It'll be interesting to see how it changes over the next few years. Already see some of my favorite moves gone or changed. Hopefully, some spots will open up some with time. Though it looks pretty low here, like in the realm of -5" or -6" on the old gauge. I just hope it still holds water fairly well. Can't wait to hop on it with a bit of water in it
Still a good fun run just different now. Yeah all the sand snd stuff washed out below ledges making some more "sticky" but at the same time quite playable in a full slice. Last ledge before initiation slide is such a great blast ledge now. Just dont get in them sideways in a creek boat unless you know whats up with hole escape techniques. What was the level on the bridge this day? Oh and Triple drop is now a sieved out thread the needle move. Wilson is so different now but still so good.
Bridge gauge was showing 9in if I recall but defiantly didn't feel like it. I think it'll take some time to really get a good feeling on all the new lines & moves. I suspect some more changes or settling will take place next big rain.
@IraFowler3 that and it's still gonna change a little over the next few big rain events as rocks move and settle. Most everything in there is still pretty loose right now.
I think so too. Also suspect some more changes come the next big rain as I'm sure some boulders are still "unsettled" & will shift over the coming months.
Is boating up at Wilson considered to be ok now? Not sure how the community is doing and seems like a lot of people on social media are ridiculing everyone for even dreaming about going kayaking these days
@@codychitwood2383 Another group was coming in after we finished this day. Lots of non work cars going up & down the road. Everyone was friendly. As long as you’re respectful I don’t see any problem. Just know both online & visual gauges are off
@@IraFowler3 thanks for the response. Looked quite low. I’m thinking the online gauge is off about roughly a foot but idk. It’s a pretty far drive up there for us so I won’t be going anytime soon unless there’s some rainfall. Just trying to get a feel for the areas receptiveness to boaters
@@CyBORG1208 all the gauges are off so hard to tell. Was actually reading 9+ on the visual so know for a fact it’s not that. However the creek, especially the upper section definitely is more channelized. It’s really hard to tell to be honest
@@IraFowler3 10-4! I should probably just go see myself! How did the overall feel compare to the "old" creek? Quality? Difficulty? I am hoping that we may have ended up with a "win" when it comes to Wilson changes
@@CyBORG1208 It’s still Wilson Creek. Some of the rapids are harder but some are easier. Overall more tight & technical in spots as well as steeper. It’ll be more difficult If your aren’t comfortable bouncing off rocks
Good job navigating that treacherous water👍😊👏
@@birdnest5814 Thank you!

Definitely felt like it was on the lower end & feel -5 would be about right. Just hard to truly tell since everything is shifted & different.

My first lap post helene. I've also done a slice lap and some park and play since. Park and play goes good down to pretty low now.

I’d imagine the little changes but Wilson’s hit 20ft back in 2018 or so. Should withstand a lot a water at its current state.

Looks different than the week before!
Very much so
I want to keep exploring that one
We definitely will

looks more like -7 to -9 to me? I know lots has changed but I am just judging from the channelized areas (like 10ft)

It looks very low here...
Like way low
Definitely on the lower end...things are much more channelized so it does alter how things look & feel
Wow, really changed,
A whole different experience
