Nice video Andy. I don't think that I have mentioned it before but our local dive shop has a Northern Reefs & Wrecks with All-Star Liveaboards booked for September 2024. Yeah, I'm planning on going, but I need to do some planning on the homefront to pull this trip to Egypt off. Cheers Mate!
Thanks Andy .very helpful and useful information. I watched other videos on this topic But never mentioned what you have which I wanted answered so thanks . Looking forward to part 2 . Hopefully next year I be able to do this 👍
Andy , thank you for your liveaboard series which I have watched a few times and it's great to receive tips and comments . We are venturing out there ourselves for the first time in April 2023. A question that has been bothering me is how do you safe guard, deal with the massive amounts of video footage you take. Is it transferred over to a computer/external hardrive. So curious ...
Hey David. Got to be honest I struggled with this one so understand why you’d want to know. I don’t like dragging my laptop on trips. It weighs a tonne being a high powered matching so it’s not travel friendly at all. Most external hard drives require being plugged into something to work but I personally found the perfect solution in the Western Digital My Passport. It’s a self powered SSD drive with a memory card slot built right into the unit. You simply pop the card out of your camera, pop it into the drive and it backs it all up onto the internal SSD. Takes seconds to do and no laptop required and can even be done on the boat if required, though I usually do it each evening. Transfer rates from the drive to your laptop are lightning fast when you do get home too. I rate it and have been using mine for a number of years without any issues. @@UKDiver Andy, thank you sincerely for taking the time to help out.. really is appreciated and that's a brilliant solution to what has given me nightmares upto now. The content you publish is really helpful to us mortals , appreciate the hard work you put in. safe diving dear friend .. and thank you
Dunno about the previous comment geezer 🤣 but congrats on ticking the red sea off, Did you see George on the barge? the three main trips/routes are Northern Wrecks n Reefs, Central, Brothers - Elphinstone Reef etc usually packaged as a shark safari, South n St Johns. All 3 trips are brill, larger stuff around the Brothers and some decent wrecks (Numidia i think) June is good, fantastic Wrecks and reef drifts on the Northern trip, beautiful scenery and swim throughs on the Southern trip, Central Shark safari suits advanced divers, others you can pick and choose but 25-45m covers most of it, confidence with some current and DSMB and negative entry from a rib are worth practice in advance, defo good dsmb and torches, spares i.e mask etc
Cheers Chris. Not my first blast in the Red Sea but my first liveaboard. I think I saw George… there is some debate. I’ve put a little clip on my Facebook page and insta so check that out and let me know your thoughts. Won’t be booking another for a while as 2023 is packed already and to be fair, I think I’d like to try somewhere a bit less Disney in the Red Sea next time. All will be explained in the upcoming vids so stay tuned!!
@@UKDiver yes is getting very busy on the traditional dive spots, on the plus side is easy diving, not so much lugging gear required is always Cyprus for a short break and a couple of Zenobia Dives although again can be very busy, I recommend Dive Inn Larnaca for that, it ok for the fam as a break can do an early dive n have rest of the day to bimble around
