2:18 I have 2 Herman's living in my garden (their native habitat in Tuscany) and I can assure you they're not 100% herbivore, that's a common myth. Their favorite food is snails, I've also seen them eat a dead blackbird starting with the head/brain (nasty!). Thus Herman's tortoise are omnivores and opportunistic.

Hey, I just got my Hermann’s tortoise today and have a few questions . Do I leave the light and heat bulb on even when he sleeps ? Should I feed him once or twice a day ? How often do they sleep and for how long . He’s under a year; how often should I soak him . Thanks
Turn the light off at a specific time each day to replicate a day/night cycle, idk about tortoises but i feed my musk turtle once a day, if you give them a very shallow bowl they can get in and out of they will soak on their own. No clue how long they sleep because I see my turtle up at night and sleeping during the day sometimes. Hope this helped

Yes you can do depending where you live. The parents of my baby Herman’s live outside but also have access to a greenhouse which is a bit warmer. We only leave them outside when it’s warm enough. And often bring them back inside if it gets chilly

Hermann's tortoises need a day night cycle. As long as the temps don't dip below 65 deg for adults, and 75 deg for babies, you wont need a heat source at night. Wow this video has alot of false information . Yikes. Romaine lettuce isn't even good for them, and they aren't supposed to have carrots everyday. On top of this, 150 watt bulbs are way too high. Eek.
Romaine is okay to feed, but only 2-3 times a week as it has a lot of water content. Its iceburg lettuce that is really bad for them. And yea, 150w seems high. Id go with a 75-100 at most.
Super helpful video, especially for the supplementation. Thanks!
