on propane and it is not safe to leave the propane turned on when driving down the road, so we never have the furnace on when driving. Thus, the spaces are only heated when we are parked, and turn on the propane and the furnace.

    You are amazingly thorough! What would you charge us to inspect a new Ekko?

    • @BackroadBuddies
      @BackroadBuddies  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your kind words. We are not looking to go into the business of doing inspections. We have enough on our plate. If you cannot find someone to do an inspection for you, we would recommend following the EKKO Delivery Checklist found on glide apps: go.glideapps.com/play/sf1vxXvrVOI5KgJgaNtU/dl/dcc150

    I was looking at an Ekko at a local dealer and they wanted FULL MSRP! I would like to get feedback from any owners how much if any discounts from MSRP were offered. I'll look for owners forums as well to see if that is everyones experience in purchasing.

    • @BackroadBuddies

    I have never used RV toilet paper in my cassette toilet 3 years never a problem don’t pay for the markup prices

    • @BackroadBuddies
      @BackroadBuddies  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's great that you've had no problems. Using regular toilet paper in a cassette toilet is probably not as bad as in a regular RV toilet with a black tank. And not all RV and non-RV toilet paper behaves the same. James at the FitRV did a nice experiment with different types of toilet paper to see how they compared: th-cam.com/video/-twQoVcZTaw/w-d-xo.html
