Hi. I haven't read La vida breve, but I read El astillero many years ago. I would like to read more by Onetti for sure.
@@JuanReads Haven't read El astillero, yet. Another great writer is Gombrowicz. He lived around 40 years in Argentina but is Polish. Love his novels. Have to read soon the last I haven't read (Ferdydurke).

Hay un gran escritor brasileño del siglo XX, considerado el James Joyce del país, Guimarães Rosa. Él suele inventar, crear muchas palabras, usar palabras de diversas lenguas, e muchas de las histórias de él tiene características del realismo fantástico. Caso tengas oportunidad, aconsejo a empezar con la lectura de Primeras Estórias. Creo que a ti, tu gustarán demasiados los cuentos.

Welcome aboard! There are still a lot of Brazilian authors that I'd like to read. Graciliano Ramos and João Guimarães Rosa are on top of my list. I'd like to read Vidas Secas and Grande sertão: veredas. But please let me know if you'd recommend other books by them.

Gracias por tus videos! Quisiera leer un libro de cada pais y quiero primero enfocarme en mi region! Tus video me han ayudado mucho en ver que nomas latino america tiene que ofrecer (esta claro que voy a leer mas de uno por pais). Pero seria chevere un video tuyo takvez recomemndado asi el top top libro de cada pais, y que reflejo un poco el pensamiento del lugar y la cultura o historia.
¡Muchas gracias por tu comentario! No podría elegir un libro por cada país latinoamericano por dos razones. La primera es que no he leído libros de todos los países; ¡todavía me falta tanto por leer! Y la segunda es que de las literaturas nacionales que conozco me sería imposible escoger apenas un libro.
Gracias! Estaba esperando con ansia la segunda parte de tus recomendaciones latinoamericanos. He añadido "los peligros" a mi TBR. Para mi, una persona que había leído solamente en ingles hasta ahora, el estilo de publicar los libros en latinoamerica no me parece muy...eye catching? Los "covers" tienen pocos colores, no son muy modernas. Tienes un opinión de esto? Me encantan tus videos acerca de libros en español porque no hay sufiente videos en booktube sobre literatura en español. Muchos booktubers leen libros traducidos a español de ingles. Sigues algunos canales aquí donde hablen de literatura que fue escrito en español? *disculpa por favor, no tengo mucha confianza en mi capaz de escribir en español
¡Muchas gracias! Escribes muy bien en español. La mayoría de libros en español que tengo son ediciones de España y no de países latinoamericanos. De todas formas, casi nunca me fijo en la portada (cover) de un libro. Para mí las portadas no tienen ninguna importancia. Me fijo mucho más en la calidad del papel o en el tamaño de la letra. En cuanto a canales donde se hable de literatura escrita en español, creo que mi favorito es Trotalibros.
@@JuanReads gracias! Voy a "check out" ese canal. Por supuesto, el contenido de un libro es mucho más importante que la portada (gracias). No puedo explicarlo bien en español pero me di cuenta que las portadas en México son similares que las de España. I might have to use english - because i know little about literature in spanish yet, and i don't live somewhere i can browse physical books in spanish, it can be difficult to get a feel for a book when all the covers are the same style. ¿Tienes algunos editoriales "indie" preferidos?
@@homolibrariensis8132 Entiendo lo que dices sobre las portadas. I just haven't given it much thought. And about indie publishers, I don't think I have any favorites at the moment.
