Thanks for at least raising awareness to this sorta thing yourself towards the end of the video. This developer's been around the block using popular IPs for monetary gain for a LONG while now, dating even back to that Secret Formula... whatever game. Me and Dave were NOT happy about that, especially since he's still getting away with it and having it be so dirt cheap that it'll be easy pickings for content creation. Lowkey, we're hoping he's sued... hard, lol.
The prop assets, the audio, the AI-geneated VA, the horror-game project that is available through the UE Marketplace (which is why you have a lighter, gun, flashlight, UI looks so similar across so many of these sloppish games not even just made by this individual developer)... you name it, it's present.

At this point I would not be surprised if they had spare accounts on standby, lol. Alternatively, it could just be different people, but the comparisons are pretty strong.
I definitely see similarities but I didn’t want to jump to a conclusion in my video. Benefit of the doubt and all that. Might be worth looking into.

I have to say. As an indie game developer myself, I had a really hard time finding out that this game costs money. As someone who has my own game on Steam that I am making almost entirely by myself, it almost…hurts? (I don’t know if that’s the right word) to see someone use an already existing IP in such a blatant way for monetization purposes, and to go about it so casually. I thank you for pointing it out and bringing awareness to it. Fan games are a wonderful thing and the developers of said games absolutely deserve recognition and support for their work, but straight up making said fan games cost money, in my opinion, is simply criminal.

I'm not a lawyer neither, but in my eyes, he didn't change it that much because the font is the same, the voices are basically a copy, the names are too similar, and the character designs aren't that different. If you are gonna steal an IP and don't want to get sued, get a lawyer to tell you how much you need to change it. Kinda scummy, but it is utilized a lot of times.
